Eric is the only one of you willing to talk football, which on the previous page you also fail to talk about 'football'
5 of them are your posts, numbnuts and you never talk about football!

I am flattered that you always want to talk about me though. Thanks, but I think it's about time you change the subject.

BTW I was recently talking about football. I pointed out (in response to a Viking fan's comment about us not having experienced receivers)that Jordy Nelson caught as many passes for more yards last season than all of the Viking wide receivers combined have ever caught from Christian Ponder. You are welcome to comment. Do you have any thoughts on that? Or any thoughts about the Vikings at all? Or am I your only interest?

The Hargrove thread is riddled with your prediction, care to apologize?

Do you ever talk about football or am I that fascinating to you? I already admitted that I may have said something to EZG about the Packers winning the Super Bowl in that 2000+ comment thread. I certainly am NOT going to reread all of EZG's ramblings to check the context. I'll apologize to you AFTER you apologize to me and admit that I predicted that New England would win the Super Bowl last year. Since you already said that I did, and I proved you lied, I can't imagine why you would have a problem with that.

You really have no interest in talking about the Vikings, do you?

Heres the proof that the Packers offense dropped off considerably last year.down 10 ranking spots from third to 13th in total offense; down six spots from first to seventh in yards per pass play; down 12 spots from third to 15th in third-down efficiency.Directly from the Packers webb site.So the Packers are declining.

I know. That is frickin AWESOME! Our offense took a nose dive and we still won the division. It really makes me excited about this season. Imagine what just a little rebound would do!

Ted Thompson is not a top gm in my opinion. Talent levels are falling. Offensive line picks seem to be fails. He has drafted Rodgers, Matthews, and,... Those two have carried it all. No other pass rush, now year one post-woodson, limited protection, average receivers at best made special by Rodgers. We shall see. Rodgers goes down ala Brady, I do not see 11-5.
Carry on.

OMG, what does that say about the Vikings GMs? Talent levels haven't reached high enough to fall, or if they did nobody would notice. Drafted Ponder! Never had even "average" receivers and now have a collection of other teams castoffs and rookies. Secondary can't cover anybody. And the big claim to fame is 2nd place in the NFC North divison. We shall see. Ponder goes down and the Vikings improve! Yet they still finish back of the pack AND back of the Pack!

yea that Ted Thompson isnt a top notch GM.Playoffs how many years straight? A SuperBowl championship,A championship team drafted and signed by TT ( with the exception of a handful of players like Chad Clifton,Donald Driver and maybe 1 or 2 others) the SB team was Ted THompsons creation thanks to Drafting and few real nice placed FA signings ( Ryan Pickett and Charles Woodson)but that TT certainly isnt up there.A Viking fan claiming TT is not a top GM,doesnt make him worse or wont weaken the team,TT has proven his point..How many GMs have the stones to trade a Favre, replace him with AR and trade the BF pick for Clay Mathews? Not many better moves by a GM in recent history, except when Dallas traded Walker to Minnesota for God knows how many picks and basically bought Dallas how many SB with it>

In NFC, I am impressed with giants, san Francisco, and Seattle ahead of pack front offices. I think pack is around saints. That is, without Brees, saints would suck like pack would without Rodgers. Saints and pack are both ahead of Vikes in my opinion, though, as neither has a qb question. Seattle guy-former pack - has been amazing. I wonder if T.T. was holding him back

That's okay. The goal is to make the Playoffs. A few years back we were number 6 in the NFC at the beginning of the playoffs, and finished the last team standing! We won the Super Bowl, but you wouldn't understand what that's like, would you?

BTW, GBPfan, eventhough we have butted heads on occasion, it is nice to have you back here on a full time basis. Enjoy your imput and knowledge of the Packers and football in general.

Changing of the guard? Is that what Viking fans call it when the team implements a nearly entirely new receiving corp? While the Vikings change, the Packers will add. We have quite a few players this year that didn't play last year. On the defense we are adding Desmond Bishop, Nick Perry, Johnny Jolly, and Datone Jones (a Viking fan told me that first round picks can be relied upon to make a huge impact) and on offense we are adding Derek Sherrod and Andrew Quarless.

Who are the Vikings adding? Oh yeah, I seem to recall some Viking fans saying that they brought in some players and drafted some more HOPING that the combined effort might make up for the loss of Percy Harvin. Good luck with that. What did the Vikings do to fix that porous secondary? I seem to recall something about the Vikings gettting rid of their best CB. And what is the situation at middle linebacker? Did the Vikings find one yet?

Thanks. It's fun to be back putting those envious Viking and Bear fans back in their places. You know, second, third or fourth PLACE! I love how they try to convince themselves that the Packers are getting worse. It's soooooooooooo pathetic. They have so little faith in their own team's ability to improve, they believe that the only way to catch the Packers is if we get worse. It's sad, BUT very amusing!

If I recall Perry and Sherrod werent doing very good prior to their injuries.Johnny Jolly hasnt played in about 4-5 years.Bishop is coming back from a major injury and Quarless is mainly a blocker. These are the players youre trying to scare us with?Against our newly aquired superstars.3 of the top 15 picks to go with our excellent draft class last year.Looks like Erin Henderson is going to middle linebacker,Josh Robinson is going to slot corner. We have it covered.Jones is Thompsons second attempt to get it right.

What do you mean? Sherrod and Perry are high picks. So is Jones!Weren't you the person assuming that high draft picks can be relied upon to improve a team? I like that way of thinking! We can all assume that high draft picks will play like "superstars." The Packers will be great with all of our high draft picks that didn't play last season. And I'm well aware that Johnny Jolly was spared the wear and tear of playing in the NFL for 3 years. That's great too! Bishop is healthy. And Quarless was the Packer TE during the Super Bowl run and win! Quarless can catch, and unlike "drive killer" Finley, as you pointed out, Quarless can also block! In fact, with Quarless at TE we can line Finley out wide. Finley has played out wide VERY frequentlyt anyway and he is nearly useless as a blocker anyway. With Quarless, the Packers improve at TE AND iessense have also added a WR! The Packers have returning vets AND high draft picks to improve our team. The Vikings have a few rookies, a completely retooled WR corp, a porous secondary, and no middle linebacker. I can see why you are relying on 3 rookie "superstars" - the Vikings will need them to be superstars. Good luck!
