Power outage delays Steelers, 49ers

Dec 20, 2011 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: WTNH

Two power outages delayed the Niners' 20-3 Monday night win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, first just before kickoff and again early in the second quarter after the stadium moved to a backup power source.

I have never seen anything like that before. Pretty embarrassing for Niners owner. I hope they get knocked out in the first game of the playoffs. A curse upon you, Frisco!

As if the Niners had any control over it OR was it a trick to gain physiological control?

I really didn't think the Niners had a chance. I am a bad fan :)

I'm surprised San Francisco allow night games at all. All those lights create an awful lot of carbon footprints. Greenpeace should be all over this!

Why now?

Not sure we will be season ticket holders when they move, I hate the Santa Clara and San Jose area now.

I looked on the map and it's right next to the San Jose airport LOL. The San Jose 49ers! LOL. I guess their HQs are there so it makes sense. It cant make San Franciscans very happy though.
Do you know the way to San Jose?

There was talk of it going to court over the SF part of the name. Not sure SF really cares, I think they already have plans for more housing. It was never a nice part of town.

SJ also has a much larger population than SF.

Historically, most sports stadiums were built in bad parts of town because property was cheap. The neighborhood around Wrigley Field, for example, was never a *bad* part of Chicago but I bet it's proved to be the exception of stadium neighborhoods anywhere else in the country by becoming a mecca for, not only sports but, all sorts of nightlife.

The niners originally played in in Golden Gate Park at Kezar Stadium. It was close the Haight Ashbury and they mention flower power in the video, lol.

Candlestick was built for the SF Giants baseball team, the niners came in later.
