That would be a good start...I mean re-start. I would like to see them focus on signing some of the their current players/free agents that played their butts off last year for a future with the Raiders.

interesting that the NYC specialist said there was nothing wrong with his shoulder. Makes you wonder if there really is something wrong, or buyers remorse. Either way, you gotta figure their was reason enough not to sign him.
I think RM needs to see if their are upgrades out their. I am all for signing players that played their butts off, but if there is someone more talented I don't think anyone is untouchable.

I'm reading it was more Marks decision to have him fail the physical..maybe he has more of his dad in him than we thought which may turnout to be a good thing.

We're better off that deal was crazy...we did however manage to sign Jets starting RT Austin Howard to a 5 year deal...he's 26 started the last two seasons, allowed just two sacks last year and jets ran the ball behind the right side more than anyone which should mean he can both pass and run block. But we definitely need more O - Line help and Just heard Anthony Collins has signed with bucs.. fuc*

This was all Mark Davis....he has the final say...I am actually happy he pulled the plug on Saffold, way too much money on a player who's consistently hurt.....now Reggie should go out there and spend Mark's money wisely. ....

Reggie is too busy watching the F/A tracker seeing who signed who. He doesnt have time to spend all that cap room money.

I read that 3 other doctors also said Saffold would need surgery.....not just Raiders doctor. Mark didn't want to take a chance on him not healing properly and/or quickly in time for the season.....especially not at 16 Mil (?) for this season. I don't blame him. It's his team and his money don't forget. Maybe it's time Mark Davis became a little more involved in this team.

Reggie clearly dropped the ball on this. They targeted Saffold from the beginning (and sounds like he was their only target) and then agreed to 42 Mil (front loaded) contract without considering that he may not even play much this season.

Saffold hasn't played a full season since 2010--even without having the surgery.

And he graduated with a degree in criminal justice in the spring of 2009. Nothing like having an in house locker room individual that can give out free legal advice , something this teams needs often.

To clarify my point, if the Raiders targeted "current players" that are now free agents (which they did), they might want to focus on these players. In the spirit of a re-start, their strategy that they would get the last shot doesn't seem to be the best strategy. There are some talented players that came in last year that came in on short term deals. They played their butts off knowing that their would be more money this year.

No Offensive Linemen? Time to bring in Sanchez as QB.
He wouldn't be able to butt-fumble
