I just wanted to see how many viking fans would like to see Frazier out and bring in Mike Shanahan (if OUT in WASH)+ add QB Cousins to MN too.

Maybe the Vikes could trade their 2nd rd and extra 3rd rd (from SEA) for Cousins as the Skins are desperate for picks and depth.

If the vikes draft out of the top 5 thier chances at a good QB are about dead IMO. Cousins coul be a good fit.

Any takers on that deal?

Avant no need to reply as we ALL know your “franchise QB” is Freeman.

Frazier out - Yes
Shanahan in - no! His pride is more important than the team. Plus the game is leaving him behin. Time for him to hand it up.

Cousins -??? Not a big enough body of work to judge him on. They know more about Cassell and will probably stick with him while drafting QB high to groom as the franchise.

I think I'd like to see an extremely good college coach brought in, or a proven coach like Parcells (not that I'm wanting him, just somebody of his stature).

I almost wouldn't mind seeing Mike Tice brought back.

The way Shanahan likes Cousins & the way RG3 looks like a injury prone quarterback I can't see the Skins trading off Cousins. I just think it would be a bad move.

How about Kyle Shanahan..........Mike's son........or Lou Holtz..........seriously though I wouldn't mind if LF stayed..........coordinators have to be changed though.....Kubiak at OC would be ideal..........Wisenhunt as well in some capacity would be OK..........def. not Shanahan..........players are pllaying hard for LF now and there is something to be said for that..........how much? Well I guess that would be up to Ziggy..........

I like PF's idea of Pioli at GM as well..........changes have to be made IMO but I'M ON THE FENCE WITH LF..........his not starting Rhodes, QB circus and choice of coordinators raise some red flags but you can't Q his football IQ....loved the game plan against the Eagles..........very good..........

There would more of a chance of the Skins trading RG3 I think because he is injury prone That & RG3 wasn't Shanahan QB pick & Cousins was. I know the Skins gave up a lot for RG3 but I could see them trading RG3 If the offer was right They might trade to get back that first round pick plus more. It doesnt look like RG3 is to happy with the Skins & I would think the Skins are not to happy on how RG3 is speaking about Shanahan. Would you like the Vikes to trade their first pick & may a third for RG3.

One more point about firing LF................it scares me when teams start the lather rinse repeat cycle in terms of hire fire consistently.............take the skins' for instance they have had 7 coaches in15 years and their overall record during that span is below .500 I posted this already on another thread sorry for the repeat but it bears relevance to the the Q being asked...............

Shanahan and Cousins are both great ideas, as well as the total housecleaning that would come with it.

Never happen. The Wilfs are real estate people, not football.

They will go Childress.....Frazier......and some budget unknown to be named later.

IF Frazier gets canned..........we'll hear the new guy's name..........and again say:

I think Frazier's. game plan for the Eagles game was a very good one However it was the first game that I seen the Vikes open up the play book & does one game change the fact the Vikes fell apart. A team that was said to be a playoff contender. If Frazier loses his job & im not all that sure he will now, It will because during a game he will not adjust the game plan when needed & it is losing games. The offense did open up so maybe Frazier will start making that adjustment during a game when needed.

Frazier defeinitely seems to lack insight when it comes to personnel issues..........ie coaches and players PT..........he does come from that great Bears team in '85 where he was one of the standouts on that D, so he knows what it's like to be on a championship team and what the recipe is for attaining one..........x's and o's are not bad but other areas..........

I dont like how Frazier wont let his rookies play. We see other teams playing their rookies the full game. It took to week 15 before we seen patterson on the field for more then 3 or 4 plays. its like the vikes rookies of last year are still rookies Wright should be out of the field a lot more & the same goes for Patterson now. The 85 Bears was a good team that lasted one year Its not like they was a dynasty like New England or Dallas. Frazier was on a championship team but does he know how to build one? His record with Vikes says he dont.

Why he doesn't give Patterson a shot,(especially now when opponents' are squibbing kicks and he is not getting touches on KO's) at returning punts is a mystery to me..........I gotta believe he has a good reason..........Sherels isn't a horrible punt returner but Patterson is so much more dynamic,,,,,,,,,,Hester does double duty, I believe, or at least used to, and that kid from Denver returns both......why not C3P0?

Frazier still has the locker room but to many bad records and the fans want a change so probably doesn't hurt.
Shanahan is not a fit with Spielman or wilf plus I'm not seeing anything great time to retire.
Cousins could be good could be bad.

My plan.
Pete Carmichael OC New Orleans as HC.
Draft our own Qb and in no particular order
Blake Bortles
Jimmy Garoppolo
Johnny Manziel
Zack Mettenberger
Pocket passers have more than a proven NFL track record.
Size, weight, arm strength and pocket awareness, plus physical are things I'm looking at this time.
Mettenberger could slide with the knee injury, could be a high 2nd rd steal if we gamble
I'm not for Bridgewater,Carr or a few other supposedly top Qb's.

Furthermore,
Minnesota should add a FA CB of Tillman or Talib status and add a DT or DE from FA.
Coupled with the drafted Qb we add 3 of our top needs in Qb,CB,DT or DE.With Williams and Allen moving on the cash is there, plus we have a lot of 1 year contracts.
If they go Qb rd 1 and pick up proper free agents then
rd 2 on can be for needs like OG,LB
Say if they go Cutler and a CB in free agency,
then you go Clowney or Barr rd 1 or even Mack of Buffalo or the great Gopher DT Ra'Shead
then rd 2 again for needs.
All up to my guy Carmichael who while Peyton was suspended had the # 1 pass game and #2 offense last year.Had been the Saint OC for 8 years with no real run game and just Colson slipping and graham as talented players.Sproles has slipped as well.
However I'm going for an offensive genius named
Pete Carmichael.

I can't remember who Shanahan took over for in Denver, but I always felt that he was just taking over a taylor made situation. I didn't think he built the team, he just lived of the success/skill of the previous coach. Similar to Grudden and Tampa Bay - IMO which is meaningless.

I want somebody who can step into a really bad situation and make a playoff team out of them in a year or two. Sean Payton of New Orleans comes to mind. I'm not saying get him, just somebody with that capability.

your thoughts........

Shanny built the team in Denver by large offering long term contracts and would amortize them so they had little impact on the cap. He later got busted for that and lost some draft picks. The free agents he brought in (Gary Zimmerman, Habib, Neil Smith, Tony Jones) were mostly all-pro's so yeah he did build a team. He also had Alex Gibbs coach up the O-line with the zone blocking (ahem cut block) scheme. He got lucky with Terrell Davis in a draft, but he did build a team illegally which he can't do anymore. I think he took over from Wade Phillips

Yes he did ad players of high quality, but I still feel he just didn't have it as a coach (as I said my opinion). He would be better as a manager I thought.

Just don't like the guy as a coach. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't see him as the Vikings coach that would lead us to the Supper Bowl.

Anyway thanks for the correction, I thought he came in after Reeves. But you are correct in the statement it was Phillips. Phillips took over from Reeves and Shanahan took a year later from Phillips.

well see, but thanks again!
