<quoted text>You're right. Urlacher's forte was his speed and ability to play the Tampa 2 defense. You can't teach speed so his benefit is limited to the Vikings.
So if the Vikings take a MLB and a WR...who? Brown and Austin?
I just watched tape on Brown. Love the way he plays. Problem is, he is 6'0". Viking MLB's should be bigger than me, lol. He didn't dominate enough at Kansas state to merit a round 1 selection, imo. I'd take Te'o, if the vikes must have a rd 1 MLB. At WR, i think Austin is gone and I'd prefer an outside guy. Hopkins, maybe, Patton who I really like or?... not sure.

I think WR Mark Harrison could be a good sleeper pick, he stands 6ft3 231 lbs & runs a 4.37 40 yard dash. He has good hands also the speed & size to fight off bigger defenders. he could be a good pick up in the later rounds

If he's that tall and fast, i think he goes pretty high. that's first round measurables. Can he catch?

I really hate that Brown is smallish but his speed is a plus...maybe it cancels height out?? Tall and slow won't cut it. Arif, over at The Daily Norseman, had a very good article on LBs....maybe Te'o for downs 1 and 2...and a faster LB on 3rd down. On Austin, you're probably right there, I heard St. Looey wants him. I think Austin would be good on screens...Ponder hasn't proven he can throw deep....probably because of all the blitzes. Mus-rat doesn't call deep because he didn't trust the OL in 2012....something he learned from 2011, I betcha.

I think the Vikings learned something....from Williamson. If you can't catch, you aint worth much. Webb has Harrison's speed but....well, you know. You think maybe Webb could take Harvin's place on screens? Your opinion, please.

The great Adrian Peterson ran for 2000 yards last year with a OL you say Musrat doesn't trust. Now does that make sense? Our OL is good, it's the QB Musrat doesn't trust.

Burfict is a 3 down LB in the 6th ranked defense, cinci's 4-3 tampa 2. He ran in the 5's, compared with Te'o's 4.69.

I liked the tape on Brown, but he is a guy who left miami because he couldn't get on the field. He went to kansas state, looked pretty good, but it is kansas state. he is very small - a hybrid safety/lb. Frazier says he wants a LB like EJ. That is not brown. Frazier wants on downhill LB, like te'o, and spielman says it is his job to get frazier the guys who work in his system and that he knows what those players look like. Don't think it's brown. Minter or Te'o, and Te'o is just bigger and better. Minter is also 6'0"

Ogletree has no instincts to play LB from the film i see. Don't think he can play, and he is not at all a downhill lb.

Our OL is great to run behind...pass? Not so much. Ponder's QB stats were middle of the pack....better than Luck or McElroy.

He doesn't seem to be athletic enough. Watched video he doesn't make anybody miss.

Can you name a receiver in NFL history who was projected for the 7th round who was worth anything? I can't!

Hey PF..Brown is 6 ft, Te'o, 6'1...not much to talk about. I happen to like Jake Knott of Iowa State....what you think of him?

Inch or two matters, least that's what she said when she left. Brown is small, though smaller frame, can't carry more. Te'o isn't so small. Plays and hits pretty big. I'd prefer 6'2 to 6'4", for sure.

Wow, i like what i see of Jake Knott so far.

I'd draft Jake Knott. Shoulder injury and all. I really like him. Great post, Kanfan

LOL!! To be sure, I agree with you on Brown...6'2" is ideal. I hope our picks reflect need, not BPA. We don't need a TE or RB at this time. LB, WR and DT would be my preference....possibly 2 LBs...like Knott if he happens to fall into the 4th and we took a LB in rd 1. Might jump on Knott in rd 2 or 3 if we didn't address LB in rd 1.
