You think Ponder is our franchise QB?

Nope.

I was hopping I was missing something
Not seeing something that others could see. If Ponder isn't the answer then we have years of problems. I'm afraid we have years of problems coming.

Ponder wouldn't be my first pick but I think everyone can agree that last years receivers was a third receiver on most teams. Ponder has showed improvement. all ponder needs to do is manage the team. There was a few people that said the vikes drafted Ponder because Blaine Gabbert was taken the pick before, well we all can be happy now the jags got him. Ponder isn't a franchise QB but does he need to be one?

As long as the Rodgers, Stafford, Cutler are playing we have the worst QB in our division and Ponder the game manager won't be good enough to win games. We can't expect the great Adrian Peterson to carry us like last year that's a sure way he gets hurt again.

Yes our receiving core sucks but when guys are open he misses them and he's been hurt every year in college and NFL.

It wasn't all Peterson last year, The vikes Harvin was the leading receiver in the NFL before his injury. Ponder had to be doing something right. Ponder had a group of third string receivers & a makeshift offensive line. There has been a few QBs that took their teams to the super bowl & they did it by managing their team. the 2000 Ravens QB Trent Dilfer was a game manager & thats all ponder needs to be for the vikes

Ponder is who we got so knocking him does no good. Others cried for Webb, you see how that worked so pay them no mind. Ponder's strength is the WCO, give Ponder time, he'll do OK. What we need is WR's who are fast enough to get past the 8-in-the-box before the defense gets to Ponder. Jennings wasn't it. We will go defense in the draft though....MLB and DT in the 1st.

I tink Tavon Auston could take Harvin's place but everyone would compare that to the Williamson/Moss trade...no way Spielman allows that to happen.

Can pounder lead us to the promise land?

I don't think so. I do hope so.

It was all Peterson last year or Manning not Peterson would have won MVP. You can't call an OL makeshift if a back gets 2000 yards MVP and his best season ever.

The NFL is now a QB league. Name a game manager in the last 5 years who got their team to a Superbowl or even a championship?

What happen if Peterson gets hurt and Gerhart takes his place? We will need more than a game manager.

I hope you are right about Ponder but in the last 6 years, 4 college 2 pro's he has missed games due to injury every year including last when he tapped out for his ONLY playoff appearance.

Kanfan in every NFL forum that's what happens. People knock the players who they don't like. You have done it many times.

I never cried for Webb. I said he is not an NFL starting QB just like Ponder.

Ponder playing OK won't work against Rodgers, Stafford or Cutler. We need almost all star play from our QB to contend.

Its all true what your saying about Ponder but the vikes knew Ponder wasn't a Payton Manning. all they ask him to do is manage the game. In the 2012 season through his first five games, he threw for 7 touchdowns and 0 interceptions he was managing the game just like planed. Ponder's QB rating is 81.2 that's the stats of a QB that is managing the game. You may not like the kind of game plan the vikes have but that is what their doing, their having ponder manage the game. I know ponder is injury prone & odds are he wont end the season, that is why in my mock draft one of my picks was Aaron's younger brother Jordan Rodgers as one of my picks but that was long before the trade of Harvin. & the signing of Cassel & the loss of Winfield.

I hope Pounder can do it. I'm not knocking him I'm rooting for him.

Ponder is our QB, I will try not to criticize him until he prospers or bust.

Same here, Ponder is our QB & im not a 100% for him myself. Not much can be said about his last two seasons other then I wasn't impressed & after seeing rookies like Luck & Wilson & the others putting up big numbers the first thought is we need someone like them, instead we hope that maybe this being Ponder's third year he will play better but to do that we need a top receiver from this draft or I dont see a big improvement in our passing offense.

That is one of my problems. Modern day rookie QB's are good from day 1. This will be day 1086 for Ponder.

I doubt this is the year Ponder is replaced. This year's draft would be a success with Te'o, Trufant, Elam, and a round 3 WR. Woods, maybe. Te'o ran a 4.75, that's plenty fast and he plays big, unlike Ogletree who doesn't seem to have any instincts, other than to not have imaginary girlfriends.
