I blame Mike Sherman for a lot of this mess. Why does a head coach not insist that a quarterback be in camp to get timing done with his receivers? He spoiled Favre and what happens to kids when you spoil them??? He got so accustomed to being top dog without needing to do all the work...

I agree with LD and slw

Silence would be great, but there will be too many Viking fans there to make any of the un-welcomes subdued. I hope and pray for cold weather with rain/snow. And then blast the Led Zepaellin song "We come from the land of the ice and snow" over the loudspeakers.

Great players come and go, but the "Team" lives on.

GO PACK!

Light and polite applause for Favre. Standing "O" for Rodgers. Then have the "D" set him on his butt as the best welcome we could ever give. Aaron directing a strong win would add the icing to the cake.

why does everyone hate favre so much? others players leave teams. i thinks favre would have stayed if it wasnt for ted thompson. we were 1 play from being in the super bowl that year--who gets rid of a qb after a season like that? thats what gets me so upset!

Hi there fans. wis. is a good sports state and i just feel we should not say one thing good or bad. when he comes on the field just do nothing one way or the other. to boo him will might want to make them play even harder to prove a point and to give him his day would make him feel like ya you miss me. one thing he can't stand is to do nothing when he comes out on the field. just act like he is not there. just think what it would be like if you walked out and no one did a thing. they did not care if you were there or not. that will stop him cold and the hole team as well. thankyou for the time. but we have moved on.
You've moved on a little deeper into that bottle of wine haven't you Jerry? He he!

May I say if the Packer fans had any decency about them , they would not be jeering Brett Favre.
Supposedly the Packer fans are totally cool, respectful & treat people so nice. Yep. nothing like a Packer fan. Ha Ha !!!
I saw Brittney Favres twitter on Tv tonite & she is so right.
You all want to blame somebody, get it thru your heads that it was the management. Ted Thompson just had to have this young nice looking guy by the name of AAron Rodgers who is originally from Calif as Ted Thompson is.
Brett Favre did not--I repeat DID NOT leave the Packers because he wanted to. He was forced out. ALL of your jeers about him is disgusting. If Murphy & the coach Mc Carthy would not have gone along with what Ted Thompson wanted, they would have been fired.
Get it straight. Brett was forced out. 16 years of giving to the Packers. You call him a traitor. You say he betrayed the Packers . You call him a hillbilly. He is the greatest there ever was.
It is my opinion as his daughter Brittney stated on her twitter, that the truth shall come out eventually as it always does & you people can eat crow.
To jeer him & boo him is saying you never liked him in the first place. Oh ,but he won super bowls, didn't he. Never missed a game did he??
I do hope the Vikings whip the Packers even tho' I have been a Packer fan since Brett went to Greenbay. No more.
You all are jealous, afraid to face the fact that he might whip your behind.
All that I have heard, hope he breaks a leg, hope he gets sacked every time he turns around. The fans still of the Packers are not what they use to be or portrayed themselves to be.
If somebody deliberately injures him, there's a price to pay for that.
He loves football so what is wrong with you people. You don't have a decent bone in your body when it comes to Brett Favre & to think all he gave to Greenbay as well as his wife Deanna.
I am standing by the great one, Brett Farve. The rest of you continue your jealousy & remember who got rid of him. Ted Thompson.
When the Vikings beat the Packers at Lambeau, watching Ted Thompsons face was really something. He was in a state of shock!!!! Of course , watching him on TV , you could see him so well & his look on his face was unbelievable. Of course it always is.
Yes Ted Thompson , you have your young Rodgers there so what are you and the others all worried about come Sunday???
If Rodgers makes it 16 games it will be amazing. Brett never missed a game in 16 years. Does anybody thing Rodgers will make it 16 games even.??
Bretts not a traitor nor did he betray Greenbay. He is the one who was betrayed. Wake up.

Amen Lynn D. You have it straight. There's this thing called jealousy. That's what the Packer fans are all about. Plain & simple.

Favre should be cheered. He never wanted to leave the Packers. He may have retired prematurely, but he said he wanted to play for the Packers. They didn't want him back. They turned their backs on everything he did for them and decided to look to the future. For people to say he's a traitor is preposterous. He just wanted to play and he's proved that he's more than capable. Which is why when I heard that this station was going to be running Favre's top Follies it made me sick. I'll never watch Fox6News again. Just like the Packers you've lost me as a viewer.
Oh , you are so right. By knocking Brett, they have made themselves not so popular. They aren't very professional anymore at all.

My mother always said if you can't say something nice you shouldn't say anything at all so Favre should be met with absolute silence as he enters the field.

Honestly, we are talking about a man that cried his eyes out on national TV and felt god awful about retiring and reminisced about the greatest team on earth that he was part of...oh wait---he changed his mind. That left all us fans wondering -is he indeed just a liar? Why YES HE IS! Completely untrustworthy, undignified disgrace. He turned his back on our team--let's turn our back on him. When he walks on the field or takes his place behind the center---everyone at Lambeau should just turn their backs on him-no boo's, no jeers or taunts. Just silence and complete disregard. Let's give him the same treatment he gave us.
We will be hanging our Favre jersey upside down from now on.

I will always be a Bret Favre fan but I also cheer for the Packers.
The Packers could have had Favre but chose not to. The only mistake Brett made was in changing his mind, and of course, none of us has ever changed our mind. He wants to play football and if he can't for the Packers, he should be able to play for whatever team wants him. He gave us 16 years of the most exciting football any of us will ever see and I was around for the 60's team which was great also.

There should be no debate about this. He should be cheered. He didnt' leave the Packers, he was forced out by McCarthy and the arrogant Ted Thompson....they "moved on". Favre was willing to come back and they didn't want him. They also didn't want to play against him so they took the cowards way out and sent him to the Jets instead of the Vikings.
You "fans" call him a whiner and a waffler because he needed a lot of time to decide if he wanted to leave the game he loves with such a passion. Of course it's a tough decision and it requires a lot of time to think about, but you impatient people forced his hand and he decided to retire, but he thought about it and decided he wanted to play and the Packers and the fans turned their backs on the greatest QB in the history of the franchise. The Packer's fans should be jeered not Favre.

I blame Ted Thompson for Brett's leaving the Packers. Ted Thompson said he was moving on and did not want Brett as quarterback. They should BOO Ted Thompson on Sunday for letting the best quarterback in history go. Do you think the media and fans will miss Ted Thompson when gets fired, which will be soon? A lifetime Packer fan.

Ummmmmm..........Favre wanted to stay and play for the Packers. The only fault you can pin on him was choosing to end his retirement and showing up late. Other than that it was Ted who even offered to pay him not to play and then traded him. So how is Brett the disloyal to the fans? When he wanted to play again he chose the Packers first. The way some of you people think really makes me wonder.
Patrick wrote:
Favre deserves to be booed by true Packer fans. He was supposed to be as loyal to the organization as any one of us lifelong fans. But, he hasn't been loyal and now takes pride in playing for a rival team hoping to "stick it to Ted". He gets more pathetic each time he opens his mouth.
