Packers, Vikings have similar injury issues with their top guys

Aug 11, 2013 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: LombardiAve

Both teams went defensive line in last April's NFL Draft - the Vikings taking defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd with the 23rd pick and the Packers following suit with the selection of defensive end Datone Jones at number 26. While it appears at this point that Floyd is the least injured of the two, Jones's injury is unknown because nobody's talking.

It's settled! Tweedle Dumb and Tweedle Dumber agree that the Viking management and coaching staff have been HORRIFIC evaluators of talent. Guess what dumbies? I agree!

Now that the moronic Viking brain trust has traded away it's second best player, there are foolish Viking fans that think the Viking staff SUDDENLY have become geniuses. ROFLMAO I'm sorry to break the news to you guys, but the Viking employees that bring in the talent woke up this morning (like you) every bit as stupid as the day before, and all of the days before that.

The Vikings will lose the division and EVERY Viking fan KNOWS it. That is why nobody can find a Viking fan willing to bet on their team.

Ill side with the Vikings in that Harvin didnt want to be in Minnesota and or maybe had some maturity issues.
Got a 1st round pick for a guy who didnt want to and you wouldnt have received his best efforts, isnt to bad of a deal for either side.
All we did with Jennings is raise the price for Jennings forcing Minn. to pay an extra Million or so

I can agree that the Harvin trade made sense, probably for both teams. But that is irrelevant to the points brought up by the retard brothers.

The FACTS are that the Vikings lost their second best player, their QB ranks among the bottom QBs in the league, and you can't even find any Viking fans with enough confidence or belief in the team to bet on them! The GREEN BAY PACKERS are the favorites to win the division by everybody in the world with at least half a brain and for good reason.

I admit that the Vikings sucked even worse in the past and needed to replace a lot of dead weight. They would be stupid to keep the crap players they used to have. So naturally they have replaced the bums with players recently drafted. Unfortunately for the Vikings, the newly drafted players are just as bad! That is why the Packers keep winning the division. I'm more than happy to let you count draft picks that break your starting lineup. I'll be busy counting more division titles and Championships. ROFLMAO

Based upon Greg's recent behavior, I think he will slit his wrists rather than play 5 years with Ponder throwing him the ball.

Yeah, because the vikings have been rebuilding for the past years and needed to replace all those crappy starters they had! ;) They also have sucked it up and draft much higher. It is either a rookie or a former Packer coming in to help.

btw, out of curiosity what are the numbers you have on this? Is it close?

Last year the Packers rookies lead all playoff teams in amount of snaps. That is good thing. I think the vikes were high on the list too.

On a brighter note for greg, he probably is less likely to get injured again since he won’t have the ball in his hands very often.

That is a very good point. He also will have added time in the offseason in which to recover from any injuries he may suffer. Going to the Vikings may have extended Jennings career!

I am beginning to understand his thought process now.

5 years of Rodgers throwing me the ball = high percentage of me catching the ball = higher percentage of me being hit and tackled = higher percentage of me being injured.

vs

5 years of Ponder throwing me the ball = lower percentage of me catching the ball = lower percentage of me being hit and tackled = lower percentage of me being injured.

Jennings has been very hard on Rodgers, do you think in some way he blames Rodgers for his past injuries because he constantly got him the ball in his hands and raised his chances of being injured? And since he was injured so much he was NOT offered the contract he thought he should get or even that was offered before his injuries?

"DAMN YOU RODGERS AND DAMN YOUR OUTSTANDING PASSING ABILITIES!!"

Greg is the closest thing in the NFL we to Ray Finkle

I see that Jennings has finally started to notice and discuss the team he now plays for. After the last game he said: "I was coming off the sideline saying,'Oh, my gosh, what are we doing?' "

Welcome to life with Christian Ponder Greg!

While Rodgers is undoubtedly a great QB, he sure comes over like a jerk
Even his teammates and former teammates (Driver and Jennings) have stuck a pin in him.
Seems like Green Bay fans follow in that mould too.

I dont recall where I saw the article earlier this year but as of shortly after the draft this year we had 18 of twenty draft picks from the last two years still with the team.Of course I know were going to lose some this year. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1615619-mi...

I was looking at ESPN the other day & one of the reporters was saying how Jennings walked up to him & started talking about Ponder. Saying how he thinks Ponder is only in his third year & should still get a break being he is still learning to read defense & how Aaron Rodgers was able to sit for his first three years in the NFL & learn to read the defenses he will see the next year & also said Rodgers 4th year the team stil was 6 & 10 But Rodgers did look good even if the teams record wasn't. He also said Rodgers is a great quarterback But also thinks Ponder can be as good. The reporter also said He didn't walk up to Jennings & ask him about Ponder That it was Jennings that wanted to tell him what he thought of Ponder. For now anyway Jennings thinks a lot of Ponder to go off way like he did with this reporter. Now what happens If Jennings isn't getting his touchies I guess we will have to hold out to that happens But for now he likes Ponder & speaks highly of him.)

Thanks for pointing out how bad the Vikings have been. It takes a real crappy team to have that kind of turnover.
