Packers, Vikings have similar injury issues with their top guys

There are 82 comments on the LombardiAve story from Aug 11, 2013, titled Packers, Vikings have similar injury issues with their top guys. In it, LombardiAve reports that:

Both teams went defensive line in last April's NFL Draft - the Vikings taking defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd with the 23rd pick and the Packers following suit with the selection of defensive end Datone Jones at number 26. While it appears at this point that Floyd is the least injured of the two, Jones's injury is unknown because nobody's talking.

Sorry i had no problem reading the article. Floyd injured his knee and Jones his ankle.
Hopefully Jones will be ready,,from what ive read,,he looks good but Mc will keep him out for Saturday/s game, but he still has 2 games to get into it OR a few more weeks to heal up completely for game 1 vs SF ( depends how you look at it).
Floyd, having a test done on it,,who knows, but, guess we will find out soon enough.

Vikes didn't let Floyd practice but after Floyd told reporters there's "nothing wrong" and he would return once cleared by the Vikings' medical staff. I hope Jones is ready he is one of my fantasy receivers darn ever year my guys get hurt lol

The good news for you is the Jones is Datone Jones who is a DE,your thinking of James Jones WR and he is healthy ( at this point at least)

The Packers injuries just keep on mounting.First Jordy Nelson now Cobb.Pretty soon their receievers will be out there playing with walkers.Knock on wood so far the Vikings injuries are minor.Floyd is back at practice already. With Nelson doubtful to play in the season opener and now Cobb with what sounds like a lingering injury they probably wish they had injury prone Greg Jennings back.LMAO.Youre looking at playing the opener against the 49ers with one maybe two rookies that have like two catches in the nfl a revamped oline, two new runnings backs.Doesnt look real promising.

You should pass out walkers to Viking receivers. It can't hurt. It's probably the only way for them to create enough seperation for Christian Ponder to complete a pass. They can use the walkers as weapons! BTW the Packers could have only one starter in our opener and he would have more receptions last season alone than ALL Viking receivers combined have ever caught from Ponder. ROFLMAO

Last year Jones was terrific in the redzone. If he didnt lead the NFL in TD catches,he was darn close.OF course having AR the leagues best didnt hurt did it?:)

No doubt,,Cobb is banged up,Jordy Nelson is banged up and who knows whats next..On defense.Casey Hayward has a hammy injury, who knows if he will or will not be 100%..
but back to offense shall we......very true 2 big Packer WR are out, granted BUT, AR is the qb and right now an undrafted Rookie Tyrone Walker is impressing everyone and depending on a rookie is dangerous but it looks promising..They still ahve James Jones, they still have Boykins who will make the next step and of course Aaron Rodgers and i still find it hard to believe GB running game wont be better..Minn. may have healthy WR but you still have Christian Ponder and although i believe he will take the next step and become a good qb,he still has to do it

You forgot both starting CBs are out in Williams and Hayward!

No it is not looking very good I must say. Way too many injuries. At least it is preseason and I hope we are just getting all the injuries out of the way. An optimist would say we are getting a very good luck at our younger players. ;)

We are getting a great look at our younger players!
Unf. Heyward has a hammy,so lets hope it heals over the next few weeks and hes 100% by the start of the season.
Cobb should rest the Bicep muscle and hope it heals as much as it could for the season..Nelson seem cronic BUT, Boykins is looking sharp and should take that step ( which helped in the choice to let Jennings go)

Our recievers are fast enough.Youre talking about having to start with either seventh round or undrafted wide receievers. You have no depth. At least Patterson and Wright were standouts in college and Simpson has some experience and we all know what Jennings is.Sure Webb was a sixth and Burton is a seventh but they wont have to start. If either Nelson or Cobb is out youll have to play one or two rookies.I think were going to have to keep 6 recievers just to make sure you dont get any of them.

At least our receivers have proved themselves in the NFL AND have caught some passes from our quarterback. Of course it helps that our quarterback doesn't suck. ROFLMAO

I have looked it up The Vikings receivers are faster then the Packers, Randall Cobb runs a 4.46 40 yard dash James Jones runs a 4.59 40 Jordy Nelson 40 was 4.51 Jermichael Fonley 40 time was 4.82 in fact if you look at these 40 yard dash times the Packers are slow in comparison to the Vikings team Jarius Wright, 40 was 4.42 Jerome Simpson 40 ws 4.5 Stephen Burton 40 was 4.53 Cordarrelle Patterson 4.38 to 4.42 Kyle Rudolph runs a 4.78 40 & even Greg Jennings ran a 4.42 40 faster then the guy the Packers replaced him with Wheaton that ran a 4.45 40 Aaron Rodgers makes these guys look good & the way the Packers front line is looking Rodgers can't be real happy the team didn't use their first pick for a tackle

Isn't it awesome that Viking receivers will be running fast when Christian Ponder fails to get the ball to them? ROFLMAO
