Jared Allen was insinuating we have everything we need to win it's all up to Christian Ponder. I agree with him wholeheartedly.

Patterson will be the most feared receiver in the NFL in 2 years.

Read so much about CP84 being dumb. Not so!! Maybe he just wasn't interested in school, knew what he wanted to be. Lacking book smarts isn't the same as dumb. Seems to me he was smart enough to know where/what his future is.

How can anyone knock this guy Just look at how Patterson uses his speed to back off the defender, then he comes back to the ball & as strong as he is try & play bump & run with him. then add in the cuts he makes at full speed along with his leaping abilty anyone that thinks he wasn't a good pick doesn't know the game.I can see some teams passing on him because he didn't come from a big school but if you study the videos on him he is loaded with talent.

Well he isn't a "bad pick" yet but Belichick passed on him and took 4 picks, does he know the game? Just sayin.

I agree in his 3rd season he should start to really show up if he is going to be the superstar we hear he can be, or then he isn't. Time will tell for him. He has a lot of work to do but so do most if not all WRs in their first few yrs, its a process.

If he applies himself and uses his smarts he should be just fine in the Vikings O. In the meantime he can provide some return ability and extra depth at WR for the 3 or 4 very talented WRs MN has in place now.

I know Belichick has a good history but not all his decisions are genius. was Chad Johnson a good decision & was letting Wes Welker go a wise decision? Belichick not drafting Patterson didn't mean he didn't think Patterson was worth the pick. His trading out of the first round was best for the team & by trading out & getting 4 extra picks for a team that was low on draft picks, he now had the chance at getting two starters for his team & possibly more. also filling holes the team couldn't fill without the extra picks

True not every decision is genius but I give him the benefit of the doubt though considering his track record. Chad Johnson was too stupid to pick up the Pats complex playbook and was just lost most of the time. Perhaps Belichick learned something from that and now passes on the athletes that are mentally slower then the rest, maybe that is why he preferred 4 picks over Patterson. Who really knows for sure, not I.

Is this simular to what the Vikings got in Patterson.

all I got to say is A.J. Green test score was 10 one lower then Patterspn & look how he turned out. true one never knows how a player will work outin the long run but Patterson does have all the skills needed to be a star.

Patterson isnt mentally slower than the rest.Thats only what you wish was true. The Patriots only had 5 picks. They already signed Danny Amendola and Michael Jenkins.Plus they had Julian Edelman. The Following is Bellichick himself talking about the trade and no mention of Patterson being slow.No facts from you only hot air.

Yeah no facts, also noticed I wrote "Perhaps Belichick learned something" I think it was pretty clear that it was not intended to be fact based, just an idea and a thought, that is all.

And yes I hope Patterson is a bust, mentally slow, cannot run routes, and drops a lot of passes. I wish and hope it to be true :) because when he does have the ball in his hands he scares me.

Btw…
.. if I was Belichck I would have said pretty much the same thing about the trade (no matter how I felt), that way next year the Vikings might want to do it again. If Belcheck said “man those guys are dumb and I owned them on that one” that would close all trade relations in the future wouldn’t it? If I thought I got a good deal I would look forward to another one, by being as friendly as possible. Truth is Belechick didn’t have to say anything at all. Maybe he actually meant what he said....maybe it was all sportsmanship (LOL), But he did say something (which is odd) weather that is true or not is open to judgement when it concerns the draft. I am sure we are all very aware of misleading info and statements presented by coaches and GMs when it comes to the draft.

BP. The statements above reflects my opinions and in no way do I present the previous as fact based analysis.

Oh, OK then, my bad. I am sure he is fine mentally

“If a player may be a little behind mentally, it’s our job to figure out the best way he learns and it’s our job to put a plan in place on how he’s going to do that,” Vikings general manager Rick Spielman said, via Tom Pelissero of 1500ESPN.com .

That is "all you got to say"? Good, Great, Fine, read this about AJ Green coming out as a rookie and see how much he compares to what they say about Patterson. Not even close. Green is the best young WR in the game. He does it all and then some!!! Don’t compare a guy with limited catching, smarts, and route running ability to AJ Green. You lose every argument that way.

Green is a stud WR and came into the NFL that way, he didn’t' need fixing and he had all the tools, instead of being a tool.(that was funny)

If patterson can come out and be like Green then every scout I have ever read is wrong about him. Green was/is very very special. He has great hands, runs great routs, can go deep, or go underneath. If I had my choice of any WR in the NFL right now I would choose AJ Green. Patterson has never come close to comparing to what Green can do. His 1 yr with the lady Vols makes him a star like AJ Green? Please.
