Story at NFL.com ,
Personally I thought that was against G.B.2 weeks ago,but Frazier somehow thinks it will be against the Rams.

It's not Ponder who has the vikings in the thick of playoff hunt it's MVP Adrian Peterson.

Ponder is Frazier's hand picked QB how Ponder goes so does Frazier.

Play Webb, we make playoffs and can even win a game. He pulls secondary off ers, runs 100 a game. Vikes need to be about winning. If Ponder fails first half, best pull him. Look what RG3 does for rookie fifth rd pick. Webb can help Adrian.

Ponder's most defining moment in his life so far was to actually pull some toilet paper off the roll to wipe his ass

I think the Vikes need to come out throwing....Fisher likes to leave the rookie Jenkins one v one alot....whoever matches up with him has to make plays down field, be that Simpson or Jenkins...if THE VIKES are even entertaining the thought of playoffs then they have to take shots downfield..........even if they are incomplete, can't be a one trick pony the rest of the way. Still get AP his touches of course.

looks like they want AP to get the record,we pass 15/17 a game.Probably best. We're not a pass team,we're defined by Peterson and defense. How they go is how we go.

Oh, and Webb is an elite runner with every bit as much "potential" as Ponder to become an actual QB.

The thinking must be that Ponder gives us a better chance at success with the minimalistic passing game we do employ. That statement alone is debatable, but becoming even more one dimensional with Webb may not be the answer either.
I can't see letting the season slip away one Ponder at a time either though. If he stinks it up for any length of time down the stretch, the Black Bud Grant will need to make the move.

Like I said in an earlier post, there just does not seem to be much available in the upcoming draft for QB's. Get a couple receivers that can mostly get open, see what Ponder can/cannot do with that, obtain a veteran QB, and if a different QB is a must, wait to see what the 2014 "QB crop" is like. Oh, and draft defense heavy in 2013.

Gotta ask these questions again.
Seems they never get answered.

1. Who is in charge of this predictable offense? Where is the true play-action set up by other plays? Draws, trap-draws, delays, pitch-outs, student body left and right, reverses, fake reverses, flea-flicker.......statue of liberty?
Take a chance now and then.

2. Whay the road woes? This is it. A winnable road game at an important time.

1) Why is the offense so predictable? Is it somebody that has no imagination or a team that cannot execute plays?
2) Road whose? Curious if it is because Vikings don't practice on grass?

I like your thinking. Let Ponder have one more year (or so), give him the tools to succeed and if he doesn't. Show him the pine!

Not to nitpick, but statue of liberty?
How many times has that play even been run in the NFL lately? How many times do you think we can run a play like the statue of liberty? Once a game? Once a season? Reverses require someone of great speed (think Harvin and Peterson) so why waste your time? Who do you draw to? Peterson? Defenses are already keying on him so that would go over as well as a steady dose of the statue of liberty.
Teams turn over their rosters rather quickly in the NFL, so I would prefer to see this year' version as standing on their own, disconnected from past road failures.
Why not answer your own question?

Just to be clear, I couldn't care less about who was right about who, what, when, and where.
I'm a Viking fan, and my being right or wrong has nothing to do with it. I want the Vikings to do well, and I'll keep cheering them on till the cows come home(with a Super Bowl Trophy)

THEN flush the playoffs rite down the John..........what does Frazier wan a post season birth or a record..........Ponder needs to throw 25-28 times this weekend.........I bet he does. I doubt this team makes the post season but they got a shot still.

Precisely..........I'm not convinced he IS the guy but let's evaluate him with a complementary cast of players (WR'S) before we prematurely dismiss him. Vikes don't need a superstar like Brandon Marshall, just a couple guys that can run good routes and use good football instincts when your QB is in trouble. Look at the way Decker runs route in Denver, thats' what the Vikes need at that position, players' like him.

Erie, good to see you
Ponder will likely see the remainder of this year, but next spring will compete with some new faces in a battle for the QB position. Now if he performs adequately down the stretch, that may quell some fire alarm reaction in the draft and grant him some time to advance.
How many receivers do you think we can aquire to give ponder an adequate evaluation?

St. Louis has a great edge rush, let those guys(Quinn and Long) get upfield so Ponder can step up in the pocket and use his feet a bit this game to run for some positive yardage......either that or extend the play and take some shots deep.....they do have a young secondary.
