Packers' Defense Keen On Denying Peterson's Quest For History

Dec 26, 2012 Full story: CBS Local 12

If Vikings running back Adrian Peterson thought he'd easily tip toe into the history books this Sunday against the Packers, he clearly hasn't spoken with Clay Matthews.

Of course Peterson does'nt think he's just going to walk in and gain more than 200 yards this comming Sunday. What a ridiculous statement. The first order of business is to assure the Vikings of a win, then, if possible, try and get Peterson the rushing record. We all know the League favours Green Bay, as seen in the Ref's play calling in the past ten years, so it won't be easy.

gb doesn't have nearly the stake in this game the Vikings do, so the packer press tries drumming up non stories to rouse the faithful.
And they fall for it.....

GB has plenty to play for,win and they secure 2nd seed.Sf is 1/2 game behind for that spot and a 1st rd bye.

Exactly!A win puts them in the 2 spot,Minn.needs to win to make the playoffs,so Id say Minnesota has more to play for, but, its important for both.
IF GB wins, they set a record for consecutive wins within a division at 13,so both teams can have a record setter on Sunday.
AS far as rousing the faithful 40, there is no need to fire up a Packer fan like me,I like the vikes as much as you guys like the Pack( and a chance to knock the vikes out of the playoffs, assuming Chi beats Det. which isnt a guarantee either)Is point enough,Just the fact its the Vikings is enough, the rivalry is enough.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and has a very Happy,Safe and Healthy New Year!

I dont think Chicago gets out of the WC round. If they get to the Playoffs, they are a 6th seed which means SF or Seattle and i dont think Chicago would beat either one on the road in the playoffs.
Its more of a 2nd position and a 1st round bye that GB is aiming for i believe.NOW if Minn and Chi both lose and NY wins, then NY gets SF or Seattle and that should be fun.

Or if Minn beats GB,SF loses and Seattle wins, seattle gets the bye.Now wouldn't that be a GB pisser????

I dont think that would be a GB pisser at all.GB would get and beat Minnesota in the 1st round and GB would win that one.THen they get Seattle in Seattle and GB has already beaten Seattle this year in Seattle,so its not like they cant do it again and they are playing better now then they were then.
A bye week is nice but, not ness. to win it.In fact they have been better in the playoffs on the road the past recent years sadly enough.

It would be a pisser because in my scenario,Seattle would win the division and we all know GB got screwed in week 3 at Seattle. So a GB,SF loss and a Seattle win gives Seattle the west and #2 seed.
A GB pisser.

I know where you were going with it,I just didnt want to bitch about the Seattle screw job anymore.
If Chicago does lose,Minn. is in regardless correct? NY needs Washington,Minn and Chi all lose,Chi needs to win and Minn to lose.If Minn wins they are in,but,i dont think they will but there is always that chance Det beats Chi.Philly would love to beat NY and drop them out once and for all.

Dallas,Wash,NYG,Chi,Minn are all in the mix.Minn controls their destiny.
If Minn wins this game,I'm moving them as the team to beat. They easily could be 14-1 instead of 9-6.
I'm seeing a top secret, secret weapon emerging as well.

You never know.Gb got them the 1st time, but, take out an INT in the endzone and a few little mistakes and it could have been a different outcome.
Once you get to the playoffs, you never know.Ill say this 9-6 is not bad at all,How many people saw this coming? Ive seen many 6-10---7-9 but 9-6? not bad,esp after a 3 win season.IF MINN LOSES, You Viking fans will be pissed for sure, disappointed for sure, but, after a little while, you realize a 3-13 season followed up by a 9-7 season is a pretty damn good job,a nice jump and may just be the beginning of something special in Minn.that may last a while.
