Rodger is the best there is. Put him on the Vikings with Peterson he would never throw a incompletion. We would be in first place and a Superbowl threat.

I don't believe you believe what you wrote. Pure hyperbole.

Sadly enough your probably correct! Rogers would probably last about 2 games and then go down with a concussion.

You guys are eating out of avants hand.Either way he'll say something different. He made his bed, forget him.
Checked all the young Qb's that Avant said are better.Ponder is ahead or around them in stats. He has also has more wins than Newt and RG,guys he said would be S.B winners day 1.And after week 3,jimmy said Ponder stunk????2 Det.victories,1 SF win.A knee hampered his style on a few weeks.
Anyway, don't see much point defending any Viking he's against and 'll move on.

As I pointed out Ponder has similar stats to Schaub. One can only wonder what they would be on that team, certainly not worse. And Ponder is in year 1,full time.
Ponder is well worth giving more time, and let's get some more talent around him.

Hey Childress, I was actually responding to one of Magnums posts. Im done with the clueless one, he is beyond help, a fake Viking fan with no football knowledge is not worth the time. But I agree, let the Vikes get a few more weapons in the arsenal and see what happens then. Im not willing to call it quits on anyone quite yet, without a complete team around them.

jimmy has never changed, back in 06 we got off to a 4-2 start with Brad Johnson,on winning weeks he wouldn't show up to Wed.,on losing weeks he was in the forum 3rd Q.In 09 we made the NFC championship,he bitched worse than now.Just thumb back to 06 or 09,it's all there.
It's just terrible that someone can be like that win or lose and consistently for all these years.Fake fan,no doubt.
The best way to dump him is to not read what he says, that way your not tempted.Plus he's not doing any real damage because we're all against him anyway. In other words,no need to defend your position.

OK, I'll lay off hitting the under hand lobs he throws out of the park. It's so easy it's getting boring.

Another way to get rid of him is to talk about all the non-QB positions. He only reads Bleacher Report articles on QBs and bases all his <cough, cough> knowledge on that. Talk about O-line bocking schemes, LB and secondary coverage and pre snap shifts and nary a peep is heard from him because he doesn't really know the game.

Stats as of today.
228 completions in 359 attempts.that's 63.5% completion rate.
6.1 yds per attempt.
13 TD's/9 pics
sacked 27 times
rating 82.0
Ranked 4th in the league,red zone....Bree's is #1.
What I need someone to do is,
of the 131 incompletions is to find out how many were dropped, ricocheted into a pic,Qb hurries, resulting in a lack of time. And things of this nature in an effort to come up with true #'s.
I remain convinced based on the above stats and watching him play, that we need to upgrade the OL and 1 more quality receiver.
I am not persuaded by people saying the Qb is the problem and can't back it up
not what so ever.
PROOVE IT.
I'm pretty sure those 131 incompletions is a difference maker
and
I'm pretty sure it's in Ponders favor.
Are you still going to defend Ponder?

I say yeah, draft a backup or trade for one.
There is no backup now anyway! But Ponder stays.
3-13 is a big hole to climb out of. And 8-8 looked optimistic not too long ago.
8-8 may be the finish. And thats progress.
Meanwhile, Avant has learned nothing..........
Meanwhile the Colts have climbed out of an even deeper hole than the Vikes. Why? Because they have what you would call a franchise QB! Andrew Luck has only started 12 games and he has surpassed all Ponders stats and most importantly wins! RGIII is also a year behind Ponder but you can’t tell it by his performances………. Even if you think I am premature in wanting a change what the organization can do is get a back-up QB. If you’re not going to play Web because he isn’t the answer, why is he occupying the second string position? This organization is really dysfunctional.

Luck and RG3 were touted as once-in-a-decade QBs.

And it looks like they will pay off. Ponder was never hailed as anything. Was he? I never heard of him.

Webb is a QB/WR but does neither. Ponder is in there because:

#1 QB-Ponder playing OK

#2 QB-Ponder sucking

#3 QB- alphabet (guy with long name)

The QB position has been vacant for 8 years. I think in 2004 Daunte threw for 40 TDs. Too bad for him Peyton Manning threw 50.

PF - When you can find multiple different sports writers pointing out the excessive amount of drops it shows the Vikings have a problem. The league leader in drops is Detroit. You don't think drops doesn't correlate to poor performance?
no. Not on ponder's part. It shows that receiver needs to go, though. One drop per game more than the best team on a subjective stat? No. It is an excuse. Spielman was a coward not to get RG3 and every sportscaster here in Minn is an idiot. Getting all the sheep_el to cry kalil. We needed boldness & got safety which insures mediocrity. For that we skipped a once in a generation talent. Wow

I'll stick with the upcoming.
ypa, chilly. This isn't little league where we are looking for a participation trophy on a qb that lives on dump passes. If Adrian can average 4 ypa, then ponder needs closer to 8 for success. Otherwise, don't pass at all. Pit in Webb and run option, lol

Hindsight is 20:20 PF. Tackles are important but they are long-term investments. If you got the right one, you should be set for 10-12 years
