This is Ponder's first year that he has had more then one guy to throw too. Harvin was the leading receiver in the NFL last season before his injury. Jennings is a YAC guy so Ponder's yards per game will go up & Simpson does have good hands & he doesnt have a injury this year. I think Patterson & Jennings will keep teams from stacking 8 in the box something Harvin couldn't stop & by stoping teams from stacking the run game could be even better then last season. All of this will happen if Ponder can prove to defenses that he's a threat with the ball in his hands.

Ponder's problem is not the receiving core it is his accuracy and jelly legs in the pocket. He tends to run after his first read. Percy Harvin's reason for leaving was our franchise QB. As everybody in every media outlet is saying Ponder has to play every game including at least one playoff game.

That's not correct. Percy had issues with Frazier not Ponder.

Ponder and Peterson won those last four games.

Harvin thinks he has hall of fame talent and it's probably true if he stays healthy and he is now with a great QB. Harvin lacked confidence in Ponder which was one of the reasons he left.

Nope. One has to take in account the rest of the team. A QB can't complete a pass if no one on the team can catch the ball. Or a front line to protect the QB. Or a play caller who knows when there will be time for a 5 step drop or just 3 steps.
Stats are not the full story.
It's obvious what kind of QB Ponder is, but if you insist that it's the Viking receivers that suck, gee, have it your way! Does it really matter to you so much that you have to lie to yourself? Why? Isn't it easier to replace one crappy QB than 5 or 6 crappy receivers?

What are you doing? Watching Viking games with your eyes open? I thought that was against everything most Viking fans believe in.

Why would he lack conidence in Ponder? Seriously, I don't need your answer, but apparently a lot of Viking fans do!

I hope Ponder makes you eat youre words. Were already way ahead of last year with a full compliment of recievers and tightends.Last year we had Simpson and Carlson injured from the get go.What did we have left but Jenkins,Aromoshodu and a disgruntled Harvin because Simpson was getting more attention than him.Thats because Harvin wasnt here early on and never really jelled. This year weve had everyone since day one. Were probably going to have to cut some good recievers. What a difference a year makes.

How do you figure Wilson is a great quarterback?Wilson only tied for 25th in pass attempts. His 489 rushing yards were third-best among QBs. However he passed for only 3,118 yards.Only Christian Ponder had fewer. And they didnt have the running game we did and they had better recievers in Sydney Rice and Golden Tate.Ponder will pass him this year I guarantee you.

The defense is what won games for Seattle just like when they beat the Packers.

Dont forget we also lost reciever Greg Childs as well to two torn patellar tendons.Add that to Carlson and Simpson.

The Vikings OC didn't call plays for Ponder to throw downfield. The Vikings passing attack was based on slots/screens and short throws only. Joe Webb came in and many had high hopes for him. Webb showed how inept the WRs were (and how bad he was), Ponder worked miracles with nobodies. Look who the Vikings beat in the final few games of the season. The NFL is about winning when it matters regardless of style. Ponder got it done and did everything the coaches asked of him. He had a few bad games but don't look at his passing yards and just say he isn't good enough. You have to look deep at a player than stats alone. So Ponder don't have the high stats he does win games what matters most to you high stats or wins?

The Vikings may be ahead of last year, but is Christian Ponder ahead of last year? And if he is, will he improve much at all, or will he still be the 4th best QB in the division? I know you harbor a fantasy that the Viking receivers will elevate the play of your average QB (I'm being generous) but the truth is that the Vikings new receiving corp isn't full of a bunch of miracle workers. You have guys that are either rookies, unproductive, or old and injury prone. That isn't the cast that will make an average QB great. But look at the bright side, Christian Ponder does handoff well!

All you need to know about Viking fans is they blindly follow a losing organization. Just like they turned a blind eye to harboring a Nazi killer for nearly the last 60 years. Maybe he's the albatross around the Vikings? Let's see? Have they won a superbowl since he arrived?

Be careful ... that delusional guy with the "NFL Championship" ring as his photo will start pontificating that the Vikings have already won super bowls ...

Oh my, a bit grumpy today?

Just saying the jury is still out on ponder.
