Green Bay Based on the evidence, the Green Bay Packers will enter the regular season with David Bakhtiari at left tackle, Don Barclay at right tackle and Marshall Newhouse on the bench.

Then it will be on coach Mike McCarthy and his offensive line coach, James Campen, to make it work.

An executive in personnel for a National Football League team said that Barclay would be the Achilles' heel of the Packers.

An opposing assistant coach said Saturday that if he were working for the Packers he would be most concerned about starting a rookie, Bakhtiari, against the murderer's row of pass rushers on his side.

The coach also brought up the name of the heroic Greek with the lone vulnerability.

"I think it'll be the Packers' Achilles' heel," the coach said, referring to left tackle.

Another personnel man said it should be obvious that the Packers are in considerable trouble at tackle.

"They've got two big play-makers outside, and they've both been hurt," said the scout. "Then you want to put all your eggs in (Jermichael) Finley's basket? Let's wait and see what he does under duress. And they're going to have to manage the left tackle and right tackle situation.

"It's not going to be just walk on the field and score 28 points every week."On Friday night against Seattle, the Packers encountered a top-five defense missing Chris Clemons and Cliff Avril, two excellent pass-rushing defensive ends. The Seahawks' third bonafide rush end, Bruce Irvin, played merely seven snaps.

Bakhtiari spent most of the first half against Benson Mayowa, a promising free-agent rookie. Barclay had a few snaps against the powerful Red Bryant, but more often than not his opponents were O'Brien Schofield, Mike Morgan, Jaye Howard and Michael Bennett.Having watched the two youthful starters for three games, one factor that stands out is how small they are by league standards. Bakhtiari is 6 feet 4 inches and 304 pounds, and Barclay is 6-4 and 307.

They knew for the last three years the Sacks Rodgers has taken & still they didn't draft a tackle . You know when the coaches are admitting the tackles are bad the slide is starting. I am right once again.... VIKINGD HO!

Yes they did with Rodgers on the sideline. That is where every team we face wants him, for good reason.

But are you sure they wanted to be tied 3-3 at half? I don't understand why. It must be an interesting theory. Tell me more.

Viking fans can say what they will, they can talk all the poop they want, we all know how they truly feel.
It is very simple and very easy for them to BACK UP all there big talk. They have been defending offseason champs for the past 30 yrs.
I will give all of you viking fans a chance to prove you truly believe what you spew.
Here is the bet.
-Packers win the NFC North you leave topix forever
-Vikings win the NFC North I leave topix forever.
Simple and fair.
You all know I am willing to back up my talk. Are any of you?
40?
BP?
ezg?
anyone?
no? why not?
I must give the local viking fans some credit. Perhaps they have a slight sense of rationale. NONE of them want to take my bet. That is a smart thing. They may be stupid but they are not crazy! LOL!!!!

Though they love their chirping, when it is all said and done their true colors show as they fail to back up their chirp chirp chirping. Hard to take them seriously at times but I enjoy their imagination and wishful thinking and high hopes and delusions during the offseason.

Week one: let's here your predictions.

Vikings at the Lions - Vikings 1 road win

Very close game could go into OT.

Packers at the 49's - Packers lose

Packers are never in the game.
The speed of the 49's is too much for the aging pack.

Week one

Vikings - 1 0
Bears - 1 0
Packer - 0 1
Lions - 0 1

Sunday's two games feature four teams that should be contenders for the Super Bowl: the Saints, now with Sean Payton (again), the Texans, who aren't playing Arian Foster in the preseason but certainly will in the regular season, the 49ers, who made the dang Super Bowl last year, and the Vikings, with Adrian Peterson making his preseason debut.

Most Viking fans are jealous cowards. None of the pathetic losers will take your bet because they know the Vikings are a crap team.

Vikings don't belong in that,"May get to the Superbowl group"....Ponder looked like he just started playing Qb.....Bet the Vikings draft a Qb first round, next spring?.....

In an earlier era, Ponder would've been just enough to make a team like the Vikes into contenders. But here in passhappy 2013, an elite QB is needed for contention. That ain't Sister Christian.

The offense is improving. We would have been in that game if the starters kept playing. One of those scores was special teams and 3 points came because of the fumble which I thought was pretty good considering we held them to three points after that.Ponder was staring to move the ball which is encouraging. We'll see how the Packers fare in San Fran.

What did the top half-dozen or so teams in each of the last 10 years have in common?

They had mostly elite QB play.

I gave you a fair bet that is equal for both sides, if you are to much of little girl to take the bet it is fine with me and I now fully understand that you understand your chances of winning are very small with the queens, but don't expect me to take less odds becasue you team "the queens" sucks donkey balls. It is not my fault the vikings suck.
no, you did not. I call things as I see them and the bears will win the division in my opinion. Why would I bet on Vikes? Again, I do not own Vikes, so why would I make a stupid bet? You simply know the pack will not win and you need to stay here, so you count on a push when neither Vikes nor pack win division. I want u gone, only way to ensure one of us is gone is pack v. Field! Stop praying for a push bet, hike up your skirt, take some anti-nausea medicine so you can stand to watch the on field violence and make the bet! U will feel more like a man pretending you have a pair.
