It's all about Webb

Full story: The Daily Norseman

What to do about our struggling offense? It's a difficult call whether or not to bench Ponder for Webb.

Webb is not the long term answer but with Peterson running better than ever Webb could be a playmaker.

At this point Ponder is not even a good backup.

Don't see that happening until after the bye. With our OC, Webb may be a better fit. Still, I would change up the OL 1st. Loadholt definately needs to be replaced on passing downs. If you can change DL on passing downs, why not OL? Someone needs to be able to pick up the blitz.

Rick Spielman was such a great QB evaluator when he was in Miami. I wonder what could have went wrong. NOT

Should have thought of that on draft day...saved the pick for something more useful than Ryan Leaf Jr....

Ponder right now is not accurate with a sore knee. He needs to sit and heal and let Webb play. Ponder lost all accuracy and power when he tweaked his knee a few weeks ago and keeps hurting it behind a crappy OL play {cough} Fusco {cough, cough}.

I'll take Bethel-Thompson over both Webb and Ponder. Webb is a runner first passer second. With Harvin and AP we have enough running. Ponder...well hes a halloween qb, looks the part well but nothing more.

If Ponder can't play with pain he's in the wrong business.

If Ponder does have a hurt knee like last year and in college he's injury prone.

Just like Jackson. Except it wasn't pain that was Jacksons downfall. It's just he couldn't play.

I coached a lot of baseball and softball so unlike Avant's dumb statement about playing with pain, I know what I'm talking about. A problem occurs when an athlete has some slight pain in there power leg knee or ankle but can still play. The play can handle the pain but their body fools them. A tweaked knee or ankle will try to protect itself. This is a subconscious action. When the player pushes off to throw it gives slightly which changes the release point and ends up with a high throw. I've video taped my players and showed it to them. They had to compensate by aiming a little lower or adjusting their footwork. When the injury recovered they'd have to readjust to get release point back to normal.

AP broke a collar bone in college, sprain an ankle and blew his ACL. Why no talk about him being injury prone. Oh that's right, because the Ponder jab came from a fake Vikings fan.

Same fake Vikings fan also thought Jahvid Best was a better draft pick that Toby Gerhary. Talk about injury prone. What he have like 6 concussions.

I know one idiot claiming the Qb regressed. My keen eye thinks the OC regressed after DC's figured out how simple, vanilla the game plans are.He doesn't' have one, pass wise.Wright needs to play and the offense needs to go deep, doesn't matter if it's caught, they need to spread the defense out and re-establish the underneath stuff.
Let's open this offense up,and I mean wide open.I'd be fine with a low completion pct.,at least we'll know for sure where things are. Just might save the OC's job, because he doesn't have one next year in Minn at this point.Maybe Frazier won't either.

Just checked, our deep threat guys are
Devin Aromashodu 10/151 15.1
Jerome Simpson 8/109 13.6
Yea,I'll take an upgrade at the position.By the way,I see some don't like Simpson, think other teams didn't like him.He was a FA,that's what happened and we got him.I'm glad we did,he's not elite but with an elite wr he's a good #2.
Harvin is not a deep guy, great slot guy.
Anyway,
time to go wide open and let's start being creative.Week in and out some unknown receiver has a big game. That's because teams didn't game plan for him and Minn needs to do the same in the passing attack. In fantasy league's I could score 250 pts a week,if i could figure out these unknowns having career days,Minn needs to get creative and surprising.

Yeah, I agree...once the season is offically in the tank. We know what Webb offers, not much as a passer....and we have a great runner in AD, as you stated. I've heard that Bethel-Thompson has a gun, so let's see how he does. I hope he's given that chance, for the Vikings sake.

If your going that route you might want a waiver wire Qb.
I'll go open the play book route for starters or draft another Qb if it's on Ponder.

We don't want you in the Vikings draft room anymore. We took your QB word and you gave us Tavaris Ponder. Always hurt, scared happy feet in pocket, jump pass is the only thing missing.
