Speaking of the same schedule..This year the NFC North plays the AFC North ( Pitts,Balti.Cin and Cleveland) and the NFC East ( NYG,Washington,Dallas and Philly_) correct?
GB also plays SF ( week 1) and i believe ATL and thats where the schedule difference comes in those 2 games.
Correct, the two teams are like you say, SF and Atlanta for GB. Minnesota plays Seattle and Carolina. A lot of experts are picking Seattle to upend SF, so maybe you are lucky to play SF instead of Seattle.
The SOS for the NFC North is:
Detroit ranked #2 with an opponent Winning percentage of .539
GB ranked #6 at .533
Minnesota #10 at .516
Chicago #16 at .502
Someone just predicted Detroit to come in second in our division, looks like they may have to earn that one.

<quoted text>I have watched most Newton games. The offense score enough to win the defense is why they lose. Why do you think the Panthers NEVER draft offensive personnel?
If the Vikings had Cam Newton we would be a super bowl candidate the last two years as far as game managers are concern give me Rodgers, Manning Brady, Newton, Rg3, Luck, Wilson, Kaepernick GAME DECIDERS you can have Ponder and Sanchez your GAME MANAGERS.
Lets start with the 2012 Panthers draft they had pick 9: Luke Kuechly, ILB then Traded Round 3, Pick 73 to the Chicago Bears for Tight End Greg Olsen In 2012 The Panthers failed to address the defensive tackle position, choosing to rely upon last year’s third-round draft picks Sione Fua and Terrell McClain When the bulk of the Panthers’ needs were on defense. The Panthers made poor deaft choices in in 2012 They should have went defensive then & didn't & this is way in 2013 having 5 draft picks they had to go defensive . Your right in sating the Panthers have one of the worst defensive units last season but its by there own doing not drafting defensive tackles in 2012. By the way if a team isn't drafting offensive players doesn't that tell you Cam had better receivers & offensive line then Ponder? But yet you defend Cam for having a poor defense & you don't defend Ponder for having poor receivers & offensive line.

Here is a good artical on why Harvin wasn't a good fit for the Vikings I have been telling friends this for two years....http://www.dailynorse man.com/2013/6/27/4471974/viki ngs-receivers-an-embarrassment -of-riches

I wonder if letting Harvin go wasnt in the plan before last season. Why would they draft Wright otherwise? They could have drafted a bigger outside reciever to compliment Harvin instead.

Wow, Desmond Bishop started all this? A guy who's played 69 games and made fewer than 300 tackles in 5 seasons (9 sacks, 1 int)? How this devolved into a discussion of playmakers and GMery is what's great about this site. He's decent when healthy, but it's not like we cut Chad Greenway. We've got 13 LBs on the current roster and I trust someone can tackle somebody.

IT maybe in how if falls as well.....We are in SF,if you are playing SEA at home, you got the better of the deal and id much rather play Carolina then ATL,,so Minn did get the easier of the 2 games.Again if falls in finish as well GB won the division,so Minn. got the slightly easier way to go.I seriously doubt the season will fall on it though.

Which begs to question, why did Detroit get saddled with the 2nd hardest schedule?

Because Detroit has to play GB and Minn.
As Minn has to play GB and Det
and
GB has to play Minn and Det.

Good point the Vikes might have known back then that Harvin as good as he is couldn't run routes & was more of a YAC guy then one that could stretch the field. We all seen Wright stretch field last season.

The Lions have to play the other teams in the division all of whom had better records. I would think that somebody that CLAIMS to be knowledgable about the NFL and it's scheduling system would understand that. I can explain it further for you if you don't understand how it works.

Instead of playing Arizona and Tampa, why couldn't they play Jacksonville and Kansas City? That would make an 8 game difference in wins for the opponent in just those two games dropping them from 2nd to 13th.
I realize they play all except two games against similar opponents, and the two teams they play are the bottom teams in their respective divisions, but a 4-12 team should not be playing the second most difficult schedule IMO.

You couldn't explain how a bottle opener works, go get another fictitious 'degree'.

I see your point for sure, but, playing the division ( 3 teams with 10 wins of more last season) wont or doesnt help their cause at all.
GB plays SF,
Minn plays Seattle
So Det plays Arizona to stay within the guide lines of it all im guessing....Why TB instead of Jacksonville or KC is another question.

If the NFL wants to ultimately make the whole league more even, then they would have to scrap the whole system as it stands. Obviously, strength of schedule changes year to year, but going off the previous year’s record still makes sense. I would be more inclined to use the whole NFL to mix in non-divisional games so as to even it out a bit, which is the purpose IMO. Not that I care about Detroit, but like I said, a 4-12 team should not be playing one of the most difficult schedules.

Says the guy that can't undertand how strength of schedules are calculated. I guess I understand why you are jealous of educated people that know about numbers and ciphering and such. Add it to your "envy" list. Tell me. Are you more jealous of Packer fans or of people with some schoolin?

Hey idiot. Check the SOS for all NFL teams. The bottom teams generally have the hardest schedules. Again, it is because they have to play the teams in their division twice all of whom had better records. The Panthers, Saints and Rams also have tough schedules based upon last season records. I can tutor you if you need the help. Math isn't nearly as difficult as you seem to make it.

Says the math guru who just got done admonishing Viking fans about our 'soft' schedule last year when the packers had a 'softer' schedule. College degrees aren't free with a fill; hate to break it to you.
