I'm expecting Ariz.,Jack.,KC.,to take a Qb early.Maybe in the 1st,maybe the 2nd round.
Here's the class,I'm listing 9 but there's more.
This is their rank as football players, not expected draft order.
10)Gino Smith-W.Virginia Sr.rd1 expected
18)Matt Barkley-USC Sr.rd1 expected
27)Tyler Wilson-Arkansas Sr.rd1 expected
43)Ryan Nassib-Syracuse Sr rd2 expected
50)EJ Manuel-Fl.St. Sr rd 2 expected
55)Aaron Murray-Georgia Jr.rd2 expected
62)Zack Dysert-Miami(Ohio)Sr rd2 expected
69)Landry Jones-Oklahoma Sr rd 2/3 expected
85)Tyler Bray Tenn.Jr rd 2/3 expected.
So let's here from the anti-Ponder people.take your pick.

So I just checked my mock draft site.
Gino Smith is projected to KC.
Matt Barkley is projected to Buffalo. Not on my most needy team.
Tyler Wilson to Ariz.
These are the only Qb's being mocked through 2 rds and all are off the board early.
So,who you drafting?
Or do you get pieces around Ponder?
I'm not in favor of a FA Qb.

Overall I'm not very impressed with what is shaping up to be a thin at the top QB draft class compared to last few years.

Of them all I'm most familiar with Aaron Murray as I watched a lot of SEC (Go Cockcs!). Murray plays in the same pro style offense that helped Matt Stafford go #1. Murray outplayed Stafford who improved each year to have a college best year of 3459 yds, 25TDs and 10 INTs. That was his only 3000+ year. Murray has topped 3000 for 3 straight years Comparing the two over 3 their 3 years played Stafford had 51 TDs, 7731 yds while Murry had 89 TDs 9664 yds and 29 INTs while throwing only 40 more pass attempts than Stafford.

Murray should be the 1st QB taken but I don't think he had the preseason hype Barkley, Jones, Wilson and Bray did and didn't put up the spectacular though misleading numbers Geno Smith did.

Barkley - fails to step up against tough Ds.
Landry - Lived up to hype but tends to be turnover prone against real tough D (see K State loss).
Wilson and Bray - Watched both and say great play at times but also poor decision making to the point of costing games.
Geno Smith - High percentage passer in a scoring machine offense. Hard to tell how productive he'd be without a very effective spread that has extremely fast WRs with some of the best YAC in the nation Think of having two Percy's on a team and that was WVU WRs Austin and Bailey.

Note - All the above is my opinion based on watching games by all the above players and not one based on Mel Kiper or the Bleacher Report. Can't help you with Nassib, Manuel or Dysert.

Forgot to add one thing. Barkely is hyped by USC's pro style offense. How's that working out for Sanchez?

If I had to pick the most reliable pro-ready QB I'd go with Aaron Murray. I bet after the combine his stock climbs. Right now he is held back in rankings by his 6'1" height.

Not on your list is Tahj Boyd from Clemson. He is from Hamtpon Roads in my area so I knew how good he was in HS. He is an under rated passer who tends to at times run too much but is a very accurate passer. He is also 6'1" but at 225 (and perhaps heavier) he takes hits like a fullback. Very strong in the pocket. I suspect when he gets his projected draft round from NFL advisory board it will be 4-7 and he'll stay in school for his senior year. I think he'll be a hot property in 2014. Not bad for an evil Clemson Tiger. Go Cocks!

Bills are a Qb needy team. Fitzpatrick is missing something that I can't put my finger on

Barkley was missing a OL this year, especially Kalil.I'm not impressed with USC Qb's in the NFL though.
Somehow I see Alex Smith and Andy Reid landing in Minn.
I like your take on Murray though. If the Vikings select a Qb.then i think he should be the guy,or get a FA while they groom the guy.Don't see having Ponder and another young Qb.

Alex Smith is the boring game manager that would work. And I see him on his way as well.

Andy Ried.......inexplicably took on dog killer Vick and its going to cost him his job. He announced today that Vick is on the pine until at least next year.

Ried......NOOOOOOooooooooOOOOO OOO!!!!!!!!!

Ried's handling of QBs has been very poor. He got a lot of miles out of McNabb.......but anybody good got away.

And Vick.........what was he thinking?

Where does Ried go? Where does Vick go?

We should really be studying Philly's roster because the fire sale is only a month away.

Why the talk of Reid? I think Frazier stays. However I'm starting to think Musgrave should be replaced. Just too simple and too predictable.

Totally. Offense is exquisitely dull.

I don't like this years qbs. I'd rather go defense and tell ponder to go verticle or go sit on bench and have Webb go verticle. Itakes no sense to have a short passing attack when you have Adrian. A short pass on leau of running the ball? No. Verticle, even. If incomplete.

PF - I'm finally going to agree with you. Based on mid 1st round I think a DT will be best player available. With Kevin Williams getting old this is an area of need. Don't think 1st round WR talent will be deep enough to warrant a WR after Keenan Allen and Justin Hunter are gone. Right guard is huge need but most OGs don't grade out as worth a 1st round pick and a 2nd or 3rd is better suited to fill that need if not filled in free agency.

yeah, a penetrating dt only, pls. A wideout might be ok, but it doesn't fix qb play any more than a premium lt fixes it. Alex smith has both, ponder has lt, gabbert has wr. Smith has cannon arm, poor play. Gabbert/ponder missing arm.

Raiders, Panthers, Titans and Saints all need L help and will likely go for 1st round talent. Raiders Panthers and Titans will all pick in top ten and will take DT's Star Lotulelei, Jonathan Hankins with one team going for a DE. DE leaving 3rd DT taken to the Saints. I think they'd go for Richardson. This leaves Jesse Williams, Georgia and John Jenkins, Alabama as the remaining 1st round talented DTs. Both are 3-4 NTs. I think Vikes need to move up to get a quality 4-3 DT or they'll have to go WR and look for DT in 2nd round.

Anyone know anything about Kawann Short from Purdue? All I know is he came up big when Purdue almost beat Notre Dame early in the year. Didn't see any other Purdue games after that.
