The name that escaped me yesterday.<quoted text>
Agreed on too much given for Patterson. A really dumb kid that won't ever be an integral part of the offence. Think Devin Hester; bigger and stronger but not as fast. He's immature and looked like a little boy wearing that tuxedo jacket. I'm not unhappy he's on the team as he can make a contribution but to give up a second, third and fourth is unforgivable. I think Speilman opened the champagne a little early when they drafted Floyd and got carried away with excitement.
If he was that good, why not use the second selection in the first round? I read a report a few weeks ago that the Vikings were "in love" with Rhodes so maybe he was on their list of preferred players but again why so much for Patterson? I think when Houston passed on him that the vikes looked at the other receivers and must have thought he was at least twice as good as the others and had to have him. WRONG!!! Woods is a true WR and will be a better pro for years to come when the Patterson experiment is nothing other than a bad memory. This smells like Frazier pounding the table for a playmaker to let Ponder dump and dink and keep him upright. If not him than whomever made the decision to pass on someone like woods in the second and not get a MLB (happy we didn't draft Teo) when that is a bigger need than WR should be fired.
Buddy Grant from 06????
