Johnny Manziel is just another tim Tebow. All hype no pocket accuracy.

If Avant is picking against him it can only mean one thing
Johnny M will be offensive rookie of the year

He Hate Me, you are aware that the Fake Vikings Fan (aka Avant) is really a closet Packers fan. He only comes here to troll. He has told us all of his desire for Rogers at one time or another.

Pay no attention to him, after all he was the one that said, "Tavaris Jackson will be a 10 time pro-bowl QB and a 2 time pro-bowl MVP".

We all see how that one worked out!

In essence, making Manziel our QB would make OC Turner irrelevant. Manziel doesn't follow the play-plan. Manziel has the tools, yes, but doesn't fit the scheme.

When a play breaks down & that happens more times then not Wouldn't it be good to have a QB that can improvise like Manziel.

All we can do is guess The way we evaluate players is vastly different then the way each team are judging them. How many times have you said Why are signing or picking that guy & turns out to be ok.

Since 06 my record in this forum in impeccable. When I say Manziel or any other QB will be a success or failure long time minnesota vikings forum members know not to bet against me.

Tim Tebow had a more successful career than Manziels will have. I don't want him on my team.

Manziel will be injury prone in the NFL. I saw him hurt his knee last year and was not touched. I had enough of an injury prone QB in Ponder.

This isn't about which QB is the best athlete but which player fits Norm's scheme best. Since Cassel was resigned, I would expect the QBOTF to be more that type of player. Manziel has proven he can play but so have the others. I don't think Manziel is another Luck but he could be a Tarkenton. Obviously better than what we have now.
HOWEVER, "IF" Manziel is that great, he will be gone and we get to choose from whom-ever is left. Chances are that the better QBs all will be gone. Anyone still on the board will be there 5 picks later. I see either a trade down or BPA, probably on defense.

You are not even close. In no way is Manziel a Tarkenton but if you were to say he was doug Flutie you would be on the spot.

You have fallen for the media's love affair with Manziel thought you knew football better than that. Stick with me I will find us the QB we need to lead us into the future.

Oh Fake Vikings Fan (aka Avant) you try so hard to impress the others but you can't. Why if we were to leave you in charge of getting the QB, you would probably have Tavaris Jackson starting and Duante Culpepper as the 2nd string backup.

You just can't hang with the big guns of the forum. You just don't have the mental fire power needed to compete. I know your probably only 10 or 11 years old (in your thinking), so leave the important decisions to those who know football. To those who have been correct time after time. To those that saw Tavaris Jackson was a bust from the word go.

I think I hear your mommy calling, she probably has cookies and milk for you to eat/drink. So go along now and don't be late for bed time.

Of course Manziel is no Tarkenton...Tarkenton threw wobbly ducks that I thought Grant wanted to shoot.

Anyone with a eye can see Manziel is talented....but the circus that comes with that....no way Zim puts up with that. Manziel just is not a team player. Egos will clash, Manziel will not throw to certain players, knowing it will elevate their status over his. Manziel can't help it, it's just how he is.

Carr, Garappolo, Mettenberg. This is a team sport.

5 reasons Manziel could be a Viking? I'll give you just 1 why he won't. Manziel himself.

Tim Tebow was talented but he can't throw just like Manziel. Both were great college QB's that's it.

Carr, Garappolo, Mettenberg are not franchise QB's either.

Tarkenton's passes got where they needed to go.

The Vikings won because of the Purple People Eaters, in spite of Ole Fran, not because of.....

Because football is a team sport, the QB must be only a part of the offense, not the whole offense.(see Denver in SuperBowl)

I am not a QB guru, never claimed to be but, since there is no clear-cut QBOTF in this draft, the Vikings will not draft a QB as their 1st choice unless they trade down and then do it.

AND...someone here needs glasses if they think Manziel can't pass. He (Manziel) has already proven that statement as FALSE.

Avant....time to Put-up or Shut-up. Tell me you are not betting only on Bridgewater...that's it?

I agree with you 100% I can see a trade happening With four pretty good QBs You can almost guarantee that the Vikes will get one of them. Even if three are off the board by the time the Vikes pick it would still be worth trading back a few spots. The Browns have two first rounds picks & their second round pick comes before the Vikes & you know they will take a QB with them picks so the Vikes has got to take a QB in the first round even if they trade or miss out on one of the top four QBs.

I am not a guru just a football junkie with a dumb opinion./ anyway thats my opinion I think Turner's system favors a QB with a quicker release & accuracy That's why Bridgewater Manizal or Carr would be a good fiit so if the Vikes end up missing out on one of them Garoppolo would be the next guy to take with his quick release & good midrange accuracy. They can get him in the later rounds so theres worry if he is a bust.

Can Manziel avoid trying to be a hero and taking risks ? I doubt it .

Football junkie with a dumb opinion....describes us both. Would I be upset if the Vikes took a QB at 8?....depends. Not Manziel, please. Sure, he can play but "HE" must be the SUPER-STAR. How's that going to go down with Adrian? With Zimmerman? I don't see Zim letting anyone be above the team.
By looking at the stats, the top QBs all have very close stats, percentage-wise. Attitude and coach-ability will make the choice. Why do you think Zim talked to A&Ms head-coach? If we do pick Manziel, I predict Zim will sit his ass, probably for a year, just to get his head on straight.
