First off Ponder didn't get to play in the only playoff game of his career. Everyone has said this about Ponder - That it wouldn't be a shock to see them turn to Cassel if Ponder isnt doing good this season. I just seen a Predicted Winner list on the first games of the season. They have the Vikings winning their first game, So that writer must think Ponder is better then this guy here. Who is right? maybe both are wrong. who really knows.

Ponder is getting a bum rap. Number 29? I think he deserves to be no worse than 27! ROFLMAO

BTW where is Rodgers on that list?

It's funny how the national media & GB/CHI/DET fans trash Ponder when he had almost identical numbers last season to Jay Cutler. Granted, Cutler has more of a track record, but he also has been playing in the pros longer. I didn't see GB playing Rodgers in his first couple of years. Ponder doesn't even have two full seasons of starts under his belt & he has played with a very questionable receiving corp up until 2013. Give the guy a chance!

Ponder, on Ron Jaworski putting him 27th in his QB rankings: "That ranking is probably rightfully so, with how I've played."

Agreed. Straight from the horse’s mouth.

He pretty much says he has sucked at playing QB, maybe he should become a WR too.

Who care what Jaws has to say about Ponder This is what Fran Tarkenton recently had this to say about Ponder, I think this is a big year for Christian Ponder. He had signs last year of being ready to play and he played well the second half of the year. We’ve got Adrian Peterson who is the greatest running back since Jimmy Brown. He’s the only running back I’ve ever said this, better than Jimmy Brown, I think he is. So, you get single coverage and that makes it good for the quarterback. Christian Ponder has got to step it up this year and prove he’s the guy. I think it’s a pivotal year for him. If he can play at the ability level that I think he has, I think that this will be a very special team this year.”

Like I said saying Ponder needs to step up is safe & if he dosnt, then they can say see I told you so & the same goes if he does well Then they all will say see I knew he had to step up his game this year & he did.

Ponder did have 2,934 yard passing last year not all that bad & that was playing teams like the 49ers, Seahawks, Texans, Tampa Bay, Washington. There is five teams with good defenses that is near half a season of play here. Not many teams had success in their passing game playing these team, So 2,934 yard passing isn't all that bad if you consider the teams defenses they had to play.

This is how much Jaworski really know about the Vikings, He said Ponder needs to make significant improvements as a pocket passer. Surprisingly, with Adrian Peterson in the backfield, he was not efficient off play-action. WOW Wrong Jaworski was wrong about the Play Action.... Ponder threw the second-most play-action passes in the NFL last season (165), according to ESPN Stats & Information. He passed for half of his season total of touchdown passes (nine of 18) on such throws. But he also threw four interceptions and took eight sacks, finishing with an 88.2 passer rating and a 63.2 Total Quarterback Rating overall in play-action. Really who cares wwhat Ron Jaworski has to say His facts are all wrong to start with.

I think it's funny last season Jaworski had Ponder one rating lower then this year But yet had the Vikings winning 10 games. He didn'r this year the amount of game the Vikes will win but from his rating of Ponder how off from last year could it be?

Maybe you didn't understand you rarely do. I was saying Jaws had Ponder ranking at 26 But yet still said the Vikings would win 10 games This year Jaws has Ponder's rankings at 27 one higher then last year Does this mean the Vikes will be a losing team No it doesnt. It's true that everyone has said the same thing about Ponder they all was in the same agreement last year also & was the Vikings a losing team No. If you did read Jaworski article He said that Ponder didn't do good on play action passes right well he was wrong all I did was point that out. Anyway ranking Ponder one higher then last year. means nothing just as it didn't mean nothing last year & that is my point I hope I made it clear enough for you to understand. hehe.... VIKINGS HO

Avant you asked what I seen in Ponder? Well I was reading about last season & how the Vikings started the season 4-1 & During that time Peterson had one game above 100 yards, and scored two touchdowns against Jacksonville. Peterson clearly didn't carry the Vikingson his back to start. That was all Ponder. In them first five games, Ponder completed nearly 69 percent of his passes for 1,082 yards and six touchdowns with only two interceptions. Lets not forget how impressive he was in the 49er game in week three also. Everyone only remembers the midseason & I agree with them, Ponder really didn't do much in them games & he look really bad in them games But It was only his second year & he did have a impressive start let's not forget this. & lets not forget the last four games of the season.. The Vikings was at 6-6 & needed to win out the last four games to get in the playoffs & in that stretch Ponder He completed 60.6 percent of his passes for 630 yards and four touchdowns to just one interception. All of you has said Peterson was the reason for the Vikes wins Not True. You see his stats in the first five games & during Ponder's rough stretch Peterson couldn't do it alone. This Sunday Ponder will only have 28 career starts & that being said I think he has done pretty darn good.
