Blair Walsh can kick Deep into the endzone. Walsh is going to help the Vikings defense alot By making teams start on the 20 yard line. Last year other team Avg run back on kickoffs was 30 yards. After one first down they was near midfield. This hurt the Vikings defense Forcing them to change their play calling. I liked picking Walsh in the 6th round. I had him in my mock draft as the Vikes 6th round pick. I know once everyone gets a look at Walsh kicking into the endzone or kicking a 50+ yard game winning field goal they will like the pick also

kickers don't populate the HOF, they are afterthoughts. He would have to do some amazing things to get in but Longwell hasn't. Only won 1 superbowl and had no real standout games. I can't see him getting in. Besides, if he did would he go in with Green and Gold or Barney Purple?

Thats true there is only three others kickers in the Hall. Jan Stenerud George Blanda Lou Groza But if any one deserves to be there its Longwell . He was the fifth-most accurate field goal kicker in NFL history, having converted 82.2% of his attempts. Its time to add some of the great kickers of the game.into the Hall. Justt look at the Games Longwell won for his teams That alone should make him a Selection. & Once Adam Vinatieri retires he should be a inductee into the hall of fame after his 5 years are up..

It just seems hard to justify putting a kicker in the HOF,but, Longwell was terrific. He did alot of his damage in the cold of Lambeau field. It does seem like he spent more years in Minn. then GB,so if he did make the HOF,Minn. would seem to be the team he would go as.
Id like to see when Brett Favre goes,( and no doubt,he should go as a Packer)are they going to twist his arm to go in as a Packer?Since he and Ted Thompson share pleasantries and such civility toward each other.

Longwell started playing for the Packers in 1997 through 2005 He started for the Vikings in 2006 through 2011 Lomgwell played 9years for the Packers & 6 years for the Vikings I think for sure Favre will get in the Hall of Fame. who knows if he gets in in his first ballot or not I think he should He did win one superbowl He holds many NFL records, including most career touchdown passes, most starts . They have got to let iron man Favre in & it will be as a Packers & Longwell also should go in. I dont know if a player can get into the Hall under two teams But I wouldnt mind it if Longwell did if its possible

Did you hear Wisconsin legislature on Wednesday that will officially mark Dec. 12, 2012 as a statewide "Aaron Rodgers Day."The day, on the date of 12/12/12 to correspond with Rodgers’ Packers jersey number

Longwell was just too old and expensive. 3 mil for an old kicker on a team trying to get younger is just too much.

It was a nice move on the Vikings part to cut him before camp though, so he can try to catch on somewhere.

Maybe he'll retire and pursue his golf career?

Gary Anderson should be enshrined in the Vikings HOF for his accuracy. He hit the goalpost like a sniper in the 1998 NFC Title game

Yes they should. I dont think Kickers get the credit they deserve. The QB always gets all the credit for driving across the field. even if its a winning field goal that wins the game.

Theres not a question Favre will get in 1st ballot and he should go in as a Packer but, like we all have seen he and TT,well......I do know about Longwell,it just seemed like Ryan kicked in Minnesota longer. If Longwell did go in,i do wonder if he had a chance to choose, who would he choose? Minnesota because GB let him go ( FA) but who knows how hard GB went after him,or just let him go without effort ect. or GB since he had a lot more big kicks there.
