What has Romo done to deserve a 100+ million dollar deal? He has won one playoff game and McNabb won nine! The only SB Romo has been in has been in the stands.

Romo will never see the last 3 years of that contract. That said if the cowboys didn't sign him and lets him go to free agent I would take him as a viking.

Jerry knows other teams would take him in a heartbeat he was looking at his Qbr stats not playoff wins or SB wins his Qbr stats don't lie but cowboys do need to fix the oline for sure

Donavan McWifeBeater just needs to go away. Where was the outrage when Philly paid a recently released felon over $100 million?

First place they never payed Vick 100 million. Since your facts are wrong I've disqualified everything you have said.

Stop listening to talk radio for your information.

Go back to the minnesots forum you troll. And hows's your stud running back Best doing in detroit? he sucks. You need to get a different coin to flip when making your expert choices. oh yeah

Aug 29, 2011 Eagles give Michael Vick a new six-year,$100 million contract ... that Vick's cap number will now go from $16.2 million to $14.4 million in 2011.

When you say Eagles gave Vick 100 million means he has 100 million in the bank. He will never see 100 million.

Just like Tony Romo will never see 106 million. Stop playing the talk radio game. It's how much money they receive not what the contract says. Rarely do players receive what the contract says. This is a talk radio subject to get people like you outraged at money athletes get.

Thats you Avant, telling me how I think. All the $100MM is represents a soft commitmennt, but a commitment nevertheless. Until a stronger CBA is negotiated, nobody will ever see the entire notional value of their contract. Baseball players and NBA players have guaranteed contracts. btw these dollars are very small compared to what I deal with and no I don't get enraged. With the NFL its all about getting paid now as it should be. I actually like the non-guaranteed aspect because you have to perform or you get waived/restructured unlike baseball where a hangnail can put you on the 15 day IR. Connecting the dots a little, the huge lawsuit hanging over the NFL gives the NFLPA more leverage than ever before to start making inroads to guaranteed contracts. Rest assured they won't be $100mm guaranteed, more like $25 guaranteed over 3 years with incentive opportunities beyond that

Bottomline, the Cowboys can part ways with Romo after 3 yrs. Yeah, he will get his guarateed money, but not the 108 million he signed for. If he does not perform after 3 yrs., with an OL than can protect him, then cut him. Period! Gosh he will be 40 by then anyway. There are no other options for the Cowboys at qb! They missed out on getting Alex Smith from the 49er's.

Yea that's the thing, there was nobody else proven and available for the Cowboys to pick up and Alex Smith wouldn't have been better than Romo either but McNabb did have a point...Romo is not worth that kind of money because the guy wilts when it matters most.

Then JJ's other option was to sign Romo for 1 yr., see how he does, and hope to get a great qb in the draft next year (aggie Heisman qb), or see what veterans are available.
