@40for60, if you bothered to actually read about the offers that Allen got, then you would know that he signed with the Bears for less than what Oakland offered. So, it was more than just money. Being a bit informed can save you from looking foolish.

I'm also sure that he didn't sign for free just to come to the Bears. He is also looking at the team that will get him to the Super Bowl. Where if you will recall the winner gets a hefty pay-day. So yes money did play a very large part in the decision and pride was a close second.

Unless you have better information, Allen WAS offered more money per year from Oakland, but number of years and guaranteed money was not reported. I'm still inclined to believe he took the best offer, and the most guaranteed money.
Help me out with why you know his offer was better from Oakland, because the talking heads say so? Or do you have better information than I?

Allen also turned down a offer from the Seahawks for less money So he was after the money no matter what you might be reading Dont be fooled. The Bears had the best to offer for Allen The Raider offer to Allen was 9M a year not a lot more then the Bears offer. Some say he Allen turned down that Raider offer because of the Raiders not having a quarterback in place, They didn't have Matt Schaub signed at the time & if that's true Then why didn't Allen take the Seahawk offer that was less money then the Bears offer They the seahawks have a super bowl QB right. I think it was about playing time First & Next the best chance of getting to a super bowl. With the Seahawks Allen wouldn't get the same playing time that he is going to get with the Bears & the Raiders didn't have a chance of getting to super bowl so he took the Bears offer that gave him both.

March 21, 2014 - Jokeland traded for Schaub

March 26, 2014 - agreed to a four-year contract with the Chicago Bears.

Some say Allen turned down the Jokeland offer because everyone knows Schaub sucks more than Cuntler.

Speaking of which, I have a hot lead on a QB prospect. He is the right color too.
