1)QB must be a senior
2) must be a graduate
3)3 year starter
4)23 wins
With the 9 QB's we discussed in the 26-27-60 rule,we'll continue here.
Criteria 1) Newton,Mallett
Gabbert graduating early.
criteria 2) Locker,Kaepernick,Stanzi,McElr oy,Ponder,Dalton,graduating with degrees.
Criteria 3) only McElroy missed.2 yr.starter
Criteria 4) 23 wins
Kaepernick-33 wins
Stanzi-27 wins
Ponder 22 wins but injured 1st year,I'm putting him in.
Dalton-42 wins
drum roll
Locker-Wash.fails 26-27-60 rule,fails Parcell principle
Kaepernick-Nevada failed 26-27-60,passes Parcell
Stanzi-Iowa Failed-passed
Ponder-Fl.State pass-pass
Newton-Auburn fail-failed
McElroy-Alabama pass-fail
Dalton-TCU pass-pass
Mallett-Arkansas failed-fail
Gabbert-Missouri pass-failed
So if you believe in these systems we're down to two
Dalton and Ponder
Ponder has an injury history
Dalton looks to be our 2nd round franchise QB. or not.
The 26-27-60 rule can be found under that thread.

Patroits, Jets, Dallas, Dolphins. Been over 16 years since Parcells won a SB. He is overrated.

One man made Bill Parcell his name is Lawrence Taylor.

So Lawrence Taylor scored the 39 points in the Giants first SB win? Idiot.

Parcells turned around winless Giants to 2 time SB champs. He moved on to Patriots and took a team who hadn't been to the playoffs to another SB. He then took ho-hum jets from non-playoff contenders to an AFC championship game. When he moved on to the Cowboys the Dallas boys did their usual best to screw things up. Even so he had a winning record with them after going with less than 6 wins in each of the three years prior to Parcells. Leading Miami's draft and personnel decision he turned them around from 1-15 to 11-5, worst to first, in one year.

You are so stupid sometimes it is just pathetic.

This is interesting.
Didn't Parcells have a role in selecting Tony Romo for Dallas back when he was the head coach there?

Got to remember that Jerry Jones never gives up full personnel control to a GM or head coach. HE is the most heavily involved owner in the draft room.

Wow! Childress, it would really be something if you exactly pinpointed the QB by use of the 26-27-60 rule and the Parcell principle. This is all getting really interesting.

Welcome to our world Dan. Avantard never ever looks anything up. He bases his thoughts on whatever he hears on BSPN.

I once accused him of having Mel Kipper's hand up his colon making his lips move.

So-called turning a franchise around means nothing unless a SB is won.

When Parcells won his last SB, 100 yr old Ronald Reagan was president. You were wearing Acid Washed Jeans, Member Only Jacket and a Mullet.

Giants also had Lawrence Taylor, the best defensive player of all time. You could have coached that team.

Here you go again spouting off without doing your research, 1. giants won the super bowl in 1990. 2. reagan has been out of office since 1988 and was 77yrs old. 3. the giants had a good offense to go with the defense so it took a TEAM effort

This is almost perfect.

I'll fix the rest for you.

In post #37 of Childress' "26-27-60 rule" thread I posted a list of QB's that I compiled from some Minnesota Vikings threads that had posts suggesting QB's that could start in 2011 and be part of a short term solution until a future franchise QB could be put into place later.

I applied the "26-27-60 Rule" to them and would like to now apply the "Parcell Principle" to them.

If I left a name off please let me know.

I uses wikipedia.org to research these QB's but wasn't able to find complete information. If anyone can fill in the blanks please do. Or if anyone knows a website that has all the info please let me know.

Missing Information:
*Must be a graduate (Kolb, McNabb, Orton, Palmer, Stanton, Young, Webb)
*23 wins (Orton, Palmer, Ramsey, Stanton, Webb)

Based on what Childress says the "Parcell Principle" is
1.) QB must be a starter
2.) Must be a graduate
3.) 3 year starter
4.) 23 wins

So did these NFL QB's meet those requirements?

Here goes..........

*Jay Cutler: passes 1, 2, 3 and fails 4 (FAILED)
*Kevin Kolb: passes 1, 3, 4..........need to know #2)
*Matt Leinart: passes 1, 2, 3, 4 (PASSED)
*Donovan McNabb: passes 1, 3, 4..........need to know #2)
*Kyle Orton: passes 1, 3..........need to know #2 & #4)
*Carson Palmer: passes 1, 3..........need to know #2 & #4)
*Patrick Ramsey: passes 1, 2, 3..........need to know #4)
*Drew Stanton: passes 1, 3..........need to know #2 & #4)
*Vince Young: passes 1, 3, 4..........need to know #2)
*Joe Webb: passes 1, fails 3..........need to know #2 & #4)

Michael Vick may have been a suggestion, but I don't know for sure, so I left him off the list. But just in case, Michael Vick FAILED all 4 of them.

Tim Tebow was a suggestion and he PASSED all 4 of them.

So guys, if the "26-27-60 Rule" and "Parcell Principle" works for college draftees, maybe they'll also work for determining if a QB already in the NFL will be a good temporary grab for the Vikings.

Putting way too much thought into 26-27-60 rule. First off it isn't a rule it a theory. Also it wasn't created by a coach, GM or someone who actually evaluates players. It was created by John Lopez a writer for Sports Illustrated. Probably the only article people even remember from him. Peter King and Don Banks are the big boys for SI on the NFL. Other than this theory I can't tell you anyhting else Lopez may have written.

This thing falls flat starting with the Wonderlic scores. The Wonderlic wiki page says there has been no proven correlation between QB success or lack of success and their Wonderlic score. I think coaches like it just a a guage on how much effort they'll have to put in to teaching complex playbook a young QB.

Most interesting thing about Wonderlic scores, the highest average by position is by offensive tackles. So much for the sterotype of big dumb jocks.
