Souhan: Bench Ponder and you just might win that game

Dec 2, 2012 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: Star Tribune

Christian Ponder yanked off his jersey and slumped in front of his locker, alone as a man can be in a room packed with 100 people.

Just love the assumption that all of this falls on one players shoulders.

I didnt see the defence stopping the Pack in the fourth quarter while the Packers held the ball for over 11 minutes on a single possesion.

I didnt see the receivers getting open.

Great Game for A.P.
However, I'll take the end result anytime.

Let's face it, the Vikings just dont have enough talent to win consistently.

In fact, at the beginning of the season, a number of my fellow fans had the Vikings going 5-3 or 6-2 the first half the season and ending up 6-10 or 7-9.

The hard games all came or are coming since November 1st.....and it appears the pretenders are beginning to differentiate themselves from the contenders.

Get over it and figure out how to get more talent for next year.

Minnesota needs a deep threat. No complete passes to a WR until 3 or 4 Minutes left in the game wont win to many of them.Percy was out, but, thats another reason why Minnesota needs to spend some cash on a WR or draft one.

I think we attempted 15 passes in 3 quarters.
WTF??????????
Fire the OC,get some receivers.Ponder needed to step up in such a big game, but 15 passes? That's on the OC no matter who is throwing and catching.

The OC has no imagination. I've been waiting for years for pitchouts, student body left and right, traps, trap draws, regular draws, delays, flea-flickers, reverses, double reverses, inside handoffs, shovel passes, halfback passes, the statue of liberty.

Even on the radio....this team is predictable.

Souhan wanted kalil. Somehow, 3 or 4 less sacks was supposed to fix ponder. CJ gave up 7 last year. Idiot sportswriter.

we have an inexperienced, big armed option read pistol qb on the roster. But that can't win, I was told for last three years.

It is not just Ponder that sucks. Most of the team sucks but none more than the WRs. Not one could beat single coverage until the game was in the bag.

I feel bad for AD. Maybe next time he will run for 300 yrds and they win... it is up to you AD destroy the Bears!!!!

So what. Throw the guy open. Or throw a jump ball. Just do it downfield. You don't combine a power running attack with what teams without a power running game use - a short possession passing attack. Ad is not a complement to dink passes. Play action bombs away.

Just listen to Fran Tarkenton talk about Ponder. In the interview he seemed to think that Ponder nees to prove himself with the remaining part of the season or the Vikings have to address this issue in the draft.

He talked about some of his mechanics and his uneasyness in the pocket.

Just some food for thought.

KFAN says Ponder announced he's getting married.

I wonder if that is distracting him.

If it is, he could be having the first wedding without a reception.

WPIX NYC says Tebow announced he's getting laid.

If all goes as planned, it will be his only score of the year.

Throw the guy open? What a bunch of BS!!!! He is not Rodgers!

Throw a jump ball? WTF? To who Randy Moss? What Vikings WR can “jump” and catch at the same time?
Simpson? DOH! LOL!
Jenkins? Yeah right!
Wright? Wrong!
Harvin “was” good but he is always injured and I suspect he quit for the year because he is a cancer.

Bombs away!!!! Bull Crap!!!! You have ZERO WRs that can catch a bomb against 1 on 1 coverage. They could try it, but you would cry because it will be INTed or way off the mark!

The Vikings have WAY too many losers at WR. It is a passing league nowadays. The Vikings cannot pass at all. Not one of the active WRs would make the Packers roster.
