100 percent right Peterson should not play next year in fact when he got hurt he shouldn't been playing last year.

I dont agree & this is why Peterson Comes from an athletic family as mother, Bonita Jackson, was a track and field star and father, Nelson Peterson, was a collegiate basketball player at Idaho. Peterson is Superman is the only word that fits if you compare Peterson to to the others that had the same ACL tear take a look. Peterson, Mendenhall and Jamaal Charles — will remain under the microscope as the offseason slowly inches toward the opening of training camps in late July. Each appears to be at a different juncture in their recoveries. JC, who shredded his ACL last September, is 80-percent healthy. Mendenhall, just five months and change removed from his setback, is only jogging lightly. And then there's the alien Peterson. The rusher, whose knee-buckle soured owners' eggnog last Christmas Eve, has overcome incredible odds to get back to basic football activities. He has ran with Harven on the Field up hill.some people are quick healers & AD is one of them He Know how to train. I know history tells us even if Peterson is Far from a sure thing Coming bacl form a ACL., Deuce McAllister, Terrell Davis and Jamaal Anderson all experienced a considerable decline in production coming off ACL injuries at a similar age (27). Still, every comeback is different and Peterson's reclamation up to this point has exceeded everyone's wildest dreams. He may not be a 100% Come the Jags Game & maybe should hold off to the Lions game But if Peterson still has his Speed & can make all of his Cuts I dont see why the Vikings should sit him out the year.

Read the article. If he's put on Pup and can't play for 7 weeks, why play him for the last 9?We are definitely still rebuilding,so no sense risking him,let him fully recover. Now if by some miracle we're in the hunt and he's cleared when eligible to return, maybe.

PUP is PUP,can't play for 7 weeks if the Vikings put him there.Do you think we'll be taking the division? Then why risk him like they did by bringing him back last Dec.?How did that work out for our Superman?

Peterson's injury takes one year to return. Why speed it up? Let Ponder and the young vikings get experience maybe 2013 we can make a run for it with a healthy AP.

Peterson coming from an athletic family remember Archie Manning? He was athletic his son's are stiff as a board.

ezg357, I will go back 40 years to make a point.

Playing Peterson is who's decision?
If Leslie is coaching for his life this year, don't you think he'll put AD in the lineup at the earliest possible moment?
Don't kid yourself, if it comes down to losing the head coaching job, or taking a chance on AD' knee, AD's knee will be on display.
Now if someone in the organization can override Leslie, be it a doctor, Speilman, or Mark Wilf, I think that's what it will take to keep AD off the field.
Remember this, AD WANTS to be on the field opening day.

Daily Norsemen, story says he will be placed on PUP.Another injury would definitely get the coach or whoever makes THAT decision fired,if there was another set back.Plus, let's say high ceiling is 7 wins, low ceiling is 4 wins, why bother chancing it?

I'm not advocating playing AD, just that there are many different variables working here. Leslie will/should field the players that give Minnesota the best chance at success and that will always include AD for the foreseeable future. When will they place him on PUP?

IF the doctors say Peterson ACL is Fine There isnt any need to hold off to next season I myself Was shot through my hand & forarm overseas I was told it would take a year or more before I could use it again IT took me 5 mos. Times has changes At one time it took a year but with the rehab & the will of the person & each person heals differnt. IT all depeneds on what shape the person is in. If you dont work out & faver the leg or arm like in my case It will take that person longer to heal. So like I said if the doctors give Peterson the OK saying he can play then he can. You cant say it takes a year because thats whats the books say., You are not Peterson. anyway I dont think Frazier will let him start the first game But week 3 the lions game if doctors had said he is ready I dont see why he cant. other that had a ACL tear didnt have there speed back & They couldnt make their cuts & this is why there AVG. went down.

Dilfer is a career 55% passer with a losing record and more INTs than TDs. He only had one season with more wins than loses. He sees the potential in Ponder who will have a better career than him. Dilfer is a bitter 2nd tier QB who isn't a good analyst. Not worth listening to.
i think he was pick 6 in round 1 & has a ring. He just played for a team without wr's or almost any passing offense. I don't like his analysis, but he was a better prospect than Ponder & has one more ring than the Viking franchise. Hopefully, Ponder can change that.

Actully he was a bust of a pick.Ponder can do no worse than the horrible Dilfer and Dilfer in the S.B. was 12/25 lol 153 yds bigger lol and 1 TD.
The Ravens defense all year was the show and Ray Lewis was S.B.MVP,it's usually a QB but Balt. didn't have a qb worth a shit to get the award.

Well lets say Dilfer was on a winning team He Didnt throw a lot of INTs that year Its not always about how many yards But how good is the QB at controling the Game. & Dilfer did that so he does deserve some of the Credit I think. As far as his opinion on Ponder I dont see how he can say what he said when other QBs like Steve Young Said its just early to tell but in collage Ponder was one one the Top QBs coming out.

Managed and barely. The run game and defense did it all.Any bone headed qb could have fared as well.
Troy Aikman did a lot of Viking games. He was up close and personal, how many S.B.'s did he win?He said the Vikings have their qb in Ponder, and I'll take his word before these other two QB's.
