Now that Green Bay is out, Bring them on...PLEASE NOT DOM CAPERS AS HC. Defensive coordinator OK, but not head coach. I'd be willing to give Philbin a shot, but wouldn't be surprised if he'd rather take the year off after the tragedy with his son.

Not D coordinator or HC...capers is awful. Greenbays defense is terrible...the only reason they havemade plays on d is because they have players that are students of the game, they will make plays no matter who is coaching. No to capers! Capers is probably a bettet HC than D coach.

The Raiders have requested to interview Dennis Allan and Mike McCoy of denver. Maybe yes to Mike McCoy. NO to Dennis Allen as his D ranked 31st in the NFL.

Correction: Dennis Allen's defense was 20th overall. Which was better than ours, so he's better than what we had. I just want somebody that will help us win games and give him a minimum of 5 years to produce improvement unless things are bad after 2 years.

I think this is an issue and part of the Raider problem to begin with...you have 5 years to improve, but you will be fired within 1-2 if you dont improve...

Since we seem to have a few Raider fans here... now that Al's gone, who's running the Raiders now? Who hired Reggie McKenzie? Honest question.

What's just insane is that Tom Cable was there for 3 years including his interim and did improve and was still fired.
Since Gruden there was
1. Bill Callahan went from first to worst in 2 years
2. Norv Turner 2 double digit losing seasons in a row
3. Art Shell took a step backwards after we thought it was impossible in 1 year
4. Lane Kiffin wasn't really given a chance to establish himself after 1 year and found out he wasn't in it for the Raiders and was canned 4 games into his second season
5. Tom Cable was named interim HC after Kiffin's dismissal and was named HC for 2 years after that so he pretty much got 3 years which is what you really need especially in the state we were in and was still fired despite going from 5-11 to 8-8...Seriously he should've been given a 3 year extension at least
6. Hue Jackson went 8-8 pretty much picking up where Cable left off and wasn't even given a chance to build upon that.
Overall: I think Al Davis's coaching carosel was ridiculous, but if whoever Reggie McKenzie brings in doesn't give us a winning record for 2012, I won't be impressed. He already fired a guy after 1 year when everyone before him got at least 2 with exception to one guy that took a step backwards and another that did it to himeself. An 8-8 team has a better chance to become a winning team in one year than a 4-12 team and it takes a new coach at least 3 years to show what he's capable of doing with a team. Bottom line is that if he's getting better, he's worth giving another 3 years or more to, where as if he's getting worse or staying the same, he's not. 1 year at 8-8 is not enough

This is true...8-8 is a good place to start from

But I dont believe you can judge a coach just because of what other teams are doing within thier first year after coaching changes...seen a few "hope we land the next Jim Harbaugh" comments...

Example, 49ers...once in a while you get lucky and land the right guy who is a perfect fit at the right time..but who is to say he doesnt suck next season....

Example, Raheem Morris (Bucs)...10-6 his first year to 4-12 his second and fired...

Changing coaches every 2 years hoping to land the "perfect fit" isnt working...maybe that is the problem...stop signing crack pot coaches and do some better research for the long term....the roll of the dice plan is failing....

I heard a familiar name today...Darren Perry. Perry is currently Green Bay's DB coach. He was our DB coach from 2007-2008. Our DBs were good back then.

here is a coach that the RAIDERS would make me happy to get. saints 0-cordinator pete carmicheal jr.
now, i know we need a d brees to make that happen. and i know palmer is capable of getting it done as they do in new orleans.
and the D?, well they can work into that later. but first thing's first, interview him fast cause other teams are checking into him.

The OC from Philly interviewed with us and right about when he took over at OC was when Philly started going down hill...Then again, he may be all right as a HC if he gets out of Andy Reid's shadow.
