Suck for Luck: Colts, Dolphins Frontrunners for Andrew Luck

Oct 24, 2011 Full story: International Business Times 29

While no team would ever admit to purposely tanking a game, it's hard to justify the pitiful performances by the winless Miami Dolphins and Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

For those who think suck for Luck is a sure thing, let me give you a name: eli manning. Think about it, it could be a reality. Why would this kid come to the Dolphins given what has occured in their not too distant past? You have an owner who is smitten with celebrity, or flies out to the west coast to hawk a free agent college coach, lies to the fans when he gets caught, takes any credibility from his coach, covers his mistake by giving that downbeaten head coach a contract, has a less then mediocre general manager who has blown draft choices and failed to take advantge of drafts, a team that can't win, trashes its quarterback openly in the media, or a city that is so desparate for some credibility in ownership, coaching, and players. If you were Luck, would you want to come to Miami? Or would you hope for a team that had a better chance of at least getting into the playoffs? So please, stop with the suck for luck crap and find a way to win.

The Fins will continue to suck if they cannot draft one of the top 3 QB prospects in the 2012 draft--be it Luck, Barkley, or Jones.

Teams in today's NFL without great QBs are doomed to failure.

Teams with pisspoor QBs should keep drafting QBs in the 1st round til they hit on one that's great.

Drafting Centers and CBs and DTs with your 1st round pick while having Henne as your QB gets you the 2011 Fins.

Well... crap.
Honestly, when the Colts can't even beat the Titans, especially on a day when Curtis Painter is the game's leading rusher, then who the hell can we beat?
The remaining games on the schedule are not looking good. Jacksonville is the only team remaining that I think this team stands a chance against, but they play the Colts tough and MJD always has a career day against us.
Sorry Miami, but if you want Luck yo are going to have to make Chris Polian an offer that he can't refuse.

Take a look at the rest of the Fins schedule...

Their last real hope was against Denver. D'oh chit.

To be clear, I am not in favor of the Colts drafting Luck, unless they have some indication that Peyton doesn't play next year.
Ideally, I would like to see the Colts get the #1 pick, and trade it to Miami for a bunch of draft picks.
Then the Colts build a solid Defense to help Manning get another ring before he retires.

That's why Sparano is gonna be up in Hartford breakin' knee caps for the vowel guyz next year, while Luck is gonna be in Miami and tutored by a real head coach (Gruden, Fisher, even Cowher--remember how Saban was NOT gonna be the next Alabama HC?).

Pairing Luck with Sparano would be like pairing Mario Andretti with a Chevy Vega wagon.

Fistpumping and saying "Gotta watch da tape" 100X like an idiot savant is NOT coaching. He's gone.

Not Fisher or Gruden--they're used to working with clinically insane ownership. And money talks.

Gruden recently signed an extension on his contract with ESPN, so I doubt he's coaching anywhere anytime soon, besdies he's only a good coach when he can come in and take over a team on the up-swing. I would not want Chuckie trying to rebuild my franchise.

Gruden's ESPN contract has an opt-out clause for taking another coaching job.

I got reservations myself about Gruden---what young QB has he ever developed? His greatest claim to QB fame was a mid-late career Rich Gannon. Gruden also developed a rep for being kinda a PITA with QBs. He and Jeff Garcia didn't get along.
