NFL Rumors: Should The Minnesota Vikings Pursue Stanford Routt?

The Kansas City Chiefs made a fairly surprising move on Monday by waiving veteran cornerback Stanford Routt.

It all depends on if his strengths fit what Minnesota is missisng. Cut from a good team or bad team means little if they aren't using him correctly. McFadden is a prime exampke,, Knapp isn't using the right scheme for McFadden to flourish. McFadden's numbers are down, does that mean he sucks?

mcfadden sucks right now! but yes, you are correct RF. and? s routt was better used in oakland! but if we are not interested in him, than, who gives a ....!

I'd have to say no to this one. He has problems with his hamtringd and he's got a little age on him.

I'd rather let the season play out and get one in the draft if need be.

Agreed. Just keep adding young players through the draft & then PLAY THEM!

McFadden doesn't suck, its the scheme he is in. it changed and not condusive for him. If they went back to the old scheme and were heakthy....he would be putting up better numbers.

(lol), yeah i meant he sucks right now "with the knapp scheme". but would you give him another year here with his year to year injuries? he contributes when healthy. the question is, how long or how many games will he contribute before he injures "again". dmac says he can't help the injuries that it's part of the game. i understand he wants to contribute to the game and can't help the injury thing, but he's injury prone! like jason campbell, pretty decent (qb), but injury prone. dmac gets paid pretty good i believe? but hardly plays. think he'll fall into the mckenzie overpaid players thing? i like dmac, "when healthy" even if he can't do great under knapp's scheme. but we have players like goodson that has been able to rack up yards and is not even the starter? and is under the knapp scheme too. too bad they both got injured at the same time.
