Tim Tebow: Icon's Career as NFL Quarterback Is Not over Yet

After a season spent largely gathering dust with the New York Jets - he attempted just eight passes and rushed for only 102 yards - Tebow appears to be on the verge of being released. Full Story

Please remember, Tebow CHOSE TO GO TO THE JETS. He wanted to be at the epicenter of the media mecca. He wanted all New York cameras on him 24/7 and their journalists writing about him round the clock. What he should have wanted instead was the desire to get better as a passer and cut the sh!t and just be a footballer instead of all this outside mess.

The cocky SOB really thought he could go to the Jets with his circus and supplant Sanchez either with his skill or with his fans clamoring.

Man, was he wrong.

He went there for one reason..... To Play. He knew sanchez sucked, and he knew he was much better, and would be able to play. He was right, Sanchez sucks, but Tebow can't control when he is allowed to play. I should also add that Ryans job as a coach is to win,but he wasn't interested in winning. He was interested in proving himself right that his choice of Sanchez was correct.

It is better to be tought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

The principle of this maxim is why Ryan aka "I suck Mark's woody and dream of him nailing my wife" weirdo could not start Tim after not starting him by week 6. If he would have started him they would have won and then him would not just look like a weirdo and ignorant fool....there would b no doubt!

Just like the bronco's. gotta love that mammoth defense that according to all the EXPERTs on the Especially Stupid sPorts Network won all the games last year. They got upgraded for this year and absolutely dominated teams like the chargers. Ok it is a bit confusing because they a absolutely dominant BUT it is their fault that they lost the game not Fakin' Manning. NO...it could never b his fault even though he lost game....ok I know this is his pattern....just ask any colts fan...but still, the ESPN experts say he is not to blame so he is not to blame. Plus, as pointed out by clueless bear fan above, Fakin' manning has more points in the games he has lost.

Come in folks, football is NOT about winning, it's about throwing motions and points. The ultimate loser once said, " if I am going to lose, I am going to look good doing it". His throwing motion does look good, at least during the regular season, and there are lots of points when he loses.

Seriously, that is what u got??? U r a loser. Do u also have a tat of your wife with a mark jersey. Talk about a butt fumble

What is it with you Tebow fans that you all think it's as simple as -INSERT TEBOW = YOU WIN? Especially when you're talking about the Jets' offense. No NFL QB could have saved that team this year especially TT.

Realistically what TT did last year was fool's gold. They beat sub-par(especially in the AFC WORST)teams outside of the Bears which was still a fluky win and then to wrap up and solidify a playoff spot TT LOSES to the Pats and Bills badly and LOSES to the league's worst Chiefs and had 0 offensive production and backs into the playoffs by virtue because the Raiders were terrible and couldn't win either.

A "winner" would make sure his team was "in" and didn't get in by losing and then another team losing it's place. To me and most others that's called LUCK. Everything basically fell right for TT last year and he's done nothing to improve as a passer this year.

Ive asked this question a few times with NO ANSWER. Again I'll ask: If TT is so great and such a winner, why is he facing NFL exile? Why?

And BTW, Manning got the Colts a Superbowl trophy and brought that franchise back from the depths of NFL hell. What more can you ask any QB with a non-existent running game and an undersized defense to do in all the years he was there? He WAS their entire offense and leader of that team. Without Peyton that team wouldn't go and couldn't stop anyone and it was proven.

Plus TT should never, ever, ever be mentioned in the same book, let alone the same sentence as Peyton Manning. Please....

Let me answer you then.

First, I am not a TT fan but I am a fan but rather a FB fan. TT is one of many players I like to watch and is not on my favorite team.

Second, while not even TT with his great work ethic and great team spirit could fix the Jets (nobody could...they truly have a horrible locker room as evidenced by last year), he could have won several of the games that MS lost. MS really was a joke this year and he is a big part of the reason the Jets were a joke this year (Ryan is the rest of the reason), not TT who only played a handful of plays being, as many TT haters have pointed out, irrelevant on the field.

TT really is a good player. Sure, he has much to learn as a ROOKIE. But, the great thing about watching TT is that he had a great way of winning. It was fun and exciting, the way FB should be. He is a winner AND he has quite a bit to learn. Look at all the rookies, with only a few exceptions they all have an adjustment period...how many games did Cam Newton win his first year with all his great arm etc. Seriously, what a f'ing bore to watch. In contrast, everybody in the country wanted to tune in to tebow time, even the haters. It was unbelievable and fun. That is real football man.

TT numbers last year were on pare with many of the greats their first year including Elway. I know...Elway wasn't actually that special. Thats part of the point though. TT has been special at all levels. He really has. The numbers just don't lie. Thats why TT "just wins" as you say...because he is actually a good player.

Not sure what the cultural divide is on this and why TT is so divisive. TT does win and he won more than he should of with less than Peyton had to work with this year. What part of WINNING IS THE POINT OF THE WHOLE GAME is confusing. Perhaps we will never know what TTs true potential is in the NFL given the vitriol that is spewed by the TT haters that populate the ESPNS of the world to the point that he may actually not be given a chance, but all actual historical DATA show that given a level playing field TT will win more often than most of his peers. In contrast, MS = butt fumbles...and I am a USC fan. He wasn't special at USC either.

Regarding Peyton, don't talk to me, seriously talk to a colts fan. In spite of all he gaudy numbers, he tends to croak in the post-season, especially in cold weather. The numbers here just don't lie either.

As a football fan, I will never forget TTs win over the Steelers. Say anything you want but that was classic and exciting. There are just a few games that have that kind of feel to them. It is the same kind of classic game like the Tostitos Bowl when the Broncos beat Oklahoma. Its truly great football and I will say it again....winning feels better than saying my QB has a great throwing motion etc.

TT took the D Broncos further than PM did and it was much more fun to watch....the whole season...including the drama of the loses.

I really hope he is given a chance because the same thing will happen again....and it will be fun to watch.

I LOVE FOOTBALL!!!

Let me answer specifically.....again. It is better to b thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt. If u really think that Rex gave him a fair shot then u r a true TT hater. People say that Rex would have given him a shot but truly thought he was worse than ms and gm. This is either horse sh-t or Rex is dummer than even I think he is. There is no question that he chaffed under the attention TT got as did many if the selfless....errr...selfish players in the jets locker room. If, even by a miracle, TT won a game he never would have heard the end of it and wanted none of it. The actaul reason rex dudn't play TT has either nothing at all to do with TT's FB ability or, more likely, Rex's fear and belief that TT could actually pull off a win.

Lets be honest, this is a league where it is now common knowledge that coaches actively participated in schemes to injure opposing players. To think that there is nobody who would stupe to injure a player off the field...like his credibility...by saying things untrue is too much to accept I am sure.

TT is a good player, a good team mate, a hat worker and has better credentials (actual hard data on the field stats) both in college and in the nfl than many QBs playing the game. I have hinted around but I really think with these credentials, the converse question is more relevant.

hmmm-

You never answered why he is on the brink of NFL exile. A report came out today that the Jets owner has said TT was forced on him and TT created the divide in the locker room.

So many of TT's contemporaries have spoken out and called the guy "over-hyped" and over-rated. 98% of the NFL teams passed on TT last year and now it appears as if TT will be out of the NFL for next season yet some people still call him a "winner" and that all he does is win. I love football, I'm a diehard 9er fan since the mid 80's and I played it too and I get the hype surrounding TT but it's not for his skill, it's the fact that he's brought the casual fan to the forefront with his polarizing behavior and his faith.

TT is arguably the best college player ever but that's where it stops. If he truly was substance over style he'd be granted a real shot at QB but it just isn't the case.

You will never convince me that TT is NFL worthy when now basically 100% of the NFL says TT isn't qualified and nearly 100% of the NFL experts say the same thing. Do you mean to tell me the people that get PAID to manage, coach and analyze the sport of football have it wrong while the casual fan who loves TT knows better? Take off the rose colored glasses people.

Why is it when someone says that TT isn't fit to be an NFL QB that he or she is now a TT hater even when they're just pointing out the obvious?

And why is it when a coach like Fox or Ryan says without saying that TT just isn't good enough they're called morons or idiots even though they have the accolades to say the exact opposite?

And why is it when TT's contemporaries called him and rated him the most over-hyped player in the NFL along with being overrated that they're all jealous haters and most likely godless criminals when they are truly the best judges when it comes to their footballing frat brothers?

Why is it that you can't see what EVERYONE else is seeing? Is having love for TT truly blind? Must be.
