this is the sad result of getting blown out in nat'l spotlight; having weak QB's that waste entire seasons....

If i were you i would work on the ability to evade tacklers...That is Your MOBILITY....MY GOD...you cannot scramble for Crap...We all know you can throw...Do some sprints or something...Plus David Gerrad is Not that more better than you...He is a scrambler....If u have mobility and can throw u will be in the League

That should tell you something when you "don't hear back" from the Bengals.

Quarterbacks that don't get blown out in nat'l spotlight games have more than 1.5 seconds to throw the football, because they have much better protection than Todd ever had!

For those of you that talk about learning to scramble if receivers are covered, same thing goes. Fran Tarkenton one of the best scramblers the game ever saw said during interviews more that once, that his scrambling was because of great protection! Learn football or don't comment on it!

That's partly his own fault....

I think that this answers the question of his position as far as quarterbacks go.

Hang in there Todd. Just because the Bengals cut him doesn't mean someone won't take a chance on him. He doesn't have a criminal record nor is he the media-whore that the Bengals are looking for. If he can survive the pounding of the more talented Bengals (the Bayou Bengals of LSU) and USC than he has the toughness. Those two teams are full of NFL types that he will likely face in the pros. Unfortunately he had no NFL talent around him to block at OSU.

Don't criticize the kid! He has some talent, however, he's the type of quarterback that would have thrived with an outstanding running back and a dominant receiver. He had a dominant back in Beanie (e.g., see how a healthy Beanie shredded LSU's heralded defense which contained 2 of the top 3 defensive linemen that were drafted in the last two drafts (Glenn Dorsey and Tyson Jackson). If Todd had someone like Santonio Holmes and a healthy Beanie, he would have done a very solid job as QB.

I hope Todd didn't waste any money treating his offensive linemen to steak dinners. If they weren't the incredibly underachieving bunch they were, Todd would have led the team to the National Title.

Todd is a solid QB, a good guy, and deserves a shot. He is not a mobile QB and when protection broke down he ran into trouble. He could remedy this with making quicker decisions.

The WRs weren't the problem. He just needed more time to throw. Coupled the with expectations to repeat and TP waiting in the wings, Tress had him on a short leash and didn't give him the opportunity to rebound. Hang in there Todd.

Just a stat for all you Todd haters...he was sacked 17 times in 2007. In 2008, Pryor was sacked 21 times in only 10 games...hmmm

Kyle Nowak, and your point would be? If he felt that he was on a short leash maybe he should have delivered on the field and Tressal wouldn't have had to look to the rookie to lead the team. Did you forget that Todd B. was a senior and T.P. a freshman? So, yes he is going to get sacked more often then the "experienced" guy. Todd was supposed to be the more experienced player--when he couldn't get the job done what was Tressel supposed to do; pat on the head and say "oh well better luck next game kid" If your go to guy can't get the job done then you look elsewhere. I'm sorry that things haven't worked out well for Todd, but maybe he isn't meant to play professional ball.

Not quite sure I understand what you're saying about my comment. I'm pointing out the obvious that Boeckman had no protection against superior teams and was pummelled. Joe Montana & Tom Brady would've lost those games too.

He does have an NFL arm, QB smarts, but no mobility. With a real offensive line blocking for him he could make a team as a 3rd string & possibly move up to a 2nd string QB down the road.

I doubt he has starting ability but backup QB's make more $ than most of us. If all else fails he can be the spokesman for a Honda or Toyota dealerships opposite Craig Krenzel.

I totally agree with you krohiofan that Boeckman should've been benched for the more mobile Pryor. TB would've gotten killed playing behind that pathetic "Offensive" line. I just hope he gets a chance to play behind a real line, coached by a real coaching staff that has a real offensive game plan. TB does throw a beautiful deep ball & should get a chance to make a team as a backup.

God bless you Todd! You keep your head up and trust that God has plans for you. I really wish you all the best, and I thank you for the years that you played and led my Alma Matter. We were very proud to have you lead the team, and somewhere out there is a team that can use a man of your talent and character.

Good luck my friend, and may God be with you in your quest to continue your football career.

Bill from Hillard, what I'm saying about your comment is this: I get so sick of comments about how lsu or usc has "NFL type" players. I also get sick of the implications that the Ohio State players are of inferior quality. And before anyone goes there, I know that the Buckeyes have a penchant for loosing "the big one" for the past few years. However, no one can deny that the Bucks have always had guys go high in the NFL draft, guys that have had very successful careers. So, OSU must have "NFL types" as well. What is it with this love affair with lsu and usc? Show me where they have had more players drafted then OSU and I'll shut up. I can't argue with your comment about the Bengals though.

Bottom line is that the terrible 2008 offensive line (and JT's pedestrian and predictable schemes)just caused another sack of Todd. If JT and the line don't perfom better in 2009, Terrele will have to gain ALL his yardage on the ground. I liked Fran Tarkington's comment as well as Terrele's comparative sack stats. Believe me,all great QB's had great offensive lines in front of them. Dan Marino was probably the exception and that is why the greatest pure passer of the modern era didn't win any titles and had bum knees at a young age.
