Egregious and elevated hits warrant one to four month suspensions and a second violation by that player will result in a six month or being banned from ever plying in the NFL. Am hoping Ray Anderson rids the fame of any players ever trying any more of this conduct.

About time! And that SOB James Harrison should be kicked out of the league! Along with the Steelers, who seem to think that NFL teams should be full of thugs and rapists!

this is retarded! some of these hits happen on accident and they are gonna suspend people over it! This is a hitting sport not a sport for pu***s. thats what its turning into! i would not miss it a bit if they didn't play next year.

Yeah and why can players put a knee on the ground when they're giving thanks to the "god of thugs" but Jared Allen can't put his knee down when he gets a sack?? So now the NFL picks and chooses what is excessive celebration?? Thugs giving gang signs and imitating praise to god is OK but don't imitate roping a calf. Pathetic........

As usual Ray Edwards doesn't get it. He's not the one getting hit, so according to him it's okay. What Ray Edwards does best is cheap shot opposing players, but when a tackle needs to be made he is no where around. I'm a Vikings fan, but it wouldn't bother me if they let him go. Maybe the league will take care of that for the Vikings.

The players have been playing anywhere from 15-25 years and still don't know how to tackle, but they scream at the league to do something about concussions. They blame the NFL for injuries but don't want the league to do anything about it.

Too bad they couldn't have held off on this new rule until after the Vikings face Karen Rodgers.
