Goodell is so gravely concerned with player safety that he's been pushing for an 18 game regular season.

An eighteen game season has multiple benefits. It's 2 extra games for players to get injured. Plus it's 2 more games to fine defensive players for hitting. It's a win-win for the NFL!

All the NFL sees are two extra games to sell tickets and TV rights for. If the players crap out, then cart them off and put in their fresh replacements. Too bad for them. Gotta keep the revenue streams flowing.

If the Jets had to play 2 additional games...the comedy factor might be worth it...

Any word on at least a fine, for the player that screwed over Cushing? Amazing, how all the fans and the league are just like...Oh well...that is fuck*d....And the Coach, wonder if he even communicated with the Commisioner's office?

Has Goodell ever acted in a manner in which it seemed like he considered something other than his own ego? I've never seen it. I would love it if the NFL had a Commissioner that understood football and the fans. Maybe we'll get that next time.

Boy, I'd love to see some proof of that...and it's a Jets offensive lineman....

Even if this is true, it's a pittance compared to what players are fined for minor infractions. In fact, players have been fined as much as $20,000 for uniform violations in one game. Take a defensive player out for the season with a dirty hit you can be fined twice the amount for wearing the wrong shoes and socks. What a joke!

Even worse, a ProBowl LB, on a team, that is likely going far into the playoffs.....plus, every operation, like this, takes time and speed, off a career.....

He should be suspended for as long as Cushing is out of action.

Actually Eric, I think tooth for tooth and eye for eye is a better solution. Just think about it
Have somebody like Watt cheapshot the Jets O-Lineman with a low block, not during a play, but when there is a lull in action
