Mathews is right. Until the NFL protects both offensive and defensive players, the claims of concern for player safety are nothing but b.s. Any body that ever played the game knows that offensive players hit just as hard and just as dirty.

The League's objective is to make sure pretty QBs and loquacious WRs don't get knocked out of games. Smelly sweaty gritty Defenders are on their own.

Until he throws a football. Then he doesn't look so good. The good news for Sanchez is his backup throws the football even uglier!

So, i guess, the NFL is gonna do nothing about this conscious act, injuring the Texan's All-Pro Linebacker?....They only protect offense, and only for show.....It's all just for show, all of it.....

It's all part of Goodell's belief that "Offense fills the seat, but defense ... who gives a f@#%?!"
