Only if they are trying to stay on the bottom and amass future number one draft picks.
The smart move is to take Clowney, trade their number 2 pick to Pats for Mallet and escape the disaster that Johnny Football, or any QB in this years class will bring, and that includes Bridgewater. College is not the NFL. Let's hope there is some adult leadership on the Texans. Mallet is a seasoned vet yet still young. And let's be honest here. Three years with Brady and Belichick is going to make any QB better. Even their last backup went to Cleveland and had a winning record. In Cleveland!!! And the bonus with Mallet is a rocket arm.

There's going to be a lot of back and forth discussions about this before May rolls around.

Too much talk and not enough action will result in either Minnesota or Oakland stealing Ryan Mallet away from the Texans. First team to man up with a second round pick gets a QB who will challenge the middle of the pack his first year and improve each year thereafter, and beat out each of the QBs in this years draft. You snooze you lose, literally. Do the Texans really want to continue to play second fiddle to Dallas who can't win anything? And lose Clowney who could well be a great addition to Watt in the process?
