Good article. Seneca Wallace is a reliable backup. We could not expect the fireworks that Rodgers is capable of displaying, but, could still win with Wallace. It is still a team game. However, losing Rodgers would cause panic among the Packer faithful but you'd have to believe in your coaching staff and team to make the adjustments to figure out how to win without your "star" QB. The Packers may do this better than any team in the NFL, coping with injuries. It has to be a mindset amongst the whole organization that they can overcome injuries and remain a competitive and winning team. The Packers have been blessed with great durability at the QB position.

AMEN! Great call PBWK! We have been blessed with the best ( or nearly the best) office in the game today! Their may be teams who has starters who are a bit better then GB but i dont think there is a team better then GB from player 1 to player 53,In other words,if another team had the injuries GB has had,I dont think many would have the success GB has had ( or i should say very few, there have been injured teams who have had success but its hard to argue with GB success after all the injuries)
Look at the oline, Besides Josh Sitton,is there a player you could say is a Probowl caliber player?( Maybe Bahktari depending on how he handles the rest of the season,so far hes done a nice job and should get better as we go along, but, they have done a much better job this year,AR is taking many less hits and the running game is tremendous ( compared to what it was) its pretty good in the real world. I hope they have that mind set they can win w/o Rodgers for a short term as its almost impossible for Rodgers to repeat what Favre has done.Rodgers is MUCH TOUGHER then folks gave him credit for but what is the chances of Rodgers playing another 5-7 years w/o him missing a game or 2.

Say, what?? Packers were unprepared to deal with Rodgers going down, the most important player on your team.

Well lbf seems like Rodgers will be out at least 3 weeks so enjoy it while you can. Last nights game only proves to me something i've been saying for awhile now- pass d is below average, newhouse sucks, and without matthews the weakness is obvious.
GB could have scored more if mccarthy stuck with using the ground game which was working great. Why he went away from it and let Wallace throw it (a guy who hasnt started a game) is beyond me.Lacy was racking up yardage blowing thru CHI d.Starks was doing well.
Pass d was embarrassing - backup qb shreds GB what went on last night.Casey Hayward looked like a lost puppy out there!!
Just an awfull game for us pack fans - good for you though.

It is a good article and he makes a compelling argument. Missing from the argument is an explanation for why Wallace was released by Cleveland and New Orleans if he's such a superior backup? SF had no serious interest in him either. Why did no one have him in when he sat out an entire year (2012)? Why didn't we invite him to camp to compete with the guys we eventually cut if he is so capable? Wallace looked like his arm strength was gone on Monday, having seen him play before. The truth is we got this guy to collect intelligence on SF and now the Packers hope to steal a victory here somewhere hoping Rodgers returns in 3-4 wks since this is the soft part of the schedule. Then they're counting on Rodgers running the table against Atlanta, Dallas, Pittsburgh and Chicago. That's 10 wins. Nine may not cut it. Here's where I disagree with McGinn: We sorely miss Clay Matthews and Nick Perry. The pass D needs a pass rush.

Plus, McCarthy should have thrown the red challenge flag during the Bears game on a catch on the sidelines that was called incomplete even though it appeared it might have been a catch. Should have stuck with the running game even if the Bears were showing an 8-man front. I believe the Packers will step up and win 2 out of the next 3 games if they successfully run the ball. Now is the time for the defense to play like their hair's on fire.

Is a 1 arm Mathews better then what we have had the past few weeks?( esp. when you consider the Def. has played well until the Bears game)..
Hopefully Perry is back soon as well. Both healthy ( barring more injuries from others) that should help alot and its only a week maybe 2 away ( while Rodgers is out for 4-6 games). Philly has a few good WR,so they should be able to put up some numbers but i have the feeling GB Defense will HAVE to force a few Turnovers and set the offense in good field position for that margin of victory. Philly at Home,NYG on the road, then Minn at home,so yea, they should win at least 2 of them,Det. on Thanksgiving is huge so heres to hoping Wallace ( or maybe Flynn if the reports arwe right) are in a pretty good way and GB can get out of this ( missing Rodgers) in decent shape. IF Rodgers misses 6 games and the Packers go 3-3 that puts them at 8-6 with 2 games left Pittsburgh and Chicago and the Packers will have to sweep the final 2 to hit 10 wins.Obviously, the Minn and Det games are most important while Rodgers is out and hopefully Rodgers is back by Pitts and Chi..get the rust off and get confidence by taking a hit and proving its healthy ( at the very least)
