Whats really funny is the packers are not giving credit to the 49ers by saying "We beat ourselves". You can say that again! Are you taking Viagra? because you beat yourselves for 3 hrs straight. I also remember Clay Mathews saying that when they got spanked the game before this latest beat down playing the NYG. Can you say...full of themselves?

Good job GBP!

Why would be pissed? It's been a blast watching the packers the last few games, they don't even have a clue how to stop the bleeding for 3 hrs these games.

What surprised me,they were doing an recap of the game on the radio and SF was only 2 of 9 on 3rd downs. That surprised me.They did p/u a few 1st downs on penalties but 2 of 9?
Yea,GB held Smith and a pretty good WR/TE squad to a bit over 200 yards ( not bad for the worst passing defense in the league and they p/u 4 sacks)
Problem is, almost 200 yards on the ground.IF I see Morgan Burnett throw a shoulder on a RB instead of trying to rap the runner up,RRRRRRRRR.

If they didn't have the running game they would have another 150 in passing yards. The running game controls the game, all smith had to do is manager the game and not turn the ball over. Packers might have a better run game with Benson thurs.Believe me Benson will show up soon and it just might be this week. That was a good pick up for the pack this late. That is surprising 2 of 9 in that game.

Unlike the packers, 49ers can do
Something called run the ball. I don't know if you have ever heard of it. When you play big boy football and run the ball, play good D, control the clock and play field position you don't need to throw 50 times a game.

3rd down continues to be the 49ers Achilles heel. Besides Kyle Williams punt return screw ups, the inability to convert 3rd downs lost the 49ers a superbowl bid. Since SF usually gets the ball in good field position from playing good d, they get the ball in field goal range then tend to bog down thus settling for a lot of field goals.

Oh and clay Matthews owned the left tackle staley. Staley has a hard time with elite pass rushers like him

I didnt hear that one.All i did hear is Jennings wont talk contract ext. now that the season started, but, looking at yesterday and AR throwing to Nelson,Cobb and Jones all the time and Jennings not getting a whole lot ( it seemed) it would make sense that Jennings suffered an injury.

Its early of course but if the defense plays that well,Smith plays better then last year,Davis at TE,and his WR corp now, theres no reason why SF cant make it to the big party. They impressed yesterday.Like I said its early yet.The NYG looked bad vs Dallas and we all know NY ( SuperBowl Champs) are a pretty damn good Football team,GB is certainly much better then they played yesterday ( and as i mentioned in another thread on here, with the exception of last year,GB seems to get off to a bit slower start under coach Mc.)

IF they were back to back,i would be abit.A whole off season separated them,so not as much.It sucks to lose and GB ( and every team prob.) have that 1 game where they are out played, play very badly and GB just had theirs ( hopefully thats the only one and there is still 15 games left)
about Greg Jennings, i was going through the MJS and i didnt see anything about Jennings being injured.
One point i was happy to see what 4 sacks and if SF oline is better then Chicago's,hopefully GB can be that productive Thursday night and of course a nice passrush can make the secondary that much better. Its hard enough to cover WR in a secondary but with no passrush, its darn near impossible.

It's obviously good enough when a team can gain nearly 200 yards on the ground. It's not Aaron Rodgers good, but it's plenty good enough on the 49ers.

Exactly, he doesn't need to be GREAT. He needs to be good and not turn the ball over just like he did last year. He will need to make plays here and there and I believe he can make the big throws when they count like he did against the saints in the playoffs. I thinks this is going to be Alex smiths best year.

Alex really hasn't set the bar that high for himself. However, unless you are geeked about QBs it shouldn't matter. The 49ers are a very good team with an average QB. Actually I wish the Packers didn't have to rely on our QB so much. As long as it's a successful year for the 49ers, it will also be a successful year for Alex Smith no matter how he plays. Heck, he could get injured and end the season on IR and that doesn't mean disaster for the 49ers.

Yeah this is Smith's first year with the same OC and head coach in his career. He had like 3000 yards, 15tds and 5 ints on the year last year. I expect him to up the yards and tds this year a bit. I cant see him throwing 5 or less picks again though.I Agee to an extent. I think an injury to Alex would mean no super bowl for sure. The back ups would turn the ball over too much.

I think you are overreacting. We all know the defense has room for improvement. So does the offense. Our running game was Cedric Benson for a total of 18 yards. Aaron Rodgers can't continue to be the leading rusher! The Packers had 10 penalties. Passes were dropped again. Yet the Packers were within a single score at the end of the game against a very good team. This was the first game played with replacemenet refs. I'm not blaming the refs, but it's hard to say how a game changes IF there are good refs. And if Randy Moss is THE difference for the 49ers this season, I think they are in trouble. I think the 49ers probably could have beaten the Packers at the end of last season. They added Manningham and Moss and barely hold on to win the first game of the season. Honestly, I see no improvement to the 49ers with Moss and Manningham. With the Packers changes on defense at least we can expect some improvement. It isn't who wins the first time, it's who wins the last time. If you don't believe me, ask the Giants about last season. If you remember, the Packer beat the Giants last season. It was the second time the teams played that really counted. If the Packers lose to the 49ers in the playoffs, I'll panic then. The Packers are a team implementing many young players into their defense. Losing to one of the best teams in the NFL in week one is no big deal. There will be many changes to every team between now and February.
Your saying that losing to one of the best teams in the NFL is no big deal??? To me and i'm sure other Pack fans- it is a Big Deal .If they couldnt beat a team that is pretty much certain to make the playoffs- that has a offense and defense that is very well balanced - this is no big deal??? Eventually down the road at playoff time we might very well play san fran again and this is no cause for alarm? The Pack can beat all the bottom feeder type teams all they want but when it comes to playoff time with our weak pass D if no improvement is going to be made - Mr. Rodgers neighborhood is going to be the Golf Course instead of New Orleans
