Thompson isnt going to get anybody. And if I was Ryan Grant I wouldnt come back next year after all the Packers fans threw him under the bus.The Rodgers era will be in vain cause Thompson didnt get enough of a supporting cast.Hahahahahahahahahahahahah aha.

The only thing that Thompson is pulling the trigger on is his own career.

Besides Ted shot his entire load on Anthony Smith. There's no way that Ted could do two trades in the same year. He's already exceeded his quota. The guy's not a slave to his job you know.

Our offense is stuck in neutral without the threat of a running game where it's become all about Rodgers making plays. Admittedly we are not the same offense without Finley and that is all the more reason to give Rodgers some help with a decent RB. Jackson hasn't done a bad job and did look pretty good against the Skins. Obviously TT thought a 3rd for Lynch was too much, but he better make a move today before the deadline. I hope he isn't thinking Starks is the answer. Getting Smith will help the safety position and shows at least TT admits he screwed up in letting Smith go the 1st time.....had to use one of his coveted draft picks to get him back.

Ted has put his cards on the table if he doesnt make a move.
If Ted traded for a RB and the Packers end up with a bad year,he may have earned a right as at least he made an attempt
IF
Ted doesnt trade for a back and knowing the back situation we have and the season ends up badly, then it should mean Teds job.Mc (although not the best coach in football can only work with what he has been givin_) and has made some bad calls in the 4th quarter this year will end up fired with a bad season, but, Ted should go as well.YES he tried to trade for Lynch which might be his call to keep his job, and can you blame Ted for being out bid? Some will and some wont but a 3rd for Lynch seems more then fair and who knows if Lynch would have or how much difference Lynch would have made and if GB would have made the playoffs with Lynch if they dont without him.

Eric,
Lynch would have made a great addition but obviously Ted didn't think he was worth it. What do you think of that Steven Jackson of the Rams? Not that I want to get rid of Hawk, but I would probably give them Hawk, Grant and a future draft pick depending on Grants health and productivity next year. We are screwed without a back. Desperate times require desperate moves. Without a back opposing teams will just continue to T-off on our QB and pick him off because they have no fear of a running game. Basically our season is done if Ted doesn't make any kind of move. But like I said before, Why should he care as long as the stands are full and he receives his big bonus for saving the team money.

If you can land Steven Jackson, you have to do it! Id imagine it would take Hawk and a high pick to do it,but,
The one question is, with Chillar out for a while,Barnett done for the season,if you trade Hawk, who plays inside? Poppinga is done for the year now and hes an outside LB.
Even if Ted shocked the planet and said he wanted to,i dont think he can unless he traded for another inside LB to replace Hawk at this point. At this point its Bishop and Robert Francois on the inside unless im missing someone obvious.

Ted is already in a panic. Ted believes he was wrong about Anthony Smith or he wouldn't have given a draft pick to get him back. Ted passed up getting Lynch for a mere 4th round pick. If he gives more than that (which he will have to for anybody decent) he admits that he was wrong 2 more times. That would be an admission that he didn't offer enough for Lynch AND it would be an admission that Jackson and Kuhn aren't cutting it and should have been replaced sooner.

If Ted makes a trade, he is admitting to being wrong at least 3 times in one season. You tell me, is that egomaniac capable of admitting he is wrong that much? He won't do what is best for the PACKERS. Ted only cares about Ted.

TT should just suck it up then the third time because if he doesn't make the move for a RB, then we are probably a screwed team. That is how important Grant was to the offense. If we had Finley maybe we could make it work on offense, but without him the passing game can be defensed and stopped...note these past two games. Personally, I think TT should have given up that 3rd for Lynch, but maybe we can get a Slaton or someone else for a 4th or higher. We will not beat Minnesota if MM calls the same type offensive game he has called these past two weeks. We have got to be able to run the ball consistently. I'm swinging over to GBPfan's camp the way things are shaking out.

Um, guys... the deadline was at 4PM Eastern time. It's past. Street FAs are the only way the Packers can add to the team now.

We'll see what happens the rest of the way. As anyone who's known me on this forum the past few years knows, I don't make predictions, either that the Packers are going to win the division or lose the rest of their games. We'll find out at the end of the season if they pulled out a successful one. All we can do is keep cheering them on.

im guessing he has alot of confidence in Starks. He is a rookie and has no history and coming off an injury that put him on the PUP list.
Im not saying Starks suck or not contribute and for all we know Starks might be or end up being the best back we have down the stretch.Point is, hes taking a shot on an untested RB instead of making a deal for a talent.Lynch was worth a 3rd,he tried but failed,ok,but, what about Brandon Jacobs, what about Brian Westbrook, I didnt know Steven Jackson ( STL ) was available until Ross mentioned him, but, if you could have a shot at him, make STL an offer,Did he? I dont know.
So know we are what we are and have to go with what we have unless a RB gets released, then Ted can sign him ( that would qualify as a street FA correct?).
Lets see how it goes adn see whats what.I personally havent given up on this year,if we beat Minn,we are 4-3 and 1 game back or tied with Chi depending on the Wash../Chicago outcome. AND we put Minn back to 2-4 and have the tie breaker with them at that point,so thats a bit of a gap and if Minn does get it together and Rice is back and working well with BF and with Moss and Minn finds their high gear, they will be back a few games and we will see if they are able to make up that ground, but, first GB has to beat Minn Sunday Night. Again, lets finish the season, see where things are!

We don't have a choice. The one person that does is Ted Thompson. I know I haven't given up on the Packers. I never do. As usual, it appears that Ted Thompson has given up on the Packers. What else do you call it when a GM spends ten months every year on vacation?

Ted doesnt ness either,He has to answer to his bosses. My point is, we are only 1 game out of first.Yes our running game sucks BUT we might still win this division almost by default! Chi. might just get Cutler killed with the way their off. line is playing,Minn hasnt gotten it together and who knows if they will and BF is getting knocked around as well.Maybe GB doesnt deserve the div the way they are playing and if GB wins the division,Ted wont get fired,( at leaast i dont think he will but,im not the boss here) also we can bitch and wish all we want, but its Mark Murphy decision. It is completely up in the air. With the fire power Minn and GB have in the passing game if either one gets on the roll, they can put the division away rather quickly,Chicago has some talant as well and with Cutler and Martz if they can fix their o line,Cutler can put up some numbers.

By default? Don't deserve to win? As usual, you make the BEST arguments for Ted to get fired!

BTW you make a really lousy cheerleader. I'm more depressed than ever about the Packer season. You make it sound like a lost cause with no hope of success even if the Packers make the playoffs. That would be a typical Ted Thompson season. And you are right. That is precisely the kind of failure that has allowed Ted to keep his job in the past. I'm NEVER going to give up the desire for real success. I see that you can easily replace the desire for success with hope in Ted Thompson. How's that been working for ya? I know it hasn't been working for the Packers.

Where do you come up with this Garbage? You love either twisting words around to make stupid arguments,or you just dont get it.
The Packers are having a bad year as of now,and can still win the division.
Once you get to the playoffs, anything is possible! Why be more depressed? You afraid GB might win the division and Ted wont be fired?
As far as " can easily replace the desire for success with hope in Ted T.)Why because i mention the Packers can still win the division, even while not playing well as of now? Again once you get there, anything can happen.
Relax.

Where do you come up with this Garbage?

I get this garbage from you. You're the one saying:

"The Packers are having a bad year as of now"

Why be more depressed? You afraid GB might win the division and Ted wont be fired?

I'm more depressed because you are telling me that a disappointing season is actually a "bad year" and that the Packers need to win the division by "default" instead of earning it. It sounds like you're afraid of the Packers chances to win the division.

And I am afraid that Ted won't be fired. It's been 6 years of failure so far. Six years of listening to you and people like you making excuses and saying "if this" and "if that" the Packers would have had success. I'm sick of Ted and his failure. I can't wait for real success for the Packers. The real success that won't return to Green Bay until that failure of a GM is gone.

Listen to you talking about TT staying if the Packers win the division by "default." What happened to talking about the Super Bowl? Keep supporting the Thompson failure if you want to. How's that working for ya? I know it isn't working for the Packers.

Apparently AccuScore agrees with you eric. They have no faith in the Packers winning the division either, except by default. They place the Packers odds at less than 20%. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news...

I am pissed that the Packers have to win by "default" (if they win at all) as YOU stated. Same old Ted Thompson failure, different year. When will the Thompson imposed suffering end?
