As much as i love AP,GJ is tremendous.Jordy Nelson for Jared Allen would work but i went with Cobb for Suh since GJ and JN are our 1 and 2 and Cobb is our 3 or 4

Eric,
That was a tossup for me as well, between Jordy for Allen and Cobb for Suh. Allen is one real badass white dude and we both know Suh is one real badass black dude! I've always been a big Jared Allen fan as much as I dislike the Vikes. I love Jordy, but figured an upcoming Cobb could move into his spot and it wouldn't hurt us too much with all our WR depth. I love AP but just figured like you did, the hit on our #1 WR Jennings would be tough to absorb and with all our weapons do we really need a super back like AP? I still think he would look mighty fine in Green & Gold :)
I realize none of these trades could ever happen but just kind of a fun fantasy thing to imagine one of those bad boyz in Green & Gold.
Thanks

Its always great to have some fun.I think the Packers will be solid once again.I can def. see GB trading James Jones for a pick or maybe a depth position player.I wonder what will happen at WR though.
Greg Jennings and Jordy Nelson are 1 and 2
Randall Cobb and Donald Driver are 3 and 4
we have Tori Gurley a big guy with huge upside who choose to stay on GB practice squad instead of Minnesota;s roster..
Shakey Smithson,a guy with great speed also on last years practice squad
and they have a few other younger WR who can make things interesting.
I didnt put in James Jones as i still have the feeling he could be dealt off at some point, position of real depth so GB still has a few other,so do you keep DD who is in his late 30s and take a chance of losing Tori Gurley?

We are both thinking alike. They just have so much depth at WR, something has to give. After Jennings there isn't really any kind of a dropoff from Jordy Nelson, Cobb, Jones & Driver. Every one of them has the talent to fill the number 2 spot. If I was to trade one of them, it would probably be Jones or Jordy. They would have an absolute riot on their hands if they axed DD with all his popularity, community involvement, etc. He also took a big cut so he could retire a Packer. Age isn't a factor with him, he's in the best shape of all the WR's and probably the best shape of his career. So no DD!! Let's go to Cobb. No Way, we don't want to mess with him. He is an up and coming star and could very well be better than Jennings at some point. So that leaves Jordy (my favorite) and James Jones. Like I said there really isn't any kind of dropoff from our #2 position all the way through Driver. I would look at what I could get for Jones or Jordy Nelson. If I could pick up a guy close to Jared Allen's caliber or Suh for Jordy but not Jones, I think I would have to let Jordy go as much as I would hate it. So that is one thing to look at, if they do make a big trade move involving one of our better WR's.

I would trade Jones and keep Gurley and carry 7WR and3 TE instead of last year 6 WR nd 5TE
1Jennings,2 Nelson, 3Cobb, 4 Driver,5Gurley,6 Smithson and 7 Borel and trade Jones and P.S. 1 of the younger WR.
TE,,,Finley,Williams and Taylor
Maybe Crabtree but Gurley with his size can prob. line up at the TE position on certain plays ( maybe) and we can free up a spot for an extra O lineman or D lineman
I wouldn't trade Nelson. He very well maybe right up there with Jennings 1 day

I really like that. We got enough studs on defense this year. They will be much much better. Now I totally agree with you, no Jordy (he be pretty fly for a white boy). No Donald (He still got it. Ask Peta :)
Now I have to do my last duty and put some nice tokens above your last response. It appears you have a friend that is putting garbage above your other ones. He can put them above mine :)

Im feeling pretty good about the team right now.Just have to wait and see who makes it and who gets cut.I just wish ( as much as we love Donald Driver) we didnt have a situation where we will either have to cut Him ( and piss off some fans, although its for the good) OR cut a younger WR and keep a 37 yr old,( who could prob still start for half the team if not more) but i guess thats a great problem to have. Many teams are looking for that 1 very good WR to compliment their Num 1 or looking at that stud WR and we have 2 number 1 and at least 2 or 3 others who would compliment and start for most teams.Im still in favor of trading Jones for a position of need or a draft pick, which we can turn into 2.

From what I seen in the practices I went to, they have some beasts on that team. They are locked and loaded with a lot of depth all over. I can't wait till they start practicing again! I love going down there. Their new practice field is something else, Eric. It's a state of the art outside facility right behind the Don Hutson Center. You can park right up to it now instead of walking all that ways across Oneida St. It has real nice bleacher seats with no obstacles in the way so you can take some real nice pics. You will have to go down there sometime this year. It will be fun watching them with all the battles going on for all the positions.
The odds of them cutting/trading Driver are probably the same as them trading Jennings. It just won't happen. Otherwise they never would have renegotiated his contract with him taking a huge cut in pay. You just don't do that to a loyal player like DD and then cut him, no matter what. I like to see his kind of loyalty and the teams loyalty to a guy like him. You just don't see that much nowadays. It turned into a show me the money kind of thing. If someone has to go maybe Jones and one of the yound WR's Shakey Smithson, lol will go. Just that name makes me laugh. I can picture Shakey Smithson going back to field a 65 yard punt on our 5 yardline and I think you can imagine the rest :-)
Anyhow, I think it's time for a blender of some good fresh Strawberry Margarita's. Damn, does that hit the spot on a warm day!

Well, maybe they keep an extra WR,cut back on the TE and can get away with Practice sqauding a few and not have them claimed.I was up there not to long ago and its a beautiful place, but, not yet this year but yea your right,i should grab a day and take a ride up there. If Shakeey goes and fields a 65 yard punt at our 5,as long as he returns it at least 16 yards,im ok with it.actually for being so stupid,he better return it 95 yards for 6!
well, enjoy your fresh Strawberry Margarita"s
