for the NFC North title? Well, they have a chance to prove and or take a HUGE STEP,winning at Lambeau field.
4 wins last year, beat Chicago yesterday ( 1 div win) now, havent won in GB since the early 90s has a chance to beat Chi and GB back to back, pick up 2 divisions wins, get the losing streak off their backs and most important at the very least, keep up with Chicago for 1st place (assuming Chi beats N.O.) AND knock GB back a few games,( det would be 4-1,GB 1-3 if Det wins)( Det is 3-2,,GB 2-2 if GB wins) So its a HUGE game for both.

21 years to be exact buddy..........wow..........I' d be worried about this game just based on that ludicrous number, simply put they are due..........to answer your Q, absolutely Detroit can compete...why?.......Because they finally have something they haven't had in a long time..........a running game..........

The 2 downfalls though, they still are weak in the secondary and Schwartz is still the H.C.
Bush adds quite a bit. Im not worried so much as they are do, they looked pretty solid vs Chi. and it would not surprise me if Det won it at Lambeau..GB will be favored despite not having as good a record, but, if Det should win it,it would suck for the Packers obviously but not surprising AND that puts Det in the drivers seat early! Wins over Chi and GB ( 2 div. wins)tie breakers all over,so unless they collapse for whatever reason,it would be tough,so, yea, its a huge game for both Det and GB.
Packers off the bye will help a bit for sure, healing up from injuries ( although Clay Mathews isnt practicing yet) so maybe its worse then what they said OR they are letting him rest and trusting he will get himself ready ( after all its only a 2 week rest, its not like its an off season)

I called this a long time ago. Not only can the Lions compete, I expect them to be the Packers competition in the division. The Lions appear to be maturing a bit and Reggie Bush was a great fit! However, I still think of Schwartz as a coach with a limit. If he can rein in his team's emotions (a tough task for such an emotional coach) the Lions have the talent to go far.

I called it last year and they won 4 Games.Det is dirty ( its not fair to generalize so SUH is a dirty SOB)Schwartz doesnt seem to control the team which is why i asked,if they can compete.
Maybe the best front 7 in the division now but can they stay away from stupid penalties, dirty plays and losing close ones like last year,4 games they won but they lost a handful of games they prob should have won

You don't need to point out that you were wrong. Just tell people you were a year off! Seriously though, we all know that the years of high draft picks have created a Lions team with a fair amount of talent. THE question mark for the team is it's coach! Making a collection of talented players create wins takes more than whipping them into an emotional frenzy. Schwartz can fire up his team, but can he get them to play smart? So far this season it looks good for the Lions, but it's early and Bush has already missed playing time (a recurring problem in his career) and players like Suh have shown the typical lack of common sense restraint. However, my prediction of them being our main competition seems to be right on target so far.

This will be a very tough week for the Packers. I believe the Lions are pretty good team and division games are never easy.

I think I would rather play the queens @MN then play the Lions @GB right now.

That being said I think the Packers win 41 34.

Yeah i was a day late and a dollar short on that one! Lets hope Clay is playing Sunday.Bush has helped their running game for sure and having Clay will help slow things down a bit ( esp. the passing game, covering Calvin Johnson is tough enough, but, give the qb a few extra seconds) but we dont want Clay to rush back,Hasnt practiced from whats been written ( from what ive seen or read) so maybe its a bit worse then we thought? IDK.James Starks is out a few weeks but Lacy should be back,Franklin didnt do that bad last game and who knows about Kuhn as he missed the game a few weeks back ( before bye) so maybe another back to carry the ball.

I do agree, although dont be shocked if Det beats GB and ends the 20+ year Lambeau losing streak, although i do expect GB to win it coming off a bye, especially if Mathews is healthy and playing.
