Unf.NO :(

You?
This is one of those years i think..Gallardo,Estrada and ????????
If the young guys can go 6 or 7 a good majority of the time and we get to the pen,( which should be light years better) we may have a very interesting season and a good shot at a WC spot...If the young guys prove that last September was a fluke type thing, well, it could be a long season.

Brad Jones,,I thought the idea was to get faster, although he had much better numbers last year then many ( including myself) thought. I think Brad is valuable in that he can play OLB and give Perry or Mathews that occasional rest or he can play a little inside incase. Not an earth shaker, but,a solid resign i think but GB must get quicker and more athletic and with Perry and Bishop coming back that helps huge!

Got my tickets staked out on StubHub, just making sure the teenager is going to be able to go before I commit (he is going to the Dells with friends and he wasn't sure if they were coming back Sunday or Monday). Hoping to know this weekend. It's become a tradition for us.

Brad Jones... well, I guess there's something to be said for someone who knows the system and can be plugged in at a few positions. I don't think they see him as a starter. Probably insurance in case Bishop isn't ready to go.

Exactly! hes also a good backup if ( for some reason) Perry's wrist gets injured again.Lattimore can backup Mathews ( although i saw listed as in ILB,i always thought he was an OLB)
Interesting enough Robert Francois was a ST player but they thought enough of him to sign him and give him a shot at ILB and a starting job to boot!
I think ( again my opinion here) but we have something of value incase TT nor MM like any of the choices at LB come their time to draft OR they cant pull off a trade up to grab someone else.He can always be traded if there is a willing partner OR released at Cut down time or anytime before the 53 man has to be set to start the season,I actually like the signing to a point considering the situation, and i still say with Nick Perry being back ( after playing only a hand ful of games but enough to know whats going on) and i still really like Terrell Manning alot( he was a hitter at camp and in games )but injury got him ( I read Colitis) and Desmond Bishop,,those 3 will help the LB situation a ton and i also like Dezmond Moses ( we dont talk about him much,he was another younster TT drafted in the last year or 2 who should get some playing time with a season now under his belt) IN OTHER WORDS i dont think the LB corp is in quite as bad shape as its been made out to be since there are a handful of guess who didnt play much last year who will get there chance,we should be quicker and more athletic,NOW, we just need to see if these guys can play.As we know not a whole lot of rookies get playing time around here and they will next year! I agree on the insurance and Bishop should give us that toughness that we lacked last year ( assuming hes healthy and ready to go) I like how Coach Mc.Sent the defensive staff to defensive school to learn more about the SF style offense, option offense ( i believe it was Texas A&M ( but i very well could be wrong) but they were sent to learn by defensive staffs who seen this often,so heres to hoping that helps alot as well!

I think Brad Jones is a prety good LB and he can play differnt spots. I don't see him a starter but the Packers must see something in him to pay him 3 yrs $11.75m, 3m signing bonus. That is huge money for him I think.

That is more than Hawk makes btw. I bet he is a bit pissed and it says this might be his last year in GB.

Brad Jones - 3 yrs 11.75m

Jenkins - 3 yrs 8 million
Canty - 3 yrs 8 million
Ricky Jean-Francois - 4yrs 22 million

I don't get it.

Brad Jones still has more game then Cullen Jenkins does at this point,Canty's knee didnt pass GB Dr physical ( Drs wouldnt pass him)
RJ-F 5 1/2M per average is quite alot for a player coming to GB when they need cap space to sign Rodgers. I agree with what NLY said on another thread, alot of cash,in fact,i can see TT loading up so the cap hit is 20M plus for 13 and under 19M in 14 and lower every year ect.Mathews and Raji wont come cheap, but,if the corners can come through again,WIlliams will be gone,Hawk will be gone and Finley will be gone,so thats cash right there and their replacments are on the roster!( Shields,House and Hayward plus a 13 pick, for Williams) Finley( Quarrless) Hawk,( pick any 4 of the ILB now not including draft)and between the 3,thats a bit over 21M or so

Jones is our insurance right now. He's played outside in Perry's spot, and it wouldn't surprise me to see him start there. To me Perry is an up-field guy who can hold the edge but lacks the mobility to cover in space. He'll be fine as a pass rush specialist but I doubt he'll turn into 3-down backer on the outside. Jones obviously can fill in on the inside too. I don't get the hating on AJ Hawk. The guy had the same number of tackles as Patrick Willis--check the stats. Willis certainly enjoys a better supporting cast. This is where I question the Jones money too GBP. If the rest of the front seven is making plays, how does Morgan Burnett lead all NFL safeties (and the team) in tackles?
