I didn't say anything about hating the Vikings. Everyone here knows you are Ezg or you are his identical twin. As far as too much Viking-hating garbage it is funny that you say that with all the Packer-hating garbage that comes from you and others. The fact of the matter is that the Packers have won championships and the Vikings have failed numerous times to do so, PERIOD. VN/EZG you are a jealous Viking fan with the success the Packers have had and your jealousy will continue. I don't have to bad mouth the Vikings because their record speaks for itself. ZERO championships. As far as saying we are all fools is hilarious coming from the biggest fool and liar on topix. Go ahead and keep up with your little charade, it keeps us entertained.

His attempt at another identity is every bit as successful as his Monahdav attempt. It's frickin unbelieveable that someone with so little education and poor writing skills keeps thinking he can hide his identity by changing his screen name. There is no limit to ezg's stupidity. The moron tries to act as if he has never heard of ezg, but defends posts by him. He's just sooooooo stupid it is hilarious! He has actually caused many Viking fans from posting because of the embarrassment of being associated with an imbecile and valor stealing POS like ezg/Viking Nation/Monahdav.

Good question. He would easily be caught in more lies simply by asking him some questions. But is that really necessary? I don't think we need to catch him in any more lies to figure him out. I mean, when he sank to making false claims of being a wounded war hero, that summed up who he is. The imbecile keeps posting without using capitalization, punctuation or contractons properly. He is posting from Madera. He makes the same spelling errors. He uses the same words wrong all the time, such as "your" for "you're" and he whines and bitches about the same things. AND he's too stupid to realize how easy it is for others to know who he is! There is and always has been ONLY one person so classless and moronic.

ezg/vn just tried to tell me that Ponder is a “game manager” like Dillfer and the 5th ranked vikings defense would help them win a Super Bowl like the 2000 Ravens defense did. Yeah, he is that F*ing stupid.

Just the 5th ranked Vikings defense is hilarious, let alone on par with the one of the best defenses ever. The guy is not right in the head

I seem to recall the 2000 Ravens going 5 straight games without the offense scoring a TD! AND THEY WON 4 OF THEM! It's hilarious that anybody would be dumb enough to compare the Viking defense with the Ravens defense. However, it is fair to compare the 2000 Raven offense to the Viking offense. EZG MIGHT be smarter than I thought! ROFLMAO Naw, he's still an idiot.

Take a journey through a new realm…. Not a realm of time or space or existence...but realm of stupidity. A realm where only the utmost unthinkably most stupid comments and thoughts can ever exist. This is the realm of the brain of ezg/vn, or what is left of it....

The Vikings defense isnt set up that way but we could be headed that way with our improved secondary. The Vikes are always stout against the run but we need to create more turnovers.

“Could be heading that way”?
That is like saying you are heading south on I35 from MSP and saying you are headed to Rio de Janeiro, but not by plane or car, but by walking on your hands. Not gonna happen! Improvement is one thing, 2000 Ravens is another world.

I would like to hear your opinions on who is going to replace Winfield in the slot this year and also be a force against the run like he was.

I am not saying moving on was bad, but Winfield had a very good year last year and played a great deal of snaps. I know you have Rhodes coming in (no NFL experience) and Robinson (2nd year). But how do they improve the secondary with the loss of Winfield by bringing in a rookie? Does Rhodes start on the outside along with Cook? Does Sherrals (sp) take the slot again (burnt in the past) or does Robinson get the slot now (lack of experience). Winfield was one hell of a run defender too I might add. Do these guys play the run like he does? I know Harrison was a great rookie safety, great pick… but who is the other safety? Any good?

Now hold on there don't get all defensive, I am not starting any fights, just wanted to hear what is going on with that 24nd ranked pass defense that is all. From my sources the vikings pass defense was not good at all last year, we all saw it and stats are what they are. 24th pass yrds, 25th opponent QB rating, 27th INTs. Now building that up to be like the 2000 Ravens is one hell of a hill to climb, now minus 1 major proven key component in the slot (who also helps the run defense).

Just want to know your thoughts. I am sure some of the stats for passing are obscured just playing in the NFC North vs good QBs. I get that. I just want you take on the new personnel and how they will improve things. Who is playing where this year?

Rhodes will be on the outside with Cook. The coaching staff is hoping that Robinson can pick up the slot position.Otherwise it could be Jacob Lacey who we picked up from the Lions and actually rated out pretty well last year if you care to look it up.At safety the battle is between Mistral Raymond and Jamarcus Sanford and possibly Robert Blanton who we drafted in the 5th round last year.Probably the combination of Raymond and Stanford. The two did rotate at times and bring different talents. Sanford is a willing hitter and is strong coming up in the run defense, but struggles covering the back end. Raymond offers more range but has made some mental mistakes in his two years in the league. Sanford had 80 tackles last year and forced four fumbles. We all miss Winfield and Im pretty sure he'll come back and retire a Viking however Im not so sure he could have repeated this year and we'd have to address it soon anyhow.Sherels is strictly backup at this time his main job is punt returner which hes quite good at.

Thanks for the nice update of the vikings secondary. It is nice to hear it from someone who follows it on a regular basis, because I don’t. The reason I asked is because having several good DBs is important in today’s league and a good slot guy goes a long way too. Many teams have 5 DBs on the field at one time. Winfield was a good slot guy and I always respected him especially against the run. Seems like that maybe an area of weakness this year with Robinson taking over. He has never done it before and will be tested early and often I think. I also read he is not known for his tackling, unlike Winfield. But who knows, maybe he turns out to be a star. Then there is Cook, who I am not impressed with, and Rhodes could the guy but a rookie and we must see how he does. Smith is stud S and the others are not so good I think. I just don’t see MN having a strong secondary with all these new and unproven guys coming. Just my opinion though, I am not saying they can’t do it, I am just saying they more than likely can’t do it very well this year. ;) I don’t see an improvement by having the best CB leave and bring in unproven guys to do the job. Plus the vikings secondary was ranked pretty low last year to begin with. But like everything else... We have to wait and see.

Slotted in a new role, Vikings' Robinson learns on the fly
http://www.startribune.com/sports/vikings/209...
-----
The last five players to leave the Winter Park practice field during Wednesday’s organized team activities were four eager rookies and a second-year player who’s trying to make people forget just how well Antoine Winfield played slot cornerback in the Vikings’ nickel defense the past nine seasons.
“Those are some big shoes to fill,” cornerback Josh Robinson said after putting in a little more post-practice overtime.“That’s for darn sure.”

Robinson has a long way to go. How long? Well, this long:
Reporter:“What was your comfort level in the slot last year?”
Robinson:“Not very high since I didn’t really learn nickel last year. This is all new to me.”
Or this long:
Reporter:“Is it harder to play in the slot than on the outside?”
Robinson:“I wouldn’t know. I really don’t have any game-time experience with it. I think it’s something I’ll learn eventually. We’ll see.”
Or, finally, this long:
Reporter:“Did you at least play some slot corner at Central Florida?”
Robinson:“Never.”

Just keep in mind that even Winfield, for all his veteran savvy, wasn't a good matchup against the receivers in the division at 5-foot-9. Now, Minnesota hopes it can pair Rhodes with 6-foot-2 Chris Cook in the secondary to better combat the likes of Johnson, Marshall, Nelson and Jones. His size is obvious," Frazier said of Rhodes. "He's a guy who has great length. He has very good speed. He has some turnover ability as well and he's competed at a very high level against some very good competition in the ACC. So, we feel like he's a guy who can come in and match up with some of the bigger receivers in our division and our league as well; should be able to help us early on. It was an area we needed to address, and we were able to get it addressed."Rhodes is not considered raw as far as prospects go, but even he knows improvement will be needed to face the top receivers in the league.
