After yet another fumbled kick/punt,the Packers cut Ross today..Randall Cobb may take over, because the Packers have a bye, they may look around ( having 2 weeks) and sign or trade for a return specialist.

Chicago"s Henry Melton tore an ACL and is out for the season.Bad break for Melton and Chicago on that one..No one likes to see any player get injured and miss the season.

I was fully expecting to see Johnathan Franklin at least on kickoffs after the fumble. Really surprised to see Ross back in there.

Unf. Randall Cobb is by far their best Returner, but, hes also their best WR,So, if Cobb does return kicks and gets injured,we are screwed big time.
I do wonder if they will trade for someone, maybe sign Josh Cribbs ( who was cut, dont know if he was signed by anyone else) maybe Franklin is an option ( like you said) but Franklin and Starks were the only healthy back at that point,so i can see Franklin not returning kicks at that point, but, if Lacy is back after the bye,and if Kuhn is healthy,i can see it,especially if Starks is healthy ( havent heard about his lower leg injury yet)

If I remember correctly Franklin had a hard time fielding punts ad dropped them alt in traiingcamp. I don't remember how he did with kickoffs. I hope they bring someone in.

Either that, just let all kickoffs go into the end zone and have someone take a knee ( which in some cases is better then Ross anyway). They need to bring someone in,in fact, they are going to have to.I just cant see Cobb returning kicks,If he gets injured that will hurt.

You don't feed the punt returner fried chicken for a pre-game meal

I didnt like the greg jennings trade and this shows why!!!! You never can have too many good WRs and now GB needs him.Next time -"pay the man"!
Go rob lbf's house to get the money if you need to.

IM actually glad GJ left,we need the cash and have more then enough WRs..
They will sign someone to return kicks/punts at some point during the bye week or maybe someone like Micah Hyde..
Sadly kick returns arent so much a problem as most kickers bury it deep in the end zone ( unless they know your weak at the position, then they may squib it,knock it down before it hits deep ),,prob. we need a punt returner who wont fumble /can actually catch it..I was pissed they cut Tyrone Walker and kept Ross..Maybe Walker didnt return punts well, but, the way Ross played in 3 games, Walker couldnt possibly have done worse IMHO

Sorry Reg but I gotsta disagree with you here.

I wouldn't pay anywhere near that kind of money the vikes did for his services. I don't think they need him at WR, sure it would be nice to have him but at what price?

IMO Cobb is a much better option at WR and a rising star. I would rather they use all that ‘would be money’ on signing Cobb, Nelson, and Jones to contract extensions. The Packers are on a tight budget after signing Matthews and Rodgers and I wouldn’t pay so much for a WR we really don’t need. Even if we still had Greg I still wouldn’t put Cobb back on KO and risk injury to him.

GBP Punt returners are short-term propositions health-wise so flaunt them while you got them. You could always find another fast midget for AR to throw to, they are a dime a dozen because the new fad for WR's is big and physical, aka Megatron, Bryant, Thomas

Finley to me should have been the one to have been gone. Jennings you can pretty much count on him to catch the ball a good portion of the time vs. butter fingers finley. Cobb doing punt returner and wr has worked and yes there allways is that risk of injury but having nelson, jones, cobb and jennings gives you that extra advantage.
I understand the money situation jennings wanting a kings ransom but maybe GB could have traded finley, jarret bush(sorry eric i know you like jarret) and tramon williams getting back a good chunk of the money jennings was asking. Our young players could have taken there positions.

Im not sure Finley would have been trade able.Butter fingers with a big mouth isnt a good combo.
I think TT did the right thing, and Cobb will be paid nicely in the near future!
Glad you mentioned Jarrett Bush! Bush very well maybe a cap casualty as Devon House is playing Corner very well,Micah Hyde is playing well as not only safety/Corner but is playing Special teams very well and that was Bush's strength ( if he has any)so theres a chunk of cash for the cap.Got to fiqure Kuhn wont be back either,,Tramon ( since Shields,House and Hayward) are here is gone as well,so there is plenty of cash to sign Raji,Nelson,Jones and a few others.Got to consider as well, maybe Rodgers is or was more comfortable with Finley at TE then Jennings at WR,so that has to be considered. It seems pretty obvious Jennings wasnt crazy about Rodgers which is a shame because now hes finding out Favre and Rodgers pretty much made Jennings, hes not doing SHIT with Ponder.I wonder if Bakhatari and Barclay play well at the tackles and Newhouse resigns cheap as insurance ( which i think would be a great move,he played both tackle positions,,good for depth) if Bulaga is available to be traded or released for cap space ( going to be a FA after 14 season and im sure he wants to start)

If you are a decent WR why would you go to Ponder? The danger in signing Jennings at the expense of others is putting too many eggs in one basket. A couple of concussions and he doesn't play for a while, then where are you?

that could be said for any important player having there bell rung.with jennings you get a almost sure hands catcher and the ability to get open and a better player overall than finley.in the 2010 Sb did we need finley- no and won.
By trading finley , williams and bush you retain a player that still has the skills.
If jennings did get hurt you still have cobb nelson jones.
Our young players can do the job at taking over those positions.
With the pass defense coverages capers has to get back to more man to man and less zone.
We get burned more times in zone than the benefits.
The takeaways have been on a decline since the 2010 season.Get back to more takeaways also.

Trading williams bush an finley would not hurt GB

I hope not! GB is going to have to cut or trade Williams and Bush to free up cap space.
