Brett Favre is over-rated

Favre has always played on the greatest teams and has been the weak link on those great Packer teams. Brett is no Tom Brady, who carries his team, the Packers carry Favre.
Favre could be the most over-rated athlete of the 20th/21st century. |

Gus; your comments are baseless, but this is America a everyone gets an opinion even when its just plain stupid.

I don't understand why you have to insult people just because you disagree with their opinions. Every time someone expresses their thoughts about Favre that are not consistent with your beliefs you jump all over them.
Tom Brady will most likely go down as one of the great QBs of all time. He was on 3 SuperBowl winning teams, and I suspect he'll be on many more. This fella Gus has every right to make the comments he made. Stats alone will never be the gauge for determining the great QBs of all time, so you may have to come up with something more if Brett is your choice. Disagree with Gus if you may, but let him speak without intimidation from you. It would not hurt for you to be civil, and in fact it may even attract more readers and posters. |

Your wrong jerry... stats alone made marino one of the greatest in peoples opinions... favre has stats a ring and the wins not to mention his consecutive games played streak that makes him more amazing. I will admit favre is overrated because noone should ever get that much attention esp when your 38 years old... But i do agree everyone is allowed to have an opinion but he isnt saying it to put his opinion or facts across... he is saying it to piss people off so he should get what people can bring at him. |
|
Now to open my guns... Your wrong. Sorry, but wrong. This A@@@@&&hole is a troll and tyrying to cause trouble, Jerry and you know it!!! BTW, how is Everett??? Knock it off, Jerry. You get old, real old real fast. I am pissed off by your meager support of some knucklehead's post against Favre. Rick |

How much of an IQ does it take for somebody to realize that they will be treated like the way Gus was when the post somthing as outrageous as that on a packer forum???? Wouldn't it be much better for somebody to come on a packer forum with an opinion like that and provide evidence or facts as to why Favre might be overrated?? I mean, Football 101 might be a great starting place for a "fella" like Gus. He said Favre has always been on great teams that carried him. What do you call Tom Brady and the current team he is on now?!?!?!?!?! If it weren't for Randy Moss, Tom Brady wouldn't have nearly the numbers he has this year. Randy Moss draws double coverage everytime and still comes away with amazing catches. Wes Welker, Donte Stallworth, and Ben Watson make ridicoulsy dangerous wide out help. From the bottom-up this offense is POWERFUL. There isn't a single problem with this offense and they have played nobody outside the cowboys. 38 year old favre is playing with an average offense with the lowest running game and is putting up the kind of numbers Tom Brady has always put up in the past. Go ahead and give the QB all the credit when its another team besides the packers. Tom Brady is playing on the most perfect offense I've ever seen. It is more powerful than the 2004 colts when Manning threw for 49 td's. Everything about it is perfect, thus the reason for Brady's numbers. Gus couldn't find one logical argument, did you ever think he just wanted to fuel the fire of the packer fans???? |

Joe I guess I don't know how you were able to determine the guy just wants to piss people off as you put it. And even if that is his intent, so what?
And Rick why am I wrong? You don't agree he should be allowed to voice his opinion? I guess what you are saying is that no one who disagrees with a certain belief should post here. That's pretty shallow, guy. I believe that all opinions should be welcomed here. If you are not mature enough to handle them, well then .......... |

no wait jerry loves favre. LOL.
agreed rick and joe. I forgot but isnt SB victorys a stat. Im not sure. But if what you say is true then favre is the #1(IMO) if stats dont matter right (being SB victorys=stats)(just thought i would let you know that you are agian looking off) and more opniated then anyone on this forum. So if we dont count stats now then who is the best QB jerry? Also to that effect. Who cares according to people who think SB define a QB. So Rex grossman is better then marino and dilfer is also better then marino. Is this what your saying lol. THis is great im not going to go into it again but yes GUS=troll and thats all that were saying. Jerry if we wanted to hear anti team remarks we would go visit your home over in bear country. I still dont get the logic well if im the only one that must mean im right mentality that yo uhave jerry. Jerry you do get old. The reason why people here for the most part respond to you its because its fun. But the other is we try and give you the benefit of the doubt over and over and over. But you are so hard to get along with since your so full of narrow minded opnions and are willing to falsify info. to make your point (ex.patriots run/pass comparsion +100000 more times) when someone has to make stuff up it really kills all meaning from that person and im surprise dyour not embarresed with how many times you contradict yourself, use double standards, and rasie yourself up like your a god when in reallity your just a stubborn uneducated fan. |

I want to point out about moss and brady. Jerry did you even see the TD passes to moss yesterday. They were INT for any other reciever. they were thrown tothe othjer team and moss ran up and caught them literally out of there hands. So yes anyone can llok good if normal ly those would have been INT fdor sure but some one with the skil of moss(ohh i hate to say it but you know moss the guy you were not even close to correct about)to catch them. I think maybe you watch play by play on the computer and formultey you own idea of what happens. |

LOL its fun. But away from talkig trash. Can you fricken believe moss. I mean really what a maniac. barring injury brady and moss will own every single season QB WR stat there is.
Teams carried brady. Case and point right here. Brady aside from this year never stomped out anyone good. Look it up. They were constatly held in games by a real good def. and probably the 2nd greatest def. coach of all time. another would be a stat is how much the pats have beten there opp by. Well if you look into that you would notcie that the MVP on the pats was not brady its was the kicker who pretty much won every single big game the pats have ever played in and anyone can tell you taht. I will give brady the fact that he drove down the field but it wasnt often his driving ended in a TD by brady or company they always finshed with a FG in the final seconds to win. I tak nothing away fro the PAts(cheating and all) but to say favre was carried ad brady was not is a huge mistruth. |

Andrew, you and some other regulars on this forum always want someone to prove their opinions when you have no other rebuttal. An opinion is an opinion, and it does not need any proof.
Let me quote from The American Heritage Dictionary "opinion: a belief or conclusion held with confidence, but not substantiated by positive knowledge or proof." Randy Moss was a flop for the past 2 or 3 years before teaming up with Brady. As for the best offense ever, that's a premature statement. But Tom is fast becoming a QB who deserves to be catergorized as great. Demeaning his talents and accomplishments does not make Brett a better QB. |
|
Hands down those deep balls to Moss would have been picked off by any other receiver because most of them don't quite have the talent to snag them with their left shoulder........ Moss is the reason for Brady's 27 touchdowns. Manning had 22 at this point in '04 and Favre had 21 at this point in '96. The difference of those 5-6 touchdowns is a player like Randy Moss. He makes the qb position so easy. I tried proving that over and over, and well, over again in the offseason for us to pick him up. The ANTI-"Mossheads" swore he was washed up and wouldn't benefit the patriots at all. Superbowls are won by teams not players, but he is a big part of their high powered offense... |
|
I watched the Lions play Tampa, and the Bears play the Eagles. My interest is always in division games first. However I have enjoyed watching Tom Brady play over the years, including a couple of games this year. He keeps himself under control like no othe QB I've seen. He is fun to watch, but I don't get caught up in all the media hype about him this year. |
|
Keep in mind they played Miami who has not one a game all year. Hell even I could have caught a couple of passes against them, so don't make Moss out to be more than he is. Now Tom Brady......he is something else. |
|
So your point is you could even make catches against their secondary and moss isn't anything to ride home about....But you couldn't make mosses against their shitty ass secondary and that tom brady is everything to ride home up especially yesterday's game.. I don't really get it...I saw the highlights and Moss made those plays and not Brady. He tossed it em up there and the receiver did the rest. I think Brady is a good qb but I, too, don't buy into all the media hype.. |
|
Him being with brady has nothing to do with it... if u put him with favre or manning or palmer or mcnabb he would be doing the same thing... we all told u moss would do this when the packers didnt get him and u said he was done and how wrong were u... i pointed out numerous times that the only reasons his numbers slipped was because he played with oakland... He is still the best in the game and he is still the most gifted wideout ever... and he was a steal for a 2nd round pick let alone a 4th... Brady is 1 td away from a career high and its only week 7... that alone shows how much of an effect moss has made... Brett never had his randy moss and brett never had a guy that was half as talented as a randy moss and yet he still through up 40 something tds a year and won 3 mvps. Give favre in his prime a moss in his prime and add 1800 yards and 20 tds to that list a year and about 3 more supwerbowl rings. Brady is doing this because of the weapons he has and that is the same thing with peyton manning. |
