<quoted text>The most famous NFL coach on the planet? Your joking right? So hard up for attention that hes doing State Farm commercials with Aaron Rodgers...Screwing up in the playoffs like the Bears did in 84 and 86? 1 team wins it all per year..
The big bad Bears with the big bad defense got it done 1 time.the Best defense in history and with Walter Peyton won 1, you shut out 2 teams in the playoffs when offenses werent nearly as sophisticated..a qb throws for 3K yards it was a great season,Now its expected...when Peyton ran for 1K yards folks were psyched! NOW, a back is supposed to run for 1K yards..IF you reall think the 85 Bears with their 1 championship is better then GB 3 straight on 2 different occasions. JJohnsons Dallas team who won 3,,,Bill Walsh won 4 or 5..Miami won back to back and an undefeated season....96 Packers ( 1st team to lead the league in scoring AND give up the least amount of points in the same season, since the 72 or 73 Dolphins,, Baltimore defense who was as dominate in a league thats much more sophisticated and much more offense,,STL Rams greatest show on turf ( all of who would score 40 or more on the 85 pts on the Bears defense) your a sorry guy.Face is, a dominating team wins more then 1,,Chicago CHOKED face it. you only got to 1 SB which isnt as good. By the way,,did the big bad Bears every lead the league in scoring and give up the least amount of points in a season? NO, GB did,,the the Bears get to at least 2 SB,,GB did AND the Packers got to 3 straight NFC title games ( and it should have been 4 with Jerry Rice knee a foot off the ground on a fumble that GB recovered and the refs reversed it,,in the game Owens caught the TD with 09 left or GB would have made 4 NFC title games straight, now thats domination,,GB won 3 Championships TWICE! Steel Curtain Steelers won how many SB in a row! Parcells Giants BEAT Ditka's Bears and won 2 SB in 4 years and the fact my friend you think Chicago is better then an undefeated team that won back to back is laughable
mike Ditka hard up for attention? Lol. What planet do you live on!! You can go on and on and on but it will not change the fact the 1985 Bears is the best team that ever played in the NFl . Choke on it Eric!

2 different times..The Bears did it before the cap, with one of the highest payrolls,,,during an era of run,run then pass the 85 Def. wouldnt come close to stopping todays high powered offenses..Any SB team practically in the past decade would CRUSH the 85 Bears defense with ease,Players today are much bigger, stronger, faster and athletic.
Watered down 14 games,,with little FA Miami won 17 games undefeated and won back to back..point is,,Chicago had 1 fluke year,,what did they do in 84? shit,,86 shit?, they had 1 solid year but in todays standards,,NO WAY .SF offense today would put up 40 or more.STL ( greatest show on Turf would put up 50 with ease) Baltimore 00 team would stomp Chicago offense like a bug. a DOMINATE TEAM does it for more then 1 season, they had a fluke season where they all peaked at the same time. which is fine and great and it was a great defensive year but to say they would eat Baltimore 00 team is stupid to say the least..
lol Eric!!! 91-10 points for the post season.

Good work you have managed to dodge any discussions about the choking bears past and present. You are quite skilled at turning your tail and running. No surprise coming from proven bet welcher.

You also said the Packers last 3 NFC North Championships is classified as-- not doing shit after winning the Super Bowl and they are chokers.

Good luck convincing anyone here the bears are worth a shit now and since 1985 (when they “might” have had the best team ever).

I will save this thread and we can get back to it and your quotes if the bears ever do win the NFC North and you try and boast about it... since after all you said it is not shit if they do.

Is there a link for this thread? It says rated #1 but I didn’t even get to see the ratings and who rated them. It would be nice to at least read what the hell you are talking about.

<quoted text> choking? That word is used for screwing up in a game, like when the packers play in the playoffs..
Oh I didn't know we were using your own made up definition of the word "choke". I thought we were using a defintion. My bad, what was I thinking using a given defintion of word to argue about? I have this same problem with ezg357 who makes up his own crap and thinks it is real.

I always used this
"In sports, a "choke" is the failure of an athlete or an athletic team to win a game or tournament when the player or team had been strongly favored to win or had squandered a large lead in the late stages of the event." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Choke_ (sports)

IF you want to use your own made up defintion just let me know next time.

To me "choking" and "getting beat" are 2 differnt things.

and after that 1 season, you didnt even come close to sniffing the SB again with that best team in history..By the way GB lead the NFL in scoring,,Gave up the least amount of points AND won a SB and they backed that up by going to the SB the following season and a missed call and a great throw and catch ( Steve Young and T. Owens) from their 4th STRAIGHT NFC title game,,Chicago eliminated in 84, SB in 85,, choked ( your words not ours) in 86..Greatest team in history,,thanks for the huge laughs !

The 1985 Bears were one-hit wonders. Everybody knows that. That '85 Bears team couldn't carry the jockstraps of the '60s Packers,'70s Steelers, Cowboys and Dolphins,'80s 49ers,'90s Cowboys, Packers and Broncos or the '00s Patriots. One-hit wonders who for one year put it together and beat a very piss poor Patriots team in the Super Bowl. The '90s Bills would have run the '85 Bears off the field. ONE year they caught magic in a bottle, ONE year! Had the talent to be a "dynasty" like some of the teams mentioned above but pissed away the opportunity they had. Bears fans can't answer why because they can't come up with their patented excuses.

It wont happen again because the NFL is designed for Offenses to score points, very few people like the old 10-7 games anymore. That said..Try to convince yourself that a team that was a 1 year fluke is better then a team that went undefeated and lost 1 or 2 games in 2 seasons and won back to back ( Dolphins)...Try to convince yourself that your team who won 1 is better then a team that won 3 straight on 2 different occasions,or a team that won multiple SB like Pitts Dal or SF

Tell me about it! A team that won 1 is better then a team that won multiple ones. Its sad that he has to go back 29 years for their 1 proud moment and worst of all the fact he thinks the 85 Bears would have a remote shot at beating any Championship team of the past 20 years.Players are bigger, faster, quicker and much more athletic today. ITs common sense NO TEAM is a better SB team then 1 who went undefeated 1 season and lost 2 games over a 2 year span and won back to back..a team that won 3 straight Twice..Pitts. won 4 of them,Dallas won 3,,SF won 4 or 5.. I do wish there was a way to go back and somehow match them up,it would be fun to watch these team light Chicago up like a Christmas tree

They do have a hell of a team but paying Russell Wilson,Richard Sherman, and the other youngsters in the secondary is going to be very tough, they proved they can draft defense which will make it a bit easier to replace but dont be shocked if Seattle loses some of the staff this off season as SB Champs, like happens to almost every SB Champ.Job well done Seattle but the next 3 -5 years is going to be very tough.SF has done it ( 3 straight NFC title games) but lost in the SB as Seattle won it but dont count SF out,but then again, they have to pay Kapernick and some others as well,so, there will be cap victims on both sides, which is what the cap is designed to do.

Common knowledge? What's common knowledge "Packer hacker/Pac luv" is that you are a welcher and a liar. Keep going on with this bs about the '85 Bears. It is so hard for you to admit they were a flash-in-the-pan team that won a Super Bowl and failed miserably after that. Woulda, shoulda and coulda come to mind about the '85 Bears. So they choked. A team that would have live up to high expectations, should have lived up to high expectations and could have lived up to high expectations. But, they simply choked it all away. Could have been a dynasty and then we would hold them in the high regard that the Packers, Cowboys, Steelers, 49ers, to just name a few dynasties in NFL history, are held. Poor little Bears, just a dynasty wannabe.

The best team in Nfl history, shutout every team in the playoffs. They didn't choke if they didn't stay together. Now if you want to talk about choking.. 2010 packers: they stayed together and can't compete with the playoff teams and have choked in the playoffs ever since. The 1985 Bears in their short time together is known as the best Super Bowl team in history.and the best defense that ever played .

Once again, live in your little dream world. Since winning the Super Bowl after the 2010, one in which they beat the Bears to get to, the Packers have won the division and made the playoffs. Unfortunately, they have not fared well in the playoffs. Where oh where were the Bears during the same time frame? Sitting at home on their asses is where. Just like you they failed but can only say this. "Back in 1985 we won the Super Bowl. Sure wish we could win another". Take your little tail and waggle on out of here. We are tired of the only thing you have to brag about. Too bad you rest your laurels on a game that happened 29 yrs ago. When the Bears finally do something, like get to the playoffs, maybe we will listen to you. As of now it is all about your jealousy of the Packers and your love of the under-achieving Bears. No one buys your story about who the best SB is or was and no one cares. We will never know who had the best defense or offense because of the way the game has changed in the last 30 yrs. All pure speculation. I guess if all you have to feel happy about is the '85 Bears then good for you. You would think, after 29 yrs, you might be concerned about the failure of your current Bears team.

TO me, the best team ever would win more then 1.They had a great year, where all the stars.planets and everything else lined up perfectly but also consider offenses the past 20 years are much more complex, offenseive players are much bigger, faster, quicker more athletic..
Offenses are run,run then pass and ( hope you had a 1st down after 3 plays, although i do like football much better then)..,SO you will see teams average much more pts.
NO WAY Any SB team is better then the Dolphins of 72 73,,,UNDEFEATED! in 1 season and 2 loses in 2 years and 2 SB Championships,,you think the 85 Bears are better then a team that was undefeated and 2 loses in 2 seasons ( 26-2) reg season and 2 SB Champ.) think again.
As for now,Chicago has taken care of their destiny for the short term, they resigned Cutler ( good move as no better options out there for them,) but i said it before and ill say it again, as long as Cutler is qb,they will not win a SB,Hes to mentally soft, get rattled way to easy, has a pathetic record vs teams with winning records...The big bad Bears had a pretty good defense over the past 5 or so years ( before 13s injury fest) and Cutler has 1 playoff win and that was over N.O. who lost how many straight road playoff games at that point
