He would be a huge bonus, that's for sure. I don't know that it's time to panic like the article implies, though. That's the beauty of the way the Packers have built their team... one bad draft pick doesn't kill their future. Let's say hypothetically that he never plays another game: would it hurt? Of course. But, it's not a devastating blow... they do have other options such as Bulaga and/or Datko. And it's not like Newhouse is the worst LT in the league. Not the best, but serviceable.

Justin Harrell was an unmitigated bust. No argument there. The Packers seem to have done pretty well without him though. Same for Sherrod... if he can come back and be a rock at LT, fantastic, but if not, the Packers will survive just fine.

I agree, and strong running game will only help the oleine in pass protection. If defense have to be worried about the run then they cnnot just rush up feild after Rodgers every play. They also can't get by with only 6 in the box or 2 deep safties. This all makes Rodgers very tough to stop. The status quo game plan vs the Packers will have o change if we can run the ball too.

Yeah, you can't account for injuries. Just bad luck. Same with Mike Neal. Trouble is, neither one of them has much experience, as a result. I don't where this guy thinks Tretter fits into this--they're pegging him for a guard/center at this level.

Im wondering if the kid from Cornell will be our Center in the 14 season.EDS is a FA after 13,so a year on the P.S. maybe a good thing.
Injuries are unfortunate but it happens.I still say Sherrod will be back,TT PUP him last year until the last minute then IR ed him.He has had quite a while to rehab. That would be killer if he was healthy enough and came back 100%.Yes, he didnt start right away but got his starting job a few games before he broke the leg.

Why start running the ball now? Why mess with what has worked? Rodgers works much better with an empty backfield.

Running keeps AR healthier, less hits, sacks and most important,we may actually move the chains on those 3rd and 1 in the mid 4th quarter to keep the clock going and the drive alive and put games away.

other than what eric just said, it makes game planning for the Pack that much harder. We can control the clock, wear down defenses, keep out defense off the field longer. Teams won't be able to only put 6 in the box, or have 2 deep safeties to slow down the pass attack. Play action will actually work now and then. Dlines cannot just rush up field after Rodgers every single play if there is a legit threat of running the ball, the olinemen will benefit too from this. IMO it changes everything and makes Rodgers job easier, imagine that Rodgers having it easier and destroying everyone!

It is also a mental boost when you line up on 3rd and 1 and slam it down the defenses throat! Then on the following set of downs Rodgers make one hell of a throw for 6 pts and defenses feel defeated.

I also look forward to a game where we jusr run, all day long, Rodgers goes 15 for 17 and 1 TD and 150 yrds as the running game piles up the numbers. Every defense we face is going to come in and say "make them beat us with the running game, stop Rodgers first".
That is what they have said for awhile now and we had no run game to reply with and Rodgers beat most of them anyway, if that changes and we have a run game and Rodgers they are all in big big trouble!

I don't Mister Pack's got much to worry about. I don't think McCarthy's going to turn in Chuck Knox any time soon.

Hey Eric. I have to believe these 2 rb's will make the Packers a better offense. Drawing the opposing defenses up to the threat of the run will make the play action passing for Rodgers that much more effective. We have seen in the past the benefit of a running game has done for the Packers and Rodgers. I expect to see more of the same.

Hey pbwk!!!!! How true and imagine if Sherrod is healthy on top of it and we can actually see how good he can be.Defending the passing game is hard enough,How much better can they be with much better play from the LT and a running game, thats scary.Im hoping they can find another FB who can block a bit better then Kuhn, that would help out the running game a bit more as well

Is anyone concerned that we didn't add much nastiness or tackling help on defense? Datone Jones is a situational pass rusher. We didn't lose the the 49ers because we couldn't score.

Real classy PB, I have to just shake my head on this one. I am a shamed of you and you should be too.:(

I once thought you to be an ok guy and a level headed viking fan, I was wrong, but truth is you’re an AHOLE too!!!!!!

Only a complete and utter DBAG would call someone a “failure” for breaking their leg in 2 places (he broke his tibia and fibula in his right leg)on fluke play.

You are loser like all the rest, obsessed with the Packers success over the rest of NFC North and now have to just say horrible thing. Fact is you show up more on the Packers forum than the Vikings forum nowadays. Why is that? Are really that interested in Packer football?

Sherrod was a good pick.(he actually "fell" to the Packers) and he happened to suffer a FLUKE gruesome injury probably robbing him of a good career in the NFL. Way to celebrate another man’s injuries dbag. Real classy buddy...:(

Your post was pathetic and talking trash about injured players shows you poor taste and how far you are willing to go with your stupidity. All I can say is that as a viking fan you get what you deserve... nothing but disappointment

So - Here's to another year of Packer success EATING AT YOU! Disagree? Then place your bet! You talked for 2 years now and can't back it up, only losers do that....

I guess we have something in common.... I would never bet on the queens either!

I never said I wished for it to happen.Same thing happened to Jahvid Best.Lot of people said we made a mistake drafting Gerhart over Best, Well?.I dont know how many people said Peterson would never be 100 percent again at the same time they said what a loser our team was and we would finish in last position. This post is in the nfl football post not just the Packers.

I NEVER said you did wish for it. So that is irrelevant isn’t it?

I SAID your comments were that of DBAG and an AHOLE! Gerhart over Best has nothing to do with your RUDE / AHOLE comments about a guy suffering a freak injury possibly limiting his career and then calling that a “failure”. He fractured both bones in his leg!!!!

What you said was sad and pathetic, you are no different the rest of the mindless DBAGS. If your intension was to say something to piss me off then congrats, if ezg or packluv would have said it I wouldn’t care…. I expected more from you. I won’t make that mistake again.

You really need to get a grip.

Awesomeness!!!!
BP,
You just said on the Vikings forum to not count Vikings WR Greg Childs out! He blew out both knees last year on 1 play after suffering a major knee injury in college. They don't know if he can return. He never played in the NFL.

But! Don’t count him out you say!

Yet! You count outPpackers tackle Sherrod?

I need no more proof of how you are a WISHFUL THINKER!

Well GBPmies. He would be an extra bonus. We have lots of recievers that were looking at.Were looking at Chris Carters son Duron as well as Ponders wide reciever in college Rodney Smith and maybe Stephen Burton will breakout this year.Plus I think Jerome Simpson will have a good year as well.See GBPmies we went 10-6 with hardly any recievers so were only going to go up.People have come back from Patella tendons just not two of them.Maybe Sherrod will make it back but EJ Henderson was never the same because of the steel rod they put in there.

So what you are saying is EJ is a "failure" for his freak injury like Sherrod? I thought EJ was great not a "failure". Man you are cold.

btw I dont give 2 wet turds about Burton, Simpson, Smith, or Carter's son. Who the F are they?(retorical)
