The Vikings king in the NFC North?

“I can hear you all out there saying, 'Too soon.”

Veteran NFL writer Peter King writes a Monday Morning Quarterback column at SI.com, and this week proclaimed the Minnesota Vikings as the third-best team in the NFC behind the Dallas Cowboys and New York ... via WisInfo

The packers are old news with no qb. I wouldn't be surprised if the vikings are in the super bowl this year. enjoy the game.

I don't mind being underdogs. We're still pretty good. It's funny, before Favre retired everyone talked like he was the weak link, and now that he has, they talk about how we're no good without him. With all due respect to King, though, I think he's overlooking the Seahawks. They finished strong, knocked out the Vikes, had us on the ropes early on and really improved themselves this off-season--and with Holmgren hanging it up they have something to play for.

Blane, I thought you knew more about football. Nobody thinks the packers are a 12 and 4 team. Listen to the pundits it's all about the vikings.

Both teams our near the top of the NFL, but the edge has to go to the Pack. They really don't a weak link on their team. Plus they have so much depth at all the positions. People giving the North to Vikings because Favre is gone, need to take a look at the Vikings QBs. I'd take Rodgers and Brohm, over any of their three. Now to all the hype about their so called #1 run defense, very overrated as far as I'm concerned. Unless you're the Bears, why would anybody run against them when you can eat their db's up all day? Their best db is a Packer reject (Sharper,) who is always in the wrong position to make the play. I'm always reminded how sorry he is, every time I turn on the NFL network they're showing him giving up the TD to TD, in the Wildcard Game against the 49ers. The PACK is a more complete team, better overall defense, solid running game, Vikes can't keep up with the BIG FIVE, and we still have a better QB. How soon people forget the 34-0 BEAT DOWN the Pack put on them. Last time I looked Farve didn't play defense, but according to the last game the Vikings don't either.

No weak link? Just one serious question here. What makes you think that Rodgers or any other QB on your team is going to be any better than ours when they all have basically NO NFL experience? Sure, Rodgers learned behind Favre for a few years and looked O.K. coming off the bench for one game (as all backups usually do) but, seriously.......I don't think you guys drafted two QB's 'cause you think Arron is all that. Farve was a special player but if A.R. tries to be too much like him, he may be the interception king of '08 (before he gets benched). Farve BLEW against the Giants which is why you didn't make the Superbowl. If you've followed the Pack vs. Vikes for any length of time, you'd know that that 34-0 was an aberration. One reason teams passed on us was they had a lot of time to. That won't be the case this year in fact, the Pack may be in for a real rough time against the Vikes.

Digger- you hit the nail on the head. All I keep hearing about is Minny's #1 run defense- with no mention of their #32 ranked pass defense. There is not a single part of their team that I am concerned about, as the Pack is clearly better on both sides of the ball. I am so gonna rub it in after 9/8.

Face the facts queens fans our beloved Packers were, are, and always will be better. I feel for your frustation. It must be hard always rooting for your team at the beginning of the year only to have to sell all your tickets to Packer fans just to get your games on TV. Not to metion never being anything more than 1st Loser. The biggest
difference between the two teams, other than the Pack having better GM,Coach,Offense,Defense, Special Teams, Stadium, & Fans, is when I go to Lambeau Field there are World Champion Banners hanging all over the place, but my one trip to the metrodump I noticed they only had division champion banners hanging. Who hangs those? Have fun going to LA in a couple of years to watch them play! You better get direct TV this year too, so you can watch them get pounded again by the PACK! 34-0 GO PACK!
