CUE the dramatic music! haha
Brad Jones is visiting Tennessee
Robert Francois is on the verge of resigning with GB
still nothing on Jennings..word was if Jennings wasnt signed by Friday his chance of returning to GB is high, well, its obvious Jennings wont get that 10-12M or more that he was looking for,SO its basically do you want Cassel/Ponder or Aaron Rodgers? Do you want Nelson,Jones,Cobb helping you or ?????? and A.peterson running.
he stated qb is very important,so we will see.
Nich Roche ( Former Bears LB) signed with Oakland.
IF find it funny that McKenzie (GM Oakland) Dorsey (GM KC) are proteges of Ted Thompson and credit the organization ect, but, neither one of them have any hesitation of signing a FA.They sure in hell didnt learn that from Ted ill tell you that!

I was suprised he Bears let Roach get away. I thought they had a big role planned for him. Looks like they need Urlacher + 1 more LB.

Robert Francois knows he's gonna get to play if all our LBs bolt. I feel it is bad mojo to talk about Jennings... In terms of other GMs, there is the "bonus factor." Some owners have no problem paying them and spreading it over the contract. The Pack aren't quite as cash rich as some.

GB promised Francois a shot to start at ILB opposite Desmond Bishop
Terrell Manning who missed camp last year with Colitis,Robert Francois ( who stated he wanted to stay in GB but was going to leave if he didnt get a chance to start,so GB promised him that chance).
AJ Hawk took a significant Paycut not a restructure,He wants to stay in GB and knows the cap space and GB never asked him to take it or your cut or released ect. They talked and he took it to to help the team.Brad Jones is in Tennessee through Saturday at least.

Teams that win the off season have a strong history of losing in the regular season. I like Green Bays approach, keep the team young and hungry!! The draft is loaded with talent on both sides of the line. I would like to see another RB added to the roster also.

I remember Francois started a few games when Bishop and Hawk were both injured. He played pretty well but I don't think he will start over DJ Smith or Hawk. Maybe proves me wrong and that would be great!

Nice of Hawk to take a pay cut and understand he was about to be over paid :)

Hawk struggled last year a bit but I bet he preforms better if Bishop plays the full year... Bishope is one of our top defenders and should lead the team in tackles again like he did in 2011. Game planing vs the Packers ILBs is much easier facing Hawk and 3rd string Jones. Now the game has changed and I bet our ILB group is much better.

I think Francois can be a starter on the inside,If not,hes prob gone next year,They basically said,he wanted to come back to GB,but, he wants to start and not just be special teams and he came back because the team promised him a shot at the starting job.
Sounds like all the ILB jobs are up for grabs ( much like the corners jobs)

Hawk led the team in tackles in 2012 (more than Bishop had in 2011). I wish we had a couple more guys struggling like that! Bishop would definitely help. We need a better DE rotation, too. And a safety who will pop somebody. I'm willing to live with an occasional personal foul, if you get my drift.

Yeah, don't you love that the formula is a secret? Sketchy... Guessing, I'd say we get late picks mostly (Jennings may get us into the 4th round). 7th round picks are fine. They keep you out of the UFA scramble a bit. You just draft those guys and if they stick, fine. With all the LBs leaving, we are gonna need special teamers.
So eric, what do you think this means, as far as who we might draft?

I can almost see TT trade out of the 1st round for an upper 2nd and a back end pick!
Some dont agree with me but with Nick Perry coming back,Terrell Manning coming back,DJ Smith coming back ( none of them really played,) SO thats almost like 3 extra picks with 1 year experience. Francois gets a shot at inside LB as well.
If we go with our first round pick,I honestly dont know.
Lacy RB Alabama ( maybe there).Alec Ogletree LB Georgia but hes had his share of problems,Keenan Allen WR Cal.since we lost Jennings and will lose either Jones or Nelson after next year as they are both FA,
Arthur Brown LB Kansas State, Johnathon Jenkins DT Georgia,Zack Ertz TE Stanford ( since Finley should be gone after next year)
ME PERSONALLY,id love to trade up and grab Kenny Vaccaro Texas...How about you,any ideas?

Vaccarro would be great. I think you're right, especially if they are thinking WR. Like when they took Jordy Nelson, they could probably trade back with someone wanting to grab a QB like EJ Manuel and still get their guy and a pick. I think we need LBs. In a 3-4 you can't have enough good ones. Brown's a good choice (and not as ballyhooed). I think Ogletree will be gone by the time we pick. Te'o doesn't impress me. To me, Nick Perry is more of a rusher than a guy with agility in space. I like Zavier Gooden from Missouri, a fromer basketball player (so you know he's a great athlete). He's a bit raw and will need to put on a little weght, but he has tremendous upside. He's projected late 3rd-4th round. DE obviously, though we seem to be hoping Jolly and others can contribute. I think we could grab Justin Pugh, a 307 lb guard who played tackle in late 2 or 3 and he would be a versatile player for us. Good Senior Bowl.

Id like Keenan Allen WR Calilifornia but Greg Jennings may have a rookie to Mentor.I dont see him getting past Min nesota.
Chicago has Marshall,Jaffrey so if they wanted a 3rd WR thats possible ( although Chicago needs an interior Olinemen and a few other things but so does GB)
I do know Nelson and Jones are both FA after 13 so a WR is almost a much in this draft ( but TT has proven,he could find a WR in the middle of the draft,)
I agree with you T'ao does really nothing for me.Erik Reid safety LSU and Johnathon Banks Corner Mississippi ST.
Since Morgan Burnett is a FA after 13,Erik Reid May come into play ( although i still love Sam Richardson,Vandy last year) SO, with Richardson and Reid on the other,MD Jennings and McMillian back there Burnett becomes expendable since we need cap
Johnathon Banks M.ST. another..Tramon WIlliams MAY lose his starters job ( shoulder) IF Shields really kicks and out plays anything GB can pay him and is gone.WIlliams as a backup making 8.5M wont cut it..so you bring Banks on board with Hayward and House and WIlliams can be traded ( especially if Shields resigned with GB,but,he makes the next leap and with Rosenhouse as his agent,i can see him demand top dollar and TT can afford it).MM mentioned next year both corner spots are up for grabs and if Williams ( injured shoulder in 11) still had nerve damage in 12,who knows if it will ever be the same again and if House's shoulder is 100%( no reason to believe it wont be) and Hayward and Shields back there, you draft Banks as well, Williams can be dealt with ( traded, released) again 8.5M is a lot of cash for a team to pay for a 3rd or 4th corner esp with a bum shoulder

Is Williams injured for good? When healthy, he's one of the best in the league. Williams totally frustrated Marshall last year--and he's that kind of corner when he's near 100%. I don't see him playing beyond his contract. I agree with you about his salary, but if you look at his deal it was front-loaded, his roster bonus is only $300,000 this year and next. Since he isn't owed a game check for a while, it costs very little to keep him on the roster into training camp. Strikes me that if he was damaged goods 1) you couldn't trade him at that salary and 2) you'd just cut your losses, so maybe they expect him to return to form. It's a modest financial bet until you commit to keeping him.

Reid is an interesting and aggressive player. At his size, I do wonder how durable he'll be at this level. He will definitely draw some personal fouls. I feel like Thompson already has his eye on his prototypical WR and it's not on yours or my radar. That could be in any round.
