It's redone a few times a season? At no cost to the Bears? Isn't that nice of the taxpayers to save the McCaskeys all that money? Ha ha suckers!

I've made plenty of investments. Some I have definitely regretted. My investment in the Packers is one investment I will never regret. Investing in the Packers does keep the team financially healthy. As a result the Packers do keep ticket prices relatively low. And naturally, whether or not any of the proceeds from stock sales go directly to signing players, it does free up money for that use. I am proud of my investment in the Packers, but not for the reasons above. Those things are just a bonus. The thing to be proud of is the fact that as a nonprofit corporation the Packers contribute to many charities throughout Wisconsin. Not only are Packer owners helping their team, they are also helping numerous people throughout Wisconsin.
Fans of other teams wish they could have a chance to own a part of their team. That will never happen. You can imagine how screwed up the NFL would be if teams were ran as "for profit" corporations. Teams being run by boards that are more interested in quarterly profits than long term stability of the team or the league would not be good. The only workable option is for teams to operate as nonprofit corporations. However, the NFL owners obviously have no intention of ever giving up their interest in their teams. So expect the Packers to remain the sole team to operate as a nonprofit corporation. It does create a distinctly unique relationship between the Packers, their fans, and the people of Wisconsin.
Thank you for this explanation and the others that followed it. I appreciate it because I was not completely up to speed on how the stockshares bought by the fans was being used. It is indeed very unique. Again, thanks.

<quoted text> Sorry eric they still charge the tax even thou the renovations have been payed for. They found suckers to pay for the renovations and will be charging the season ticket holders a one time fee of thousands of dollars per ticket to pay the costs. The playing surface is just not a big deal. Its freaking grass and its football. All stadiums benefit the businesses around them and renovations provde jobs, etc. It's the same everywhere.
THe playing surface may not be a big deal but one would think they would do something to improve it with the money they make. Its been commented, how bad the surface really is.Maybe or maybe not be a big deal, but still.

Well same goes for the pack, you would think with all the taxes and selling non-stock plus special fees to the ticket holders they would get more than a bench to sit on. I get that packer fans are fatter then most nfl fans, but come on!

Its tough to be so jealous of a winning organization isnt it packluv1? Lambeau is a beautiful stadium, beautiful playing surface, great fans, most Championships, class organization and the place where most football fans add as a must see.well,in Chicago, well not so much.
Try playing over 500 ball before cutting a Packer team..Try to explain you 3,500 seat license PLUS your season tickets to watch the Bears before cutting on a Super Bowl Champion which is a much better bargain

Sorry dude you are wrong about this one. I don't believe you lease property. IF you did, you would know that a lessee can negotiate the right to do maintenance and/or to make leasehold improvements. The McCaskeys are not the only lessees in the world that don't have any say in their lease. Do you think the Chicago Park District wouldn't work with the Bears IF the Bears did want to improve the field?
No shit dumbass every lease is different. The bears do not want to change the type of field they play on. They have the field they want. What part don't you understand?

I understand it all. I've always known every lease is different and negotiable. I also knew the Bears don't want to change their field. That is why I had to explain those things to you. You are agreeing with me now AND you say I'm a dumbass? Hmmmm. According to you, you are agreeing with a dumbass. That is funny! Is every Bear fan so jealous of Packer fans that they say such stupid things?

Are you still angry about the Packers whooping the Steelers in the Super Bowl? Will you ever let it go? Getting angry won't change anything.

Gomer was the true inspiration for the Bloods, not the Black Panthers as has been reported

Losing to the Giants will set the tone for your next season. Broncos were bad enough but at least we weren't beat down by a worse ranked team.

The Steelers were beat by the Broncos. I thought that the Packers beat a good team in the Super Bowl until I saw the Steelers lose to the Broncos. Your crappy team has diminished the magnitude of the Packers winning their record 13th NFL Championship. Why do the Steelers have to suck so bad?

I agree with what you are saying. My wife and I are in our late 50s and early 60s. Rodgers Girlfriend he's with now we had over to our house for dinner and overnight stay five years ago. Plus her parents! We met up with them this weekend in Hawaii during the Pro Bowl. My wife went up to his girlfriend "Destiny" and started talking to her and i went up and started talking to Rodgers while my wife was refreshing Destiny's memory of us. She of course remembered us because our son dated her sister who was on the Reality show "the Bachelor". Anyway I was talking to Rodgers how I was a Christian and he totally ignored what I was saying and instead was just looking around while my wife was standing there talking to his girlfriend. We told them we live in Hawaii now and we retired here. We then shook hands and went back to our table. On our way out they were sitting at a table and there was no food delivered yet so they were just talking and my wife went up and asked for a quick photo. She got turned down with the girlfriend saying "You know he's tired of people taking his picture". I don't think the guy said two words to me. I have to say that I'm a Christian man and there's no way my faith would change to a stuck up spoiled snob should I ever become rich and famous. Kind of made me sick to my stomach reading how Christian he is and watch him treat us that way. What a life. Hope your talents do you good in the afterlife bro......

This couple caught Gay-Rod in another cover up(being with a girl) and that made him nervous as hell,. As said awhile back mention he is gay and he shows up with a girl. What a loser!

And now the big bad gay-rod is whinning again. This team that his teammates in the pro bowl (joke bowl) didnt play hard. Were was he the last 5 or so years ? If he wont have been playing with his trainer and watched the joke bowl .He would know it is nothing more than a vacation. The rules no blitz, cant hit the qb, no intentional grounding sounds like hes mad he couldnt play longer to make HIMSELF look good an pad stats as usual. Poor baby dont worry Teddy will give you all the help on offense to make you look good.

Nothing like throwing players under the bus. He plays the most PROTECTED position in football. Some of these players have to play 3-4 years to make what he does in one. They take hits almost every play. Even through this season he took no blame. Every bad pass he made a reaction like it was not his fault. Even the bad throws against NY. Mised jennings for a TD and the TE for a first down .But reacted like it was on them. Hopefully he plays against some of these guys and gets their best. Give the blow hard another knock out shot and shut him up. Talk about wanting to be front and center. THATS HIM!!
